This is one of the best places to get a sub anywhere. On top of that, everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Ordered the Alpine and a roast beef sandwich with giardiniera. The giardiniera is fantastic here and I'll be picking up a jar on my next visit. The bread is fresh and has the right amount of chew. The meat and cheese are freshly sliced and the vinegar and oil mix goes perfectly with the lettuce and tomato.

I've been getting subs here for 10+ years and it's never let me down. Delicious sub sandwiches and very friendly staff. I highly recommend the signature Alpine sub. Price is also very affordable for what you get. This is definitely a staple in the area that you need to check out.

First job was working here many years ago and the delicious taste of Alpine often saunters into my mind around lunchtime. I've worked at many sandwich places coincidentally, Subway, Jimmy John's but there's a homely, "Chicago" feel to Alpine in Elmwood Park. The food is delicious, I love the corned beef, roast beef and mushroom sandwiches. That's what I wish more sandwich places had, delicious mushrooms. I've seen the care that goes into the subtleties of ingredients. I fell in love with giardenaria here, I love a spicy sandwhich. In comparison Subway just flops the ingredients soullessly in a bowl, Jimmy John's can be either meticulous or soggy, usually with little wiggle room in between. Alpine has a care behind the business, a character in its intimacy with the customer and a love for food. What I would LOVE to see is a collaboration with doordash, Grubhub or Uber Eats.

I just showed up on a Saturday morning at 10:15 and ordered (16) 18 inch original Alpines with mayo and they completed my order in 15 minutes. Amazing customer service by the entire crew.

If you've talked to anyone in the area, you'll know that Alpine is the best sandwich shop around. High quality ingredients and simple sandwiches, that's all it takes. Ordering can be a bit intimidating as it's usually fairly crowded, but the staff is friendly and they'll help you through it. Parking can also be an issue, but you can usually find spots around back.

I've been going here since I've been a kid. Hands down one of the best subs I've ever had. Everyone there is friendly and greet you when you walk in. Great family business.

I go out of my way to stop here. I always pick up a few Italian subs to go. The subs are so good they inspired me to make my own subs in their honor since i am to far away to get there every day! I also grab there frozen meatballs and sauce which are to die for.

Have stopped Alpine since early 50's family friends with original owners Loui and Anna Barbi. Quality and freshness still unbeatable. Love that place!
