I just want start off by saying that the customer service and communication I received from this place was fantastic! Billy responds to inquiries very quickly and is as accommodating as he can be for his customers.

My husband and I eloped back in January of this year and searched high and low for the best cupcakes in Charlottesville. I am glad to say that we found them here! The cupcakes we got (which were a very plain vanilla/vanilla) were the most flavorful decadent, balanced cupcakes we’ve ever eaten. The cake was so moist and the icing was perfect, not sickeningly sweet like we had experienced elsewhere. We were having such trouble finding good cupcakes here that we almost just went with a small Costco/Wegmans cake, but I’m so glad we wound up with these. Whenever we want something sweet, we crave these cupcakes! We also found them to be quite affordable for just how good they really are. I highly recommend & hope you will try them out!

Billy is a fabulous baker and gem of a person, and we are so glad we had him provide our wedding cake and cupcakes! From the start, my husband and I knew we wanted to have cupcakes for our guests and small cake for just the two of us, which not all bakers provide. Billy does, however, and also has a wide variety of flavors to choose from. We absolutely loved our tasting, and it was so hard to narrow down just a handful of flavors because everything was so delicious! Throughout the planning process, Billy was patient and very helpful with his suggestions. We ended up adding a flavor and going with mini cupcakes at his recommendation, which were both a hit at our event and also helped us save money. All of our guests raved about how good the cupcakes were, and our carrot cake-flavored round cake was one of the best bakery items we have ever had in our entire lives. We had both pick-up or delivery options for getting our baked goods to our venue, but Billy was even kind enough to set them up for us at our dessert table day-of. I know my Grammie, who lives out of state but helped us with this part of the planning, still asks about Billy at considers him a friend after all he did for us. If you are looking for a baker in the Charlottesville & surrounding area, I could not recommend Billy and Vivi's Cakes & Candy more!

I went to their new location on the downtown mall. The staff was friendly and even gave me a nice sample of one of their cupcakes. I paid about $14~ for 4 really good cupcakes! The flavors were prominent but not overwhelming and I found the cake to be a nice fluffy base for the buttery frosting. They had a birthday rush so were very low on stock at the end of the day, but we're still kind enough to frost two lemon cupcakes for me. Not sure what their business went through in the past, but I'll definitely be back :)

The first time I ordered from Vivi’s cakes I made the ridiculous ask for 2 dozen cupcakes for pick up six hours later, before they had technically opened. They were delicious. A few weeks later, the store was open and second ask was five dozen and a gluten-free add…also delicious.

So happy I can pop in for a sweet treat and plan ahead for larger celebrations. Vivi’s is a huge add to the community.

This is THE place for cupcakes. The cupcakes are amazing!! If you’re in Charlottesville, this is one of the top spots to check out. Great atmosphere, music, and the best service in town. Billy, the owner, makes you feel so welcomed. Fantastic and a must!

Accommodated a rather last-minute order quickly and kindly! The cupcakes are also very good, with the icing as the best part. Will surely be returning for more later… Delicious icing, truly! Hope they get a permanent spot on the mall soon. Many thanks to Billy!!

Vivi’s Cakes and Candy has some of the best cupcakes we’ve ever had! We did a tasting to choose flavors for our wedding, and it was hard narrowing down to just a few flavors. The cupcakes also came packaged well and we didn’t have any trouble transporting them to the wedding venue and setting them up. Our favorite is vanilla/vanilla, and our wedding guests especially liked the cookie dough flavor!

Updated in 2023 to add that we tried the cupcakes again, and they were as good or better than we remembered :) Service and responsiveness to communication was also top notch! We can’t wait until this shop has a storefront again, and we will continue to recommend these cupcakes to everyone we know!

The whole aesthetic inside is absolutely stunning, the paint colors are literally called cake icing and sprinkle like can you get more perfect for a cake shop????

I live in the great state of Georgia and have been eating cake for over 25 years. A close friend of mine brought some Vivi’s cupcakes and a large vanilla cake down for a birthday party we recently had here. Not only did everything look amazing even after the long drive, but everything tasted as good or better than any cake I’ve ever had. Bravo Vivi’s!

The cookie dough cupcake is SO GOOD! Don't miss out on the opportunity to have Vivi's at any of your special events like birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc. They serve a great product (I tried the vanilla vanilla cake and an assortment of cupcakes) and are a fun business that cares about their customers!! We ordered our wedding cake from Vivi's and chose the carrot cake to fit with our fall-themed wedding. I have a nut allergy and had to ask them to alter the recipe, which they were able to accommodate easily. The cake we wanted was three tiers, with simple design (I provided cake flowers and a topper). It came out wonderfully! The cake was moist and delicious, and I appreciated them taking the time to apply the flowers and topper for us at the venue. We ended up freezing the top tier and look forward to eating it next year! The cake was a hit with our guests too.

Vivi’s baked our cake and mini cupcakes for our October 2021 wedding at Mount Ida! They were an absolute pleasure to work with and were extremely accommodating to our dietary needs. Our cutting cake was vegan and all our guests could not stop talking about how delicious it was. The mini cupcakes were amazing and also received endless compliments. Their staff went above and beyond with the cake/cupcake set up-at the wedding and even incorporated our flowers and pictures into a beautiful table setting. We would highly recommend using Vivi’s for your big day!

Vivi’s prepared a wedding cake and minis for my daughter’s wedding. Everything was delicious! Our guests loved them both. They worked with us to prepare the cake with the look and flavors that my daughter wanted. The result was an elegant and tasty cake. They delivered and set up the cake on time and just as we wanted. Highly recommend.

Vivi's came through for us at the very last moment and made our wedding cupcakes for us! We were pinched for time trying to find someone to help us, and not only were the folks at Vivi's kind and helpful, but they made some amazing, beautiful, delicious cupcakes that we got to show off at our wedding. All of the guests LOVED them! Vivi's even made sure the cupcakes were safe to travel and then provided individual containers to stay COVID-safe. Highly recommend!

Was able to try a cake and some cupcakes from Vivi’s at a birthday party and the product and service offered here is top notch. Solid assortment, big fan of the cookies and cream cupcake.

Visited to pick up some goodies for a small celebration. Asked for 6 cupcakes, 2 almond and 4 "surprise" - I was not disappointed! We got the red velvet, chocolate-strawberry, cookie dough, and salted caramel. They were all to die for. The frostings are all out of this world - the strawberry tasted like a fresh strawberry, and the cookie dough was literally a giant scoop of cookie dough on top of delicious marble cake. I'm partial to almond cake/icing and I was THRILLED with Vivi's! I will definitely be back and highly recommend. Thank you so much for accommodating the "surprise" and for such delicious treats!

5 billion stars is not enough stars - I can't recommend Vivi enough for her speed, attentiveness to detail, and willingness to pull my buns out of a jam when I needed a cake for 80 people with less than half a day's notice.

Did I mention I'm literally a thousand miles away from where the event was taking place? And that she called me after 8:00PM ET for a delivery of a cake at 5:30PM CT the very next day?

Vivi handled everything flawlessly and calmly, performed absolutely professionally from the initial [panicky] order to the names on the cake to the delivery to the actual cake itself... and saved the day with a cake that the attendees RAVED about in presentation and taste! Thank you so much, Vivi, my team sees me as a hero because of you!
