Aggie's Steak & Subs

I had the BLT sandwich. Oh my gosh, the bread was perfect! A little crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. Perfect crumb! The contents of the sandwich were great, too. I grew up on the MS Gulf Coast, so I knew what sweet tea was, but the sweet tea here is REALLY sweet! I’d recommend asking for half sweet, and half unsweetened. They did have indoor seating. Love the atmosphere and friendliness of the owners!

The steak sandwiches were sooo delicious, we didn’t know there was a sauce to go with them so the owner came and offered it to us. Told us he created that sauce and said the sandwiches taste great but the sauce makes the taste sooo much better and he was right! Along with the yummy food, he also chatted with us a bit because we mentioned we were not from the area. Awesome, Down-to-earth business and people!

Oh my gosh! Barry is the best! Went to see my parents who just moved to Merritt. They took me to the best burger joint around. Owner is amazing. Very clean. Ron and Tina Cuff took me there and Aggies did not disappoint! Highly recommend!

Our friend Mac introduced us to this establishment for lunch. A small sandwich shop I missed exploring on my own. The owners Sam & her husband (sorry I forgot your name) have this burst of personality … friendly, welcoming and treated us like long time friends.

The subs were so go I gobbled it down real quick. Come on a woman is hungry. The bread is the right amount of crispiness and soft on the inside. We will definitely stop by often.

No dine in at the moment. Only take out.

Great subs. Great owners who are passionate about their business. I time my visits to the area around an Aggie's meal!

Absolutely fantastic! Couldn't recommend more. Very much mom and pop, but delicious homemade food. I highly recommend the meatball sub with the owner's homemade sauce 🤤🤤🤤

We eat at Aggie's every week. Our favorite items on the menu are the cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, and mozzerella sticks -- but all Mr. Barry's items are delicious, and his sub sandwiches are excellent, esp. the steak sub. You cannot find food this good for this price anywhere else in the county! His burgers are big and hand-pressed with all the fixings for only $3. Highly recommend!!

Excellent local spot to grab a quick bite to eat. I had the cheesesteak and my wife had a cheeseburger. They make great food and are very friendly. I would certainly recommend you try them out if you are in the area.

Hands down the best sandwich in NC. They got it down to a science. The owner Barry and his wife are the best. I eat here waaay tooo much. Try their signature Aggie sauce on your sandwich, you will love it.

I will be glad when their insurance finally pays for them to get their dining room fixed. A car ran into the building, but they are still smiling and serving excellent food!

If you're going to make a name for yourself with a steak sandwich, you really have to have something special...

And man does Aggie's deliver.

The bread is excellent. Crispy and delicious, but also soft and chewy.

The steak and cheese are melted to perfection and pulling the sandwich apart results in the long stringy gooey cheese introduction you only really see in commercials. Extraordinary.

The veggies really stand out. Fresh. Bright. Crunchy. Delicious. Highly recommend getting it all the way.

Finally, bringing it all together is the Aggie's sauce. A mayo/vinegar combination that really pops and adds a stellar zing to an already delicious sandwich. I will absolutely be returning.

Highly recommend the steak and cheese sub all the way with banana peppers.
