Duke's Dogs

Came here today after wanting something small to eat before going on a boat tour. Ended up getting a lot of food for very good prices! James took the order, cooked the food, brought the order out, and was very attentive. He was very nice and respectful. The place was clean, food was made to order, and I couldn't get over how large the loaded fries were! We actually had to get a to-go box for them because there was so much left over. The hot dogs were great! We got the Nathan's hot dogs, which were thick, juicy and flavorful. They also have other brands of hot dogs as well. I got the Hog Tied which had BBQ sauce, french fried onions, cheese, and bacon. My fiancé got the slaw dog which had sweet coleslaw, cheese, onions, and jalapeños. For a hot dog shop, the presentation is very nice, and the food looked very appetizing. I definitely recommend this place is you want good food for a great price, and outstanding customer service.

New hot dog place downtown Mount Dora. Food was good, especially the fries. Staff was friendly. Had my first "Chicago dog". Good experience, but not for me. Can't wait to try other varieties.

Definitely recommend the lunch special. 2 dogs, fries and a drink under $11! The late great Anthony Bourdaine would have loved this place, I’m sure. You gotta check it out. The French fries are AMAZING!!

I have been trying to come into Duke’s Dogs for the last few months and was finally able to stop in for a late lunch to go. Oh man, this place is so awesome! The staff they had working were really nice and accommodating. I got the Chicago Style dog with everything and it was absolutely amazing! Very fresh, great ingredients and an actual Poppy Seed bun! You go up the street and get one Chicago Dog for like 13$ at Streatery. Here you can get 3 dogs for only 20$! Will definitely be back!

First time eating a Dukes Dogs and we loved it. The girls in the front were friendly. The fries were hot, fresh, and crispy. We ordered the loaded fries and the chili was amazing!
My husband ordered the big D dog he said it was the best tasting hot dog he ever ate.
We will definitely be returning.

I ordered the hog tied dog. So delicious! My fiance ordered the chili coney and loaded fries. We were so full when we left.
Sandra was so sweet and her suggestive selling skills were great.

Disgusting delicious! I couldn’t ask for a better LOADED FRY - utterly scrumptious and absolutely phenomenal service .. It’s a MUST try. We would have taken a photo before but we devoured it too fast!

My hubs and I have been to Chicago several times and never miss an opportunity to enjoy a Chicago dog. Duke’s did NOT disappoint - it was an authentic Chicago dog! We actually ordered just one as a snack and it was so delicious that we went back in and ordered three more hotdogs, including a Coney. We will absolutely return to Duke’s next time we’re in Mount Dora!

My husband and I stopped in for the first time today for a hot dog and fries. The food was delicious but equally important was the service. Kayleigh was very attentive and extremely Covid compliant. I honestly can say she was so welcoming and willing to do anything to make our visit pleasant. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Mount Dora.

Great concept! Great snack/lunch place. Interesting selections. I admit, I never knew you could top hot dogs with so many things. Loved the service. I'm bad at names but I believe it was Amber?

We finally tried Duke’s Dogs and will surely go back often. Besides the tasty hot dog, their fries were what we have been looking for, hot crispy and delicious! Service was fast and friendly, even with the Festival crowds.
We love being able to get food to go and walk around downtown.

OMGoodness!!! Great Food, Great Service!! Great Prices.. Fresh made fir you fries, Sweet tea. Turkey dogs... They got beef or turkey i think another kind too. Just So impressive!! Another hidden gem in Mt.Dora. Go take a cruise on the Rusty Anchor for an hour. Then walk up the hill and Get ya Some Duke's Dawgs!!! You won't be let down!!!

While this is definitely an honest 5 star review I can't help but want to use this to at least cancel out Jared Ian's special 1 star review. That is the saddest, most pathetic whining ramble I have ever seen. When you have someone that brags about owning a tape measure because "he" is a DIY kinda guy you cannot help but laugh. That level of keyboard cowboy whining is typically from the "guy" who has AAA because he doesn't know how or just physically cannot change his own tire on his Jetta.
Anyway....this place was awesome. I'm a southern country boy with parents, grandparents and great grandparents that scratch cooked and their fries are exactly that. Some of the toppings were clearly from actual produce too....not the kind of stuff I'm sure Jared gets on his Saturday trips to Target. The hot dogs were just standard but that's the idea behind some of these recipes. It's just a hot dog, but the recipe makes it pretty good. Considering all the toppings they have and you never know what anyone wants it makes sense that one would have to ask for the condiment they wanted. Not everyone puts ketchup on their fries, Jared.....we're not all 7. Seems pretty standard these days.
I love the small mom and pop shops and knowing this is all family run makes it even better. It's nice to find places that are not Darden or mega chains. We have far too much of that. The service was friendly and real; Not a scripted response. Just conversation.

I am almost an hour away but I'll drive back often.....i guess I'll never see Jared there....which is a plus too.

My family and I just recently moved to Mount Dora and we’ve been trying a few different food spots. Today I tried Dukes, and I must say from the awesome customer service and convo with the cashier to the actual food. One word! AMAZING!!!

This place is fantastic! The young lady working was super friendly and helpful! Food is delicious, amazing hand cut fries!! Tasty, fresh, quick place to grab some lunch! Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommended!

Well worth the trip to Mt Dora. The home made chili makes the perfect topping to a dog!

This Hot Dog restaurant joint was Great delicious dogs and 🍟 and the staff was very good and informative we definitely will be back.

Nice place especially if you like a good hot dog. There was outside seating that was nice.
