Galena River Wine & Cheese

A very nice experience! We had a wine tasting, the gentleman that works there named Scott was helping us out. He was very detailed w/ explaining the product & made us feel very welcome into the establishment. I had no intentions of buying anything, however, I ended up buying two bottles to take w/ me, since Scott had an amazing selling pitch! Highly recommend this place & I would totally come again!! :D

I love this shop. They have a nice selection of cheese, wine, olive oil, whiskey, and more, for all budgets. The grilled cheese is amazing, as it is customizable to the cheese you want. This store is a must stop on every Galena trip for me. My favorite part of the experience is the customer service. Trevor and Siohban are amazing. They are both so knowledgeable and helpful, their customer service is second to none. No pushiness, just helping you find what you want. I would definitely recommend stopping in on your next trip to Galena. There is almost certainly something there for everyone.

I had a great time coming here. The cheese was amazing and the service was spectacular. Trevor was especially nice! He offered some samples and it was the best cheese I've had. My dad and I left with several different cheeses and a good mood.

Fantastic selection of wines and cheese. The grilled cheese sandwiches were yummy, picking the cheese was fun and hard since the selections all look amazing. Tastings available for wine, spirits, olive oil, and balsamic.

Would give Galena River wine and cheese five stars! We were able to taste all the different kinds of cheeses that we wanted to try. My only regret is I wish I would have bought more. We will be back!

Fantastic service! Called to send a gift basket to my parents who are staying at the Irish Cottage in Galena for their anniversary . Xoe put it all together for me, texted me a pic, and it is beautiful. They will be so surprised. Thank you!

I love this place! The owner helped us choose the perfect wines to refill our wine rack and we got a really great whisky recommendation from a gentleman working there! I can't wait to get signed up for their cheese club and will definitely be coming back!!

Great little place run by knowledgeable folks. They have some really great whiskeys in stock, and a selection of fancy cheeses. If you want to spoil yourself, your date, or your friends with a night of fancy snack trays and excellent booze, start here.

Nice selection of quality cheese and sausage. They have variety selection that you don't normally see in a small town like Galena. I was impressed with the European cheese selection. I can only really speak to cheese and sausage. I don't make it to the back room. Where the olive oil, beer, wine, and spirits are sold.

I must rave about the truffle olive oil. I have made several dishes with it. Have used for charcuterie and bread dipping. My friends and family think I am amazing but I have to give true credit to Galena River Wine and Cheese.

I love, love, love this small business, it was such a awesome experience for me, Julie was so attentive to my questions about wine and cheese, the staff was great,friendly and very helpful. We ended up coming home with a delicious selection of wine,cheese. and sausage. We will be returning soon and often.

Amazing place and amazing grilled cheeses!

My wife's family is local and I've been looking for a wine/beer/liquor selection like this in town for a long time. Surprisingly good craft beer options, a solid but small bourbon selection, and the first place I've ever seen Schramm's mead in person. I'll be stopping by every time I come home!

The knowledge they have for not only their own products but others more widely know to compare to is above the standard for most wine shops. I/we also love the pride they put into selecting the cheese for the cheese club.

Favorite cheese shop, stop every time I'm in town. Can taste cheeses which is very helpful to pick what you like. Very knowlegable and wide variety of cheeses from all over the world. Just low inventory now due to covid.

I love this place. The owners are so friendly with me and can talk about wine for hours with them! People who love wine would love this place. They have your typical varietals and regionous old world wines but then they have those hidden gems.

Love this place to try new cheeses and create flights for friends for dinner parties.

No taste-testing which hurts *a lot*. They claim pandemic but it's not like the customer is touching the cheese :/

Best place for a hundred miles for cheese.

It's not a typical tourist trap! The wine and cheese selection here is sophisticated and the owners know what they are doing. It was a very pleasant surprise to find this place and we definitely plan to return.
