This is one of my favorite places in the UP. The bookstore is just down the road off of US-2 next to a lovely little house and butterfly garden. They have new and used books, as well as signed editions and collectibles. It's absolutely packed with books and feels like a little maze leading to new rooms and nooks with different genres. Everything is fairly priced. If you are looking for something particular, just ask the owner and she'll be able to lead you in the right direction. This is a must stop for anyone who loves small, independent bookshops.

Wonderful bookstore! Just a heads up to people planning to visit this bookstore the hours on google are incorrect and the bookstore closes at 4pm, NOT 5pm.

This is the coolest, most charming book store I have ever seen! It's located in a beautiful peaceful setting.
Martha Stewart would be jealous of the gorgeous flowers and quaint seating to enjoy your book outside.
If you are ever in the area, you have to stop in and check it out.
I go back every year.

A wonderful little place. Great atmosphere and an adventure every time I visit. I'm not from the area, but stopped by on my trip but the store was closed. As I was walking back to my car, the owner came out of their home and opened the store. Fantastic people.

This is such a great little place! Loved the wildflower garden even before I got in the store. Once inside you move very slowly, as there are soooo many interesting books packed in there it takes a while to see them all!

This is a special place. It's personal, definitely not mainstream. If you want a buying experience that's polished, this is not for you. If you want to wander in a treasure trove of old and new books assembled by a true lover of books...then this is the place. Guess one could say that you don't pick the book here, the book picks you.

This is a fabulous little find! It's just off the beaten path ... a sign on a corner from US Highway 2 (running along Lake Michigan's North shore) says it's 1/2 mile up the road ... it is a small house, crammed with books of every type. They are well organized by category, though there are plenty of stacks that won't fit on the shelves. The lady who runs it can pretty much help you find what you're looking for ... and she's very willing to help you search. The "aisles" are very narrow ... all available space is crowded with books ... but so much fun to search out some treasures! Great shopping for the avid book lovers!

My favorite bookstore. It has an amazing selection. My family spends hours there browsing when we are in the Upper Penninsula.

No junk here, just lots of great books in a place with that old-fashioned, used bookshop feel. One of a kind.
