Rock Cut State Park Campground Permit Office

Beautiful campground! Lots of tent and RV camping spots. There is a little cafe with ice cream, coffee, and food right by the water as well. They have a convenience store with worms and other fishing supplies. The campground was peaceful and easy to find. Great place to take kids. Dog friendly as well.

We wanted to go here for a few years. Finally got up the courage to go. We absolutely love this place. My wife and kids and I had a great time we had to go back a second time. 2 weekends in a row. I'm thinking we're going to have to make this a new stop every weekend. Tent sites are nice and clean and ready to go when you arrive. Parking for 2 cars done of them have more parking. Campers are welcome with power hookups.

Extremely nice campground, many private sights, & one large open area that accommodates dozens of RVs (great for groups). Hiking trails are well kept, along with the entire campground area. The lake is BEAUTIFUL…fishing allowed, no swimming. Always enjoy our stay at Rock Cut.

Awesome campground. You can just chill by your campsite. You can rent kayaks and other boats. You can go fishing. You can not have alcohol .

We had a GREAT weekend at Rock Cut! Sites were big, lots of great walking paths, friendly staff! Bathrooms could use some love but you’re camping... I don’t usually expect luxury bathrooms at a stare campground! Can’t wait to go back!

Very good camp ground areas. Has a ton of RV parking with hook ups and showers, bathrooms. Love some of the tent camps overlooking the lake

A camping and RV'ing jem in Northern Illinois. The campground is secluded yet you are close to fantastic food, trails, golf and shopping. Bring your mountain bike!

Rock cut state park campgrounds is a great place to spend a good part of our summer. The campgrounds are kept clean and most of all the campsites backed up by the woods are designed with thick strips of trees between your site and the neighboring site making it feel like your neighboring camp isn't there or close. They have a little store so if you're like most of the campers and forget to pack something, the chances are they will have it for sale in the campground store. There are several restrooms and showers located throughout the camps. Definitely book your site ahead of time because the campgrounds fill up fast. Iv had to wait for a site to open up several times because they had been completely full with no empty campsites. Everyone in our group had a great time and said we will be camping with them again soon.

Very nice campground. Road is a little bumpy. Some low trees. Look up, there are some widow maker trees that need to be cut down. Trash can be a walk. Water is around. Dump station is good except no garden hose bib to rinse. Quite.

Rock Cut is our "go to" campground for many reasons. It's fairly close. Great camping spots reservable online. Pierce Lake is peaceful and beautiful, especially for kayaking and fishing. There are a lot of trails for walking and biking. Pet friendly. I highly recommend RCSP.

Like most Illinois state parks, there aren't many people around on weekdays. No complaints at all about maintenance and operations in the park or campground

Rock Cut is a great park with excellent camping facilities. We stop here every year on our trip to see family in Wisconsin. convenient to I90, the main highway, yet secluded and quiet. Beautiful beaches and boating.

It's a well-maintained forest preserve Campground. They have BBQ Pits. It's great place for hiking and biking! Also you can drive right alongside the beautiful glistening Lake. There you will see fishermen in their fishing boats pulling in their catch. There's a Pier you could fish from the pier or perhaps launcher boat there. It's a place to go and relax and enjoy the fresh air and nature.

The staff was very nice considering we arrived during a shift change, didn't have a reservation and they were book to near full capacity. They found a spot for us and even offered an alternative if we wanted it. I'm very happy with the Rock cut State Park Campground Permit office and their staff.

Great camping park. Staff are doing well to keep Rock Cut Park operating up to its typical high standards. All this despite covid-19 restrictions in place at this time.
