Spring House Tavern

Great spot with a fun history. The food was delicious, standard tavern food but really good. The burger was huge but I ate it all. I wish I saved room for dessert. Cold beer. Super friendly staff and quick service. There’s just something special about eating in a place where you can see the huge old logs that make up the structure and feel the history of the place.

Went for my boyfriend’s birthday, just Him and I. Got there at 7pm, was told there’s a 20 minute wait. Waited maybe only 10 minutes and was seated quickly.

For an appetizer, we got the mozzarella sticks and they were hot, seasoned very well and the cheese pulled beautifully when you took a bite.
When I say everything we ate was delicious, I mean it. Everything served was perfect. I’ve never ordered fried chicken at a restaurant before that was so dang good. My boyfriend raved about how perfect his steak was. The sides we got were just amazing as well.

Service was great too! Drinks, appetizer and entrees came out super quickly. Our waitress was hustling around, rarely seen standing in one place but still made sure we were taken care of on a busy Friday night. She was a peach.

Amazing old buildings with so much charm. Glad we found the place. Great downtown area also.

Had take out twice. Ribs are very good. Sirloin was good. Mac n cheese really good. Nashville chicken was good. pasta. I'd imagine if we ate there food would have been even better. Frys were soggy due to being in container for 10 15 minutes not really they're fault I'm sure there's an alternative so this doesn't happen as fast. Just something to think about. Overall I'd eat there if I was in that area again. Brownie Sunday fire!

Absolutely go to the spring House tavern service was amazing the food was amazing the atmosphere was amazing and the drinks were off the chain definitely definitely definitely worth going so definitely make time to make this one of your bucket list places to go people might think I'm crazy like a bucket list is supposed to be for things that really matter technically nothing in this life matters because everything is materialistic thing except for believing in God and Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and doing right by The Holy Trinity but anyway definitely go to the spring House tavern you won't regret it I know I don't 💯💯💯

I absolutely loved this place. We came here after trying another establishment in town that closed earlier than it advertised as being and sampled some of their craft beer. After enjoying the atmosphere, we revisited for dinner the next night. I cannot express how happy I was with this experience. From having awesome drinks and craft beer on tap, we also had the experience of having steaks, some awesome wing appetizers, and being so full we needed to be wheeled out. Everything was hot, everything was seasoned to taste (the wings were the crispiest I've ever had). I was honestly shook when the server brought me an extra wing because my portion had a 1/2 sized wing, but I never mentioned or even noticed it and they still sent me the extra wing in the picture. Best service I've ever had! The steak practically melted in your mouth, and our server who was also our bartender was amazing, even though she was busy! I cannot express how much this place delivers on taste and great service. I'm very happy the Brewhouse was closed, as this place more than delivered. My observation is this, coming from a tourist town myself, when you see locals dining there, it really is the obvious choice. Great place and some of the best food I've had in a long time.

This place is amazing. From the friendliest staff to the amount of food you get!! It’s crazy and the flavor is beyond bomb! I can’t say enough about this place. We come here every time we visit Woodstock/Basye. I forgot to take photos when the food came out so these pics are from eating for 15 minutes! Barely a dent was made, there’s so much food!! :)

Stephanie was a great server, very attentive even though they were busy. the 12oz spring house steak was amazing and tender, loaded baked potato was good, house salad was fresh with a nice sized portion, and the massive new york style cheesecake was to die for. I’ll be returning just for that. everything about this place is awesome

Great music! We had steak and chicken all the sides were plentiful and delicious! The staff was super knowledgeable, patient and friendly.

Today’s luncheon experience was very delightful. Katie took care of our table, several others and additionally a big party of 10. It’s nice to see a server enjoying her job. The food was delicious as usual and the atmosphere quite inviting. Full menu is available even at lunch.

They were amazing. Food was awesome and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We actually went back the next night because itvwas good. Nice little hidden gem in Woodstock. Great menu selection and they had a good many beer and wines to choose from as well.

New chef! Stephanie. Amazing. (Knows how to cook a steak medium, which is more than I can say for the last chef.) Charity, the front bartender, is awesomely attentive and keeps everyone in line! (Tip your bartenders!) And the rest of the staff is a great family! Love this place when I'm in town.

We traveled in here tonight and found this place for dinner. I had the ribs, my wife the pulled sandwich and the kids the Mac n cheese with bacon. Everything we ate was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. They had a large selection of good beers on tap. We ordered the chips (not planning on even eating them) and found them to be amazing.

Dinner was great. We had the onion soup and prime rib burgers. Service was great and atmosphere as expected. We are looking forward to returning.

The Spring House is the old reliable in Woodstock. Everything is always good and has a very relaxing atmosphere. It never fails us fellow Woodstock or Shenandoah County citizens.

My wife and I were traveling south along I81 and needed to eat. This gem came up on our search and we are glad it did. It is an unassuming place, small bar area which is where we sat so I can't comment on the dining area. As we came to the door we we're addressed by a first time patron raving about the food, especially the burger. Good sign. My wife got a burger. Wow. She loved it. I tasted it and agree it was very good. I got the Reuben. Also very good. Both were served with their house made chips which were fantastic. Our server was so friendly. We would come back here in a heartbeat. Just wish it was closer to home.

Traveling through staying at local hotel. Didnt want fastfood. Google put on to the Spring House Tavern.. Nice local place.. Seated quickly and food came right out. Everything was delicious. Seasonal veg. snap peas was a pleasant surprise. Great desserts. Thanks to all. Will stop again for sure..

Been coming here to celebrate birthdays with friends and family for 10 years now. Not a bad thing on the menu between the potato skins, ribs, crabcakes with 0 filler, steak, or stuffed chicken Masala below. The staff, like Melissa who we had tonight, are always willing to work around my mom's stringent dietary requirements and make sure she can get a steak she can enjoy. If you're driving along Route 11, I-81, or hell anywhere in the state of Virginia, you owe it to yourself to visit this amazing restaurant!
