Holiday Inn Express & Suites Murphysboro-Carbondale,IL

I stayed four nights at this location for work and I’ll absolutely be back, should the need arise. My room was meticulously clean, almost as if it had never been stayed in before. The bed was comfortable, the AC/heater worked great, and the bathroom was bright and modern.

We spent quite a bit of time working in the lobby area, where they have ample tables and seating. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful, and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was truly the star of the show. It’s obvious the breakfast staff take pride in the service they provide for guests, particularly the older gentleman who was working the first few days of my stay. The tables and food area were clean, the coffee urn was always full, and the breakfast itself was pretty solid for a chain hotel.

I would absolutely recommend this location for anybody looking to stay in the area!

Amazing. We’ve stayed at a lot of places and this ranks #1 so far. We came up from Tampa, FL and so happy we chose Holiday Inn Express.

The rooms are extremely clean, soft beds and pillows. The heating and AC system works flawlessly. Very modern and inviting.

Now comes the best part. Hilton pay attention. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Choice of Eggs, Omelettes, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, fresh cinnamon rolls, juice and coffee. All very delicious. Our last visit in Chattanooga, TN Hilton Double Tree charged $16 for a breakfast which we did not eat.

The staff was also very curious and inviting.

The staff at this hotel have been so helpful, and accommodating. Kimberly was such a joy to see when we walked in and were greeted by her. The pool and workout area was very clean. The rooms were as if they had never been slept in before. The beds were soft and comfy. My family thoroughly have enjoyed being here. Kimberly was also able to give us a few recommendations for restaurants and family friendly activities to enjoy outside of the hotel for our stay! Will for sure be back here since we do travel often! Love the giant muddy monster (bigfoot?) in the lobby!

Even though I wasn’t there yesterday, I was at McDonalds near it, I have stayed here in multiple occasions. The rooms are a little pricey but it’s worth every penny. Everything has been excellent every time I’ve stayed. Plus they have an exception team staffed.

I had to call to make some changes to my reservation during this holiday weekend and spoke with Brandy over the phone.

I initially thought she was a voice recording because she was extremely polite and professional. Just based on the phone interaction alone, I'm giving 5 stars. My partner and I travel all over the world for pleasure/work and always appreciate phenomenal service. Give this woman a raise!

We loved our stay! Amazing costumer service, very friendly and helpful. My favorite part was their breakfast! Finally a place with good food! We would definitely stay here again. Recommend it!

This hotel is a great addition to Murphysboro. It is clean and well managed. Breakfast is great and all of the hotel staff that my family came into contact with were well trained and very friendly. This place was excellent!! Super clean, the entire staff was very nice from the ladies at the front desk, the lady cleaning the rooms, to the folks manning the continental breakfast. At was clean, modern, and in a great location. I will certainly return here

Honestly one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. Everything in the hotel was clean, the service was wonderful, and breakfast was good. What more can you ask for?

Nicest hotel in Southern IL. Beds and pillows were super comfy! (I'm a bed snob!) Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They had a nice breakfast in the mornings! I will stay here every time I visit now!

We have stayed here the last 3 years for Street Machine Nationals. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Tristan who works nights was very friendly and exceptionally helpful. We were down in the lobby late, eating pizza We had ordered when someone came in asking about food places. At that point (after 10pm) I'm pretty sure most every where was closed. So she offered him food that she had that she wasn't going to eat (chicken wings). Not everyone would do that. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back next year

Nice place. Friendly and one hell of the service provided. Restrooms, lobby and the rooms are exceptional well maintained. Would recommend that if you are looking for a place to stay while in Carbondale Illinois, then this is a place you wanna be at.

Happily surprised by how clean and well-maintained this place is. Bright, modern and clean cut decor. The rooms are comfortable with classic additions (tea, coffee, toiletries). The beds and pillows were soft and perfect for a restful night. Automatic blinds!

The free breakfast was better than most similar hotels. Clean with vegetarian options, warm cinnamon rolls, and pancake machine. I wish they had an espresso machine too (lattes, cappuccinos…etc).

The gym was classic with new equipment. We did not use the pool but it looked nice and was open. It’s an empty and quiet area just around the hotel. It’s right off of Walnut street which is a main road with great restaurants and a cafe (Cold Blooded cafe 👌🏽).

Friendly service. The only complaint I have is that we were in a room that had a joining door. The first night was fine, but second night there were guests in the room and there is no sound insulation.

Love this hotel!! It was perfect for a work trip. Super clean, excellent customer service, comfy beds. Would definitely stay again.

Today is Feb 22, 2023. This place just offered me the best experience I have ever had.
1) very clean. (this is very important to me)
2) very quiet. (this is very important to me)
3) the curtain works well.
4) when there is an issue, the front desk will deal with it immediately. If cannot get fixed, they will help you to switch to a different room, immediately.
5) staff are very friendly and kind. I need to print a lot for my job fair. I printed more than 40 pages. they helped me happily.
6) they also helped me with my dress, making me look better.
7) breakfast tastes good.
8) get my checkout extended.

My only disappointment was the ‘heated’ pool was chilly! I did my best to have a staff member verify the heater wasn’t on its way to going out and Beth at customer service could have cared less. 😅 So, other than the cold pool and Beth, my stay was superb!!

Beautiful, clean hotel with an amazing staff! The employees at breakfast were so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to check in with everyone eating. While the front desk employee was quickly solving an issue with our keys, we mentioned to her that we would be leaving very early in the morning. About 10 minutes later, she personally brought grab bags up to our room for all of us with breakfast, snacks, and drinks. She said, “To help you get a start on your early morning.” It was so unexpected and kind!

The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The hotel is super clean and very nice. The beds are pretty firm which was the only complaint I had. Exceptional service and quality for the price. I definitely recommend!
