Shilo Inns Seaside Oceanfront

Everyone was so friendly. Michelle did us a solid and gave us an upgrade with a view, a fireplace and kitchen. Thank you!!! The location is the best. The rooms have been updated. View of the ocean from the pool and hot. I will be back!!

I was worried after reading the reviews, and receiving a email after I booked about the pools not working but Im glad I didn't cancel based on those two factors. The check in was slow (technical issues) but Terelle at the front desk, ran the front desk by himself and handled it with professionalim, and kindness. He was great!.. I was so happy with our room & view. It had everything I needed as I was traveling with my 3 kids. Full kitchen, kitchenware, etc. for the price, location, view and accommodations I could look past the minor things that need to be updated and understand the new owners JUST walked into a big project & are working towards positive changes. I'm excited to come back next spring break and see all of the improvements!

Great place to go. Even when you see a boat close to the shoreline fishing for crab. It was entertaining 🤣 but also worrisome

Need fan or AC in the room. Wifi never worked. Room was neat clean.

The Stay was pleasant, the room nice and clean with a kitchen so we had the option of going out to eat or stay in our room and fix meals. The staff was very nice and helpful when needed.
There were Pros and Cons about the Hotel.
Pros:
comfortable king size bed and an ocean view.
Pet Friendly
Restaurant on site with good food.
Easy walking distance to all the shops.

Cons:
The hotel is dated and the effects of being on the beach by the ocean is starting to show.
The sliding door was hard to open, the track on the door needs to be lubricated to make it slide easier.
The gas Fireplace should be adjusted to make the flame more visible. You can barely see the flame. It is a lot different from the pictures they show on the hotel site.
The coffee pot is only a two cupper, so if you drink a lot of coffee in the morning you may need to bring your own coffee pot. Also the kitchen has only the bare essentials. I am in the habit of bringing my own coffee pot and dishes along just in case the hotel isn't well supplied.
There is no AC, but being I came in October that was not an issue.

So even with the Cons I came expecting there to be some flaws with an older hotel, the beach location is great and the ocean view worth a million dollars. My only suggestion is that if you come in the summer and don't like the fact there is no Air Conditioning, choose a different hotel.

My son stayed here....I visited his room. It was amazing like the hotel I stayed at (Best Western Plus Ocean View Resort-King Ocean Front Suite). If I can't book at the resort I stayed at, I will definitely make reservations at the Shilo Inns

Had a great time in an oceanfront hotel room! We arrived right at check-in, and it seemed like we weren't the only ones. After a short initial wait in line, the friendly and professional staff assisted us in getting everything set up and in order.

The room we ordered was not ready at the time of check-in, so we were upgraded. My party was very happy with the room we were given. A balcony on the top floor afforded us an excellent view of the sand and surf. We enjoyed the sunset, and the many fires in the beach before setting off into town early the next day.

Will definitely be going here again the next time I decide to take a trip into Seaside.

You can't beat the Real estate. Literally on one of the finest Old Town experiences I have ever had the privilege of exploring. Beautiful shops with plenty for the whole family.
I Absolutely love Sea Side. Shilo just makes it that much more comfortable.

The location hotel was nice. It was right on the beach and at the heart of the city. The hotel rooms could've been nicer, but I'd stay here again. The beds were fine, the rooms could've used some updates tho. The bath floor looked disgusting. They really need to deep clean the bottom of the tubs, that one was discolored and looked dirty.

This hotel is a great value for the money. Ocean front views, and spacious suites right on the boardwalk. If you’re on a budget and want to be near the ocean this is the place to stay. The hotel is in need of updates, but with that the rates would be higher. We stayed for three days and enjoyed our down time from shopping and dining in our room. Lots to do nearby.

Room: This room was nice. On a scale of 1 being ask for a refund to 10 being not a dent in sight, this rates as a 7. Everything was in working order and in decent repair.
Beds: I would rate the beds as almost the most comfortable I've had in a hotel in a very long time. Deep, plush, and four comfy pillows per bed. You can ask for more blankets from the office. They bring nice fluffy ones:)
Kitchenette: Full size coffee maker, mini fridge, 2-burner electric stove, microwave, full set of real dishes and cups/glasses/silverware. Has basic cooking pots, pans, skillets, and tools.
Bathroom: While compact, it does have a full size toilet and bathtub. The bathroom area was in good shape and smelled clean. Lots of towels and soaps/shampoos/lotions.
Room extras: Gas fireplace, smaller TV (works well and you can get DVD movies from the office along with the basic cable provided).
Pool/Hot tub: Yes, it is open year round and indoors. Clean, well cared for. Showers and a bathroom in the pool room as well. Pool is warm, and the hot tub yummy:)
Staff: Friendly, knowledgeable, and on the ball.
Proximity to local amenities: It's a casual walk north along the promenade to shopping, dining, and activities. About 5 minutes at a chill pace.
Ocean View: The only reason it's partial from the bottom floor is because of the sand dunes between the hotel and the water. A quick walk thru the dunes (I'd say 2 minutes) and you're on the beach.
Extra: We went during the week in the off season. Beautiful weather. No cowds:) A lot of the businesses were closed on Wednesday, but almost all were open on Thursday thru at least Monday.

I'm not sure why some of these reviews are negative. I'll be staying here throughout the weekend and I can't say enough good things. I had some business documents I had to print and the printer jammed and the staff not only fixed it, but had all of my items printed by the time I was done using the restroom. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Yeah, the rooms probably need a little updating furniture wise, but for the price, as long as you're not in one of the ocean rooms, can't be beat. The only cheaper place is Motel 6, which is a dump and this place is definitely medium nice. As a business owner, I travel all over and I can't say enough good things about this place. Not sure what is going on with the negative reviews, but they are not substantiated, as far as my stay is concerned. I don't usually take the time to do this, but felt compelled to do so, as the staff went above and beyond. Lastnight was Saturday night and the motel is located near several bars, so some hooting and hollering is to be expected, but it didn't go on too late and the noise could not be heard from the room. This place gets 5 stars from me, very satisfied.

I initially booked through Expedia but there was an issue with the reservation. Michael at the front desk was very accommodating and gave us a better room at a discounted price without me even asking. He was very professional and kind. First time staying at Shilo and in addition to the excellent customer service the rooms are very nice and comfortable with amazing views. My daughter and I just had an amazing trip and stay thanks to Sarah and other staff here. I reserved a room on Priceline and received exceptional service from check in to the time we left. We got a great room on the 4th floor, amazing view of the ocean, clean room, nice size kitchen which saved me money during the trip. I will definitely be coming back.

I’m giving them a 5 star because they upgraded our room and I appreciate the customer service but honestly, this place is disgusting and we won’t be returning, ever. It was outdated, the mattresses were lumpy, the bedding was old, and I woke up with itchy legs, arms, and face. Our first room was so dark and musty with zero natural lighting. We were so disappointed and this was hands down the nastiest place I’ve stayed in which is so unfortunate because we deserved a nice night away.

Stayed for three days/two nights. Perfect and very comfortable experience. Rooms were very clean and kitchenettes were more than adequately outfitted. Staff was friendly, responsive, and professional. Looking forward to our next visit!

Amazing beach views. Staff are so nice and polite however the rooms are a little dated and we had to call for a few missing things. Otherwise it's a great place to take a quick vacation

I wished we had stayed here before. We had an ocean view room on the top floor and it was fantastic! The room was clean and appealing. There was fresh towels without any surprises. :) The staff were very nice and awesome to talk to about anything Seaside and more! We will come back to the Shilo Inn the next time we visit Seaside.

Everything was straight out of the 90s. Loved it. Very clean. It is old, but the beach does that to buildings. The inside is nice. Great location. Made parking bearable at Seaside. Would recommend. Would go again

Went here for my birthday party. The man at the front desk overheard me talking about stealing hotel shampoo and such, and even gave me extra😊. There is also a restaurant right next to it. The rooms were very high quality and the deck had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The pool was open very late -2 am- but the sauna, steam room, and workout room closed at 9. Although the sauna was closed and the lights were off, it was still heated just very dark inside. I had a very nice time at this hotel. It's a little spendy, but it's definitely worth the money.
