Such an awesome history at this Inn! We booked this on airbnb for our honeymoon, and it is the best please that we've stayed throughout the trip! If you come here, make sure to look around and read the history of the Gilbert family and check out their belongings that are around the house! Thank you! Also, great personal touch with the swan on the bed and the elephant towel on the bathtub, as well as the rooms being so clean (and themed)! Also, there was a great continental breakfast that we ate outside in the sunshine on the patio.

Recently went to Gilbert Inn in Seaside on a road trip down the Oregon Coast. The place was incredibly charming, clean and extremely affordable compared to other accommodation in Cannon Beach. The location is perfect for kids with so many activities in Seaside. Not to mention, a 3 minute walk to the beach where you can have beach fires on the sand. Gilbert Inn provided everything we could have wanted! The check in process was easy and convenient, and they allow pets with dog bowls and treats out for guests. I would highly recommend this place and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a great night today at the Gilbert Inn! We stayed in the awesome Garret Room where it felt like stepping back in time. Our room was very clean and felt fesh. All beds were comfortable. The only drawbacks were that there is limited light in the bathroom and while there was shampoo and conditioner, there was no body wash in the shower.

1/2 price of other hotels. Charming historic home, converted to boutique hotel. Rooms and bathroom are spotless and updated. Often I'm a little concerned about historic old hotels, but this was perfect. Breakfast is typical motel "continental", eggs & sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, bagel & toast, orange juice, only missing cereal.

Such a beautiful little inn and only one block from the beach. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but service was great and the inn itself had so much character.

Lovely property, never stayed here before. Price for Matthew's room over a weekend in Feburary was very, very reasonable. Room was spotless and clean, one flight of stairs up to the room wasn't terrible (just really narrow), and the side door turned out to be extremely convenient to enter and leave. I can't really see any downsides. It is a historic property so there are quirks but well worthy of being a regular accommodation while you're in Seaside.

The beach and Broadway street are walkable distance so you really don't need to drive unless you want to venture further out.

Front desk staff was friendly and there is plenty of parking. I don't really understand all the bad reviews. We didn't have any of the issues other people had. The window allowed a breeze and there is a fan offered (although ours didn't seem to work properly, we always bring a fan just in case on trips anyways so it's fine).

No gripes or major complaints. We will definitely stay here again, possibly in a larger room.

Oh, the breakfast is no longer included in the stay - but at a $10 price, it's pretty reasonable!

We just stayed a single night but it was very nice. Quaint vintage decor. Charming. Breakfast was nice.

The Gilbert Inn is a very beautiful place to stay. I highly recommend staying in the Garrett Room, it’s like having your own private penthouse. The breakfast is fresh and made to order. The only downside was you can hear others below you, and the doors closing, but almost everyone was quiet. The location is not Oceanside but you could see the ocean from our room.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gilbert Inn last week and when I booked I had no idea we were getting one of the most historic buildings in the town! The inn was charming, well kept, and in a great location. The main room had news-clippings about the hotel and quaint artifacts. The breakfast had a great selection, was included in the price of the room, and came out hot! I was so enchanted with our stay, I wish we'd been there for more than one night. The only downside was no central a/c, but that was the price we paid for being able to stay the night in a piece of local history. Well worth it, highly recommend.

Cuties little place I’ve stayed at. Just 1 1/2 blocks away from the seaside turn around and all its wonderful shops. There was an issue with our reservation which had nothing to do with the Inn itself but after some time things where figured out and we got our room thanks to the wonderful lady Mary that got out of bed come over to the Inn and helped us get our room. It was the end to a great Thanksgiving. We think we’re gonna make this a tradition from now on

Fantastic b & b. Our room had a view of the ocean though the inn is a block away from the beach.

My husband and I stayed at the Gilbert Inn for the first leg of our honeymoon and we couldn't be happier! The staff left complimentary chocolates, sparkling cider, flowers, and decorated our bed with swans and flower petals due to it being our honeymoon! The room was cute and clean, and the free breakfast was simple but good! Though the best of all is the location! Being just a block from the beach and the main street meant everything was easy to access and running back to the room to grab something was easy as can be!

We would love to come visit again!

Such a lovely place!

This is a family run Bed and Breakfast with antique setting. We booked Renee’s room and we had a wonderful experience staying there!

I really enjoyed personal touch in their service. Be it elephant shaped towel arrangement in the bathroom or a flower on a toilet roll. They also serve you breakfast on your table in the dining room.

I think with all the commercialised hotels everywhere, I really enjoyed those small things.

I would recommend this place if you like staying in a place with historic touch and enjoy small things like me.

This place is at walking distance from the beach and Downtown is also close by.

One block from the beach and right next to the main strip, my husband and I stayed at the Gilbert for 5 nights. We booked Emma’s room, which seems to be the smallest, but still offers a private full bath. Although the room was small, we found it cozy and enjoyed the fact that there was a smart TV provided. Complimentary breakfast was served from 8AM-10AM in the sunroom. The sunroom also had a kuerig, microwave, mini fridge, and water dispenser. Guests also had access to the sunroom after breakfast hours to enjoy the common space or kick up some friendly competition in Yahtzee, or other games (provided by the Inn).

Front desk staff was available between 9AM-9PM. Front door was locked before and after the designated times, but guests are provided alternative access if needed.

Housekeeping services were wonderful. Our room had full service each time we had our “Service Please” sign up. It felt as though we were checking in each time. Bravo to housekeeping.

Our only issues with our room/stay. You can tell that the owners/management are doing their best to update the Inn. While we enjoyed Emma’s room, that isn’t to say it doesn’t need some love. The bathroom could use some extra love. Maybe some towel racks, especially to hang a hand towel on. Instead of lotion mounted above the sink, maybe some hand soap. The sink is too small to have to share it with a bar of soap. One of the lights in the vent was burnt out and the vent did little to no venting while on. Paint is peeling around/above the shower/bath itself, willing to bet, once the vent is fixed, paint will no longer peel.

The main bedroom itself had peeling wallpaper above the TV. We also could not get the floor heater to turn off. We asked front desk, they gave us the same instructions, we could not get it to turn off. It was concerning when it would turn on at night with the curtains closed, so we opted to keep the curtains open at night. I only felt that it was a fire hazard. The heater is an awesome feature and plays into the character of the house - but there is a wall heater by the door. We did not use the heater, because we didn’t need it. The other flaw that could lead to other hazards in Emma’s room, the number outlets. There are only 3 outlets in the room. Three lamps, a smart TV, a fan, and a sound machine were all plugged into them. The outlet behind the TV had a long surge protector being utilized. Adding our needs, the room was absolutely overwhelmed with cords. I hope this is addressed with future room updates.

Along with old bones, comes original sound proofing - or lack thereof. We heard everyone and everything. It didn’t bother us much - but it can be loud when people get in late or are settling in for the night. I wouldn’t hold that against the Inn - if you would prefer next to no noise, then it’s best to stay home.

My husband and I have decided that
the Gilbert Inn will be our go-to “home” every year in Seaside. Aside from some cosmetic flaws, staff was wonderful and the location doesn’t get any better! Give it a chance and decide for yourself. Next time, we want to stay in the Turret room!

This place is actually perfect and if I could give them 10 stars I would. The room is clean and comfortable and the staff is just SO friendly and attentive. My room had a clean bathroom, coffee pot with coffee, hot coco and the easy to work TV. The front of the INN has a fire pit to use after walking around the ocean - I'll add the ocean is only 1 block up. Breakfast in the morning is filling and yummy. One of the best parts is this place is walking distance from everything, I never moved my car. If you are looking to rest and relax in Seaside this is the place. I can't wait to go back.

Such a cute place to stay. The room was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. There were a lot of amenities, including complimentary breakfast and a cute shared outdoor space. It is also pet friendly which is a must for us when traveling. I would recommend this place!

We had a great time staying at the Gilbert Inn in Seaside. We were greeted by Tabitha who was super helpful in helping us make evening plans. We stayed on the third floor. The room was nice and clean! We loved the room, and enjoyed the robes and slippers. We enjoyed the breakfast included, and would stay here again. Be aware, if you are staying upstairs, there are several stairs and they are pretty steep and squeaky.

Stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and enjoyed everything about this place. The room was extremely clean which is vital for me. The décor was nice and welcoming. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

My Husband and I stayed here on a whim and were so glad we did. The Gilbert Inn is beautiful. It is a wonderful location on the water front, we could here the ocean from our room. Pulling up to the Inn was like stepping into a bit of history. The lobby is warm and welcoming. Check in was very easy. Our room was on the second floor of the house and it was very quiet. The room was clean, and had its own charm. Tea and coffee are offered in the room, as well as down stairs in the coffee nook. The breakfast offered in the morning has something for everyone. Our stay was very relaxing and next we travel to Seaside OR we will make another reservation.
