La Monarca Supermarket

Nice people. You have to go back through a CStore to get to the restaurant. The food was great! $2 each taco and superb sauces. I ordered a couple grilled jalapenos too. Great prices! Glad I tried it out!

My Bf and I sat at the bar, and Brittany was great. We had the best time. The food is delicious. Even though Brittany was super busy, and without help (there was a big party in the back, she handled everyone with a beautiful smile on her face. We can't wait to go again.

The taqueria in the back of the store serves some great food and plenty for the money.

This little grocery store is packed full of of great stuff. I bought Salvadoran chorizo, some asada pequeño, fresh vegetables, and some super spicy Doritos. I'm going back soon thank get some fresh nopalitos (cactus fronds) mmm yum!

Folks are very helpful. Has a meat counter and fresh vegetables. My go to for tamales. Chicken or pork always good without overdoing with masa.

Delicious! Please give this place a chance! The tacos are delicious the bean dip is amazing. Plus when you finish eating you can go shopping! Check out the pastry case!

I did not eat here but I had placed an order of 400 tamales! We sold these among other other authentic Mexican and cajun dishes at a fund raiser. We sold out of the tamales with 11/2 hours!! That should tell you just how delicious those tamales were. The reputation for great authentic Mexican food from La Monarca is well deserved. It looks like a supermarket up front but there is a small restaurant in the rear. Just ask at the register. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My personal favorite Mexican store/restaurant in all Alabama! The owner goes out of his way to have everything and anything anyone needs. Everyone at the store are always friendly and joyful. I love this place and recommend it to everyone! ❤

¡Muy Bien ! I'm a truck driver and travel all over the U.S. and this is by far the best Market/ Restaurant if your looking for something authentic. They offer great business hours, good customer service, and exceptionally amazing fresh food. This place is a really cool stop if your in the Decatur area.

The staff is very cordial and the food is amazingly flavorful. Beside the good prices. Overall it’s my destination restaurant at least twice a month.

I'm from Florida where there are bodegas everywhere. La Monarca had everything I needed that I couldn't find elsewhere... They had cactus!!!! The cashier was extremely nice, very friendly, and helpful.
