Highly recommend. Amazing food. So fresh! The service is great, too. When you come in, you order at the counter and find a seat. They’ll bring your food to you when it’s ready. It can get a little crowded at times so it can be a little noisy (mostly around noon), but I feel like it adds to the atmosphere. I feel like the pricing isn’t too high; the quality of food is worth it. I did the “Build Your Own Omelette” and it came with potatoes, toast with homemade jam or apple butter. Delicious. And it was about $13 (after taxes and with water). I highly recommend! My dad got the stuffed French toast and he said it was delicious! The next time you’re in the area, stop by Jack’s Shop Kitchen! The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing!

A lovely little spot on the way to the mountains.
Jack's is a adorable cafe selling both look goods (and antiques) and great local made food. They make some of the meats in house too!
We stopped in for breakfast and I got the avocado toast with eggs and my husband got the farmer's breakfast. We both cleaned our plates! We also got their fried pickles which were great! They pickle chips, not spears, so you don't get the scalding pickle juice and stay nice and crispy!
Be sure to get the strawberry jam when you go! It's killer!

I started my birthday with my family at Jack's Shop kitchen for breakfast. We knew to go early to avoid the crowd. We had no wait to place our orders and easily got a table. Drinks are all self serve but wait staff bring your meals. The staff was all very polite and courteous. I had a breakfast croissant with potatoes and a side of fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were really good with the sauce they were delicious. The sandwich was very big! The bacon was crisp and the egg cooked to order. The potatoes might have been the star of the show. They were extra crispy and seasoned perfectly! We ended the meal with a celebratory donut holes and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. The donut holes were very crispy and delicious. The pumpkin cheesecake was goo. My son loves it! Our meal and service was all really good. I recommend JSK with the caveat that the good food and service comes with a high price tag.

Here is a great place to have a dining experience. The staff here are warm and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and homey. The food is out of this world; I have never had a bad dish in all the times I have eaten here. It is easy to get to and the parking is ample. Overall this place is a “must do” place.

We had the shrimp and grits and it was so flavorful! The egg Benedict was also very good. The potatoes are Soo crunchy and perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming back here again.

If you are crossing by 29 and 33, this is the best place to take a rest and have yummy, amazing bites made with love, and a lovely team , that deserves more than five stars for this amazing place

Jack’s Shop Kitchen is the best, hands down. Even when there’s a crowd, service is quick and friendly. They’ve made a few amazing changes lately, from adding a Little Free Library inside the restaurant to partnering with a local farm to retail fresh produce.

Brunch today was phenomenal. I had a breakfast sandwich on a giant croissant, loaded with perfect scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, herbed aioli, and more. It was over-the-top in a good way. The breakfast potatoes on the side are what peak potato performance looks like. They’re crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and covered in the right amount of tasty seasoning. Absolutely perfect.

The recent addition of dinner service has been great, too. There’s a whole list of fancy burgers that make me jealous every time I see one pass my table, but I keep coming back for the smoked trout spread and the perfect shrimp and grits.

Jack’s has been crushing it lately, and I can’t wait to see what they do next!

I’ve been coming here for several years now and the food is always excellent. This place gives you the small town feel but with fresh and great tasting food.

Highly recommend the Balsamic Chicken Sandwich. The taste is phenomenal and my go to every time I come here.

Small town feel next to an antique store on the corner of 29 & 33 in Ruckersville. The burgers were amazing and the craft soda was a nice touch. The cinnamon donuts and ice cream shop were also fantastic. Parking is a little tight during busy times but usually a spot is open around back. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but definitely worth a lunch date or quick family stop.

Unique building with food and ice cream. As an added bonus, there are multiple antique shops to check out!

My family typically enjoys breakfast there at least once a month. My son, who has Celiac Disease, is able to eat here with ease, and if they make a mistake, they own up to it, and then make it right. I usually get the Farmer’s Breakfast and it is enough food for at least two people. I love what is included with the dish.

The service typically is okay, yet, could improve slightly. I also recommend bringing back the lavender lemonade, especially as a Spring treat!

Jack's shop boasts a welcoming atmosphere with staff that goes above and beyond. Their food is simply delicious, and the portions are generous. It's consistently our top choice when hosting out-of-town guests!

Came in for dinner and they already had two larger parties seated. Cylie was able to accommodate us and the food was marvelous. The lamb meatballs, goat cheese fritters and seasonal salad were all delicious starters. All three of us can’t recommend the roasted chicken enough. Delicious cobbler to finish off the meal. Great local spot to have a bite in Ruckersville!

1st time here. We will be back when in the area again. My husband and I loved our sandwich choices and appreciated the freshness of the ingredients. Have to say my open face roast beef sandwich was awesome but the tomato cucumber salad side with the creamy balsamic dressing and olive tapenade was a wonderfully tasty surprise. Glad we got there before the noon rush. There was a line at the counter when we left.

2.7.2024. Thought I would try them out for dinner since they just started serving it recently. The menu was varied, interesting and reasonably priced. We started with the lamb meatballs appetizer. Very good. I ordered the blackened pork and my son ordered the seafood etufe(sp). We were very pleased with both meals. Danielle and Ethan provided excellent service.

The menu offers standards like burgers and fried chicken but also includes surprises like eggs Benedict and Cubano sandwiches. You order at the counter, then find a table. The servers then bring the food to your table. The food was good. Everyone in our party enjoyed the meal. My only slight negative is that there are only two one-stall bathrooms, so lines form.

We were heading to Charlottesville and looking for a place to eat breakfast and found this gem on Google. My husband can be a bit of a food snob when it comes to restaurants and he was impressed with the food and environment. Our 2 picky teenagers also loved their choices (Breakfast Burrito and Smoked Grilled Cheese) We will definitely stop here again!

A very unassuming spot to grab a meal, Jack's started off with a fried green tomatoes appetizer with a nice cornmeal coating and lightly zesty dipping sauce. We chose Seafood Etoufee and Shrimp & Grits for our dinners and settled in for an unexpected treat. The creaminess of the sauce on the shrimp and grits was accented nicely by the wilted fresh spinach on top. While I found my partner's grits slightly overcooked, my companion did not. My own etoufee had just a hint of spice to the sauce which was heavenly over the fish, shrimp and black mussels. We both found the real high point of our meals to be the simply prepared but perfectly cooked asparagus. While I found the berry cobbler to be a less than stellar finish, it really was just enough sweetness to set off the savory entrees. The decor was a simple farm anesthetic, but the extremely sticking wooden flooring was quite off-putting. All in all, though, our sweet young waitress, Cylie, wrapped us in warmth and southern hospitality, making any small disappointments fade into pleasant satisfaction. If you visit, stop in the antique shop upstairs to browse through several rooms of treasures before you dine.

Today we went over for dinner at Jack’s. We love the food there already, but we continue to come back for the service. Today we had Karyssa helping us and the table behind us. She was quick, polite, and had a very cheery attitude. She even helped the table behind us as they asked what her favorite dish was. #impressed

We came for dinner. The goat cheese fritters and lamb meatball appetizers were amazing. Full of flavor. The Hot chicken sandwich was not your ordinary chicken sandwich. They definitely took it up a notch with quality chicken and homemade pickles. Our service was spectacular. We had an amazing waitress Krissa The entire evening was perfect. A must go in Ruckersville!

We decided to try a local eatery as we drive thru Ruckersville in our way to a winery. The Fried green tomato BLT was delicious. My husband had the Shrimp & cheese grits & he said it was excellent. We went on a Sunday after church services, which is very crowded & had to wait in line for a while but it was worth it. So plan accordingly if you have flexibility.
