Like a mini REI. The cashier was super nice and they had quite the selection for such a small town.

My Fiancé and I stopped in last year and had a great time! We bought some great shirts from some great people. This year we stopped in at the downtown Blue Ridge location and experienced the same exceptional service and products!

I wanted to make sure to write about our experience at Blue Ridge Outfitters because Vicky really provided exemplary customer service and we felt so welcomed to be in this beautiful store. On its own the store stands beautiful with a great selection but Vicky and her personality made it an experience to remember.

We went in to look at some hiking boots and walked out with boots, sandals and socks. Very nice Lady helped Us and it was a very nice experience.
Don’t believe one of the post about this shop.

I walked to the front door and the sales gals were practically coming out the door to close for the day i told them my desperate story about going on a hiking trip to Maine that Monday and i needed shoes. Linda told the other gal to go on and graciously invited me in. Give me a sec , she said I'll get you 2 pairs from up stairs, the Keens were perfect, fit like gloves. Totally compfy from the get go. Thank you Linda, your the best!!!

Not a great experience. My wife and I, along with some friends stopped in, we're avid hikers and like to support small businesses. We were the only people in the shop, but the two ladies behind the counter couldn't be bothered to end their conversation long enough to acknowledge us. That in itself isn't a horrible thing. However, the fact that their conversation was about how annoying customers are was very off putting. I have worked in retail and I can agree, customers can be annoying. However, the time to talk (complain) about it is not when there are customers within ear shot. Evidently in this store you aren't supposed to look at the shoes (that are just laying on the floor) without an employee present (if you can get them to acknowledge that you're in the store?). I attempted to look at some items in the display cases, but again no acknowledgement that someone might want to spend money. In the end we left without a few items (about $100 worth) that we would have otherwise bought. Everyone has bad days (thus 2 stars instead of 1), but I don't see us going back.

I visit McCaysville several times a year. I like this store because they carry brands that I enjoy. However, you cannot depend on this retailer to keep regular hours. Today Google told me the store would open at 11 am so I went to purchase the $100 boots I saw a few days ago, before my vacation ended. Too bad. They lost that sale by not being open. It seems simple enough to set hours and to abide by them.

Stopped by Saturday. Was never in any way acknowledged by the staff that was busy chatting. Wanted to purchase a new pair of Altras and a sweatshirt. Hung around until after the people that were chatting left. Still didn’t get any sort of acknowledgment. Left empty handed and still ignored.

Came off the railroad and ate an awesome lunch at Copperhill Grill and left to shop. Unfortunately, we stopped here first. The adults out of 23 stopped to shop which quickly came to an end because of the cashier who was completely and utterly rude to our children who were sitting in the chairs at the door due to the $500 cost of decor standing around seated in the chairs. Nonetheless, the 23 of us put everything back we had and walked out the door.

Trying to get a jacket, it’s 11:41 on a Sunday, and they’re still not open.
