Seaside Hillcrest Inn and Hillcrest House

Cute cozy little hotel, not the fanciest, but exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay as we were passing through. Very affordable. Less than 4 minute walk to beach and restaurants. Pay a little extra for the room with a spa tub. Very relaxing. Great customer service. The gal that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. They have drinks, popcorn and snacks at the office along with movies and games. Only complaint is the parking. Not many spots.

Wow, this place was a really unexpected gem. We originally stayed here because it was really inexpensive, but the room quality was far better than expected for the price! It's a bit dated for sure, but the room was large and comfortable. We opted for a room with a jetted tub, which was a nice little extra. There was also a separate shower, which actually had a high enough showerhead (and I'm 6'2"!) the staff were great, and the hotel provided free snacks (popcorn, fruit, candy, etc.)

I booked online, and wasn't quite sure what to expect. When we arrived, they let us look at the room and it was just fine. It isn't fancy, but it is clean and cozy. Beds are comfortable, the location is fantastic, the customer service is GREAT. I would absolutely stay there again. Quaint.

The Hotel apon first appearance was questionable, But after Staying for a minute, we found the room had it's own special personality. We began to fall in love with it. It was comfortable and cozy. I can't wait for the chance to go back!

My friend and I had a great experience at Hillcrest Inn. Ruth was very helpful she even came to our room to show us how to use the remotes for our TV. The fireplace in our room didn't work so she had us move to a room where it works. We were there on the 4th of July and she Bbqued dinner for all her guests. She goes above and beyond to accommodate her guests. They have many extras like movies, snacks, games, beach blankets as you are only 1 block from the beach. I would definitely go back.

This location is perfect for an easy walk to the beach, shopping, food etc. The rooms were very clean and the staff was so friendly. I love all the personal touches like fresh popcorn and being able to borrow movies. It's not fancy, but for a weekend away, it's the best experience. Highly recommend! I love how dog friendly it was too!!

We had such a great stay while here for the Seaside Jazz and Blues Festival. I'm so happy places like this still exist in the ever-expanding corporate takeover of everything cool. Ruth was such a delight. The rooms were simple and clean. Little finishing touches on service were nice.

Ashley that works at the front desk should get a raise! I called a couple of weeks ago to make reservations for my boss who will be in Seaside on business. Ashley was very pleasant, efficient, professional and intuitive as to the type of room I needed for my boss. Today I had to call and make a last minute change. Ashley was again, extremely nice to work with and had even remembered me from when I originally made the reservation. It's so refreshing to come across someone that is this good at customer service! Thank you Ashley!!!

The makeup towel is the coolest thing I ever did see in a motel. Very cozy, relaxing, even through work related stay. One of the last old motels left in town and is very nice., and clean. Staff are wonderful.

A cute, clean and very close (1 Block) to the beach gem.
The host \ owner (Ruth) is the BEST! She is on the ball, nice, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and did I mention the place have a great spread (cookie, hot chocolate \ cider, oatmeal, fruits…)
We really enjoyed are stay and will definitely come back.

Great hotel for the price! Dog friendly! Very polite front desk lady, seems like it’s family owned and operated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The beach is a 5minute walk. Spacious car parking. Clean well kept rooms! Wi-fi isn’t the greatest but no big deal.

Let me tell you right off the bat this place is a hidden gem in Seaside!!! My mom, daughter and I stayed there a couple of weeks ago as we were going to a family reunion in Garibaldi. I chose Seaside Hillcrest Inn because they had a cabin and the price was low. On the day of the trip, they called me to confirm the reservations. When we got to the hotel we were greeted by Ruth who I think is the owner. She checked us in and told us there were snacks and Dvd in the office. I checked out the Dvd libary and it was impressive. Something for everybody. We got to the cabin and let me tell you, it was better than I expected. There were 2 bedrooms, 1 bath a kitchen, dining area and living room! It was updated and felt like you were at home! One bedroom had a bunk bed and a twin. So you could easily sleep 5 people if you count the couch! If you have a family, that dining room table is long enough for everyone! Appliances were new too. The location is great. It's 2 blocks from the beach, Broadway and right around the corner from the aquarium. It's the perfect spot to stay in Seaside! Now I want to do a special shout out to Ruth! She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable! My daughter and I were on our way to a nearby convenience store and we stopped and chatted. She asked how our stay was. I told her it was great. We told her we were on our way to the convenience store and she said that's the one all the locals go to! The next night my daughter and I went to the gelato shop and ran into Ruth. She asked us how our Reunion went! We only mentioned it once at check in and she remembered. Honestly, because of Ruth and just checking in with us, it made the stay perfect!!! I'm not sure what I miss more, the hotel or Ruth! Lol When I got back from my trip, I told some co-workers about the hotel and one of my co-workers asked me the name of the hotel. I told her the Hillcrest in. She smiled and said "That's the one I stay at too". I will definitely be back again!

We arrived in the evening after a 10
hour drive only to find there was no one to give us access to a room that we had reserved at another hotel. We saw the vacancy sign at the Hillcrest, and when I went in to get a room, I explained to Ruth, the manager, what had happened. She tried calling and texting the other hotel, but to no avail, and we ended up staying at the Hillcrest for the night. Ruth offered us coffee and snacks and escorted us to our room. We were so happy to have such a warm and welcoming reception on what could have ended up being a very unpleasant night. Thank you, Ruth!

Absolutely stellar customer service, the staff was super helpful and kind.The lobby is stuffed-full with fun games, beach toys and DVD’s you can borrow. There are also snacks and coffee to enjoy. Our room was small but very cozy and comfortable. It was perfect for the one day we were there. We had an ocean view from our bed, and there was a nice fireplace spaceheater keeping the room toasty. Loved our stay, will be booking again for our next Seaside getaway ☺

If I could give this 10 stars I would. Absolutely the best. The staff was amazing, we were running late and they called to make sure we were ok, the mountain pass we had to go over could be a little scary. The room was amazing, clean and homelike. I will definitely plan my next vacation HERE!!

We loved it here! The rooms are very cute and very clean. We were in a dog friendly room and I was surprised how clean it was! (And they even give you a dog kit with a bowl, towel, poop bags) Staff is wonderful! The woman at the front desk (pretty sure she owns the place) is so friendly and welcoming! She does a great job making sure you are well taken care of. And the free snacks!! They have free hot chocolate and snacks! And the stay is a prime location for everything in Seaside, including the beach! We would absolutely stay here again!!

Very cute cottage rental, very affordable during the off season. Great access to the promenade and very near the main shopping areas. Free snacks, an eclectic library of DVDs to borrow, and the "full kitchen" was in fact very well stocked with all the pots and pans, a full coffee maker, an instant pot, and even a Belgian waffle iron.

My husband and I wanted to book a getaway trip with our daughter. With Covid we were nervous about where to go and finding an affordable place, and stumbled upon Hillcrest via Google. This place is so affordable and family friendly, and the family who runs it are so sweet and do an excellent job at managing the place. The place isn’t the newest, fanciest looking place, but it’s very clean and homey. Personally, I don’t care about how fancy a place looks, I care about comfort. And it was very comfortable. The beds are the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept on, the shower and jetted tub were nice and the water got hot right away. There is a decent sized mini-fridge and microwave if you want to bring food or store leftovers (you can also upgrade to a room with a kitchenette). Ruth even upgraded our room so we could have a quieter room (the original room we booked happened to be right below the stairs), which was so appreciated! There’s a nice little yard and BBQ area, and they have many amenities that we will hopefully be able to use when we visit once Covid settles down. The room itself was spacious and very cozy. We had fun taking our daughter down onto the beach in one of their wagons, which they let you borrow, with beach towels and a blanket too. The inn is one block from the aquarium and promenade, and close to many of the restaurants and other major attractions, yet since it’s on the north end it’s much quieter. Overall we loved it here, and plan on returning again at some point. Thank you Ruth and the rest of the team, for making our stay so enjoyable!
