Claunch Café

I love Claunch Cafe! It has a great atmosphere and a wonderful view. The owner is incredibly nice.He was always friendly and walked in with a smile when I worked at foodland. He would even bring us all lunch - my favorite was the chicken tender and buffalo tender salad. If you're visiting for the festivals and other fun events, this is a must-try!

I was visiting my daughter and we decided to go here based on the reviews. It was good home cooked food. We went for Sunday lunch. You order from your car and they give it to you to go. I recommend looking up the menu online because they have a long line of cars and no menu to view. I got the chicken & dressing with sweet potato casserole. It was really good. I couldn't eat it all.

A pleasant surprise! Returning home after decades away, this place came highly recommended and I can see why. The food was perfect and a great example of southern cooking, our servers were fantastic and hospitable, and the prices were exceptional for the amount of food we were served.

It’s clear they have a dedicated returning customer base, but for anyone passing through (or those that live local that haven’t made a visit just yet) plan to stop in for an amazing lunch.

Amazing food! I got the taco salad and mom got the country fried steak (both Wednesday's only). We loved it! The staff was nice as well!!

Ate here for the 1st time today during a trip to leisure trip to Tuscumbia from middle Tennessee. The food is excellent. I had the spinach quiche from the daily specials choices. My friend had the fried chicken Tues. special. She said it was so tender and delicious. I also had the key lime pie, the best I have ever tasted (& I have had many slices.) I can't wait to return to this great restaurant.

My husband and I treated ourselves today for lunch. Everything was delicious! We will be back!

Claunch Cafe is a great place for lunch. Everything on the menu is delicious. Their daily lunch specials are always good and served quickly. The pecan chicken salad plate is one of the best around; that’s what I chose today. No regrets!

Absolutely love Claunch Cafe. Their food is fantastic, and like many, my favorite is the chicken salad plate with fresh fruit, glazed nut bread, and “pink fluff”. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and they just generally know how to make sure you leave full and happy! If you are in Tuscumbia, AL, you must come to Claunch Cafe!!!

I had their Turnip Green soup. I had never heard of it and I enjoy new tastes.
Absolutely delicious. Then key lime pie. By far THE BEST key lime pie this tongue has ever had roll across it. Wow.

I got the Roast Beef Sandwich which had a surprisingly delicious 🤤 taste to it, almost a horseradish but not overdone. Excellent Gordon Ramsey Fresh Quality!

My favorite Sunday dinner!! Everything is delicious!! The chicken and dressing is so fantastic, I bought a pan to serve my family and friends for Christmas. They said it was AMAZING! The fried chicken plate is the best value-- 3 side items including sensational squash casserole!

Long time family owned diner. Food was good, and similar to what grandma cooked. In fact I believe many of their recipes are hers. The interior is nice but nothing special. What is special is their park setting tucked aside nature, perfect for an after lunch stroll. We heard the chicken salad was a favorite so we had some to-go. It was good with pecans. Friendly staff and had a chat with the 3rd Gen owner who beamed with pride.

This is one of the BEST places to eat in the Shoals! My personal favorite is their fried chicken plate. Everything just seems to taste fresh. I am a tour guide at one of the area home museums, tourists are constantly asking me where to eat. Claunch's is always my answer, and it is also a wonderful choice for those who have MSG allergies!

Best fried chicken EVER and then there were the pies. Oh my!!

We stumbled upon the jewel by accident— starving but unsure of anything but fast food in area. I had an unique soup- turnip green...really good. Desserts are great. Now I’ve been back 2 more times— not disappointed and each time I’ve had a “special” of the day.

I got the Chicken Salad with fresh fruit. They gave me tons of fruit and the chicken salad was delicious! My husband had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was a huge burger and the fries were very hot and fresh. Great service!

Really good Southern cooking. Generous portions. The biggest problem with Claunch's (aside from banana pudding no longer being on the menu) is that it makes you wish it was open more (Sun-Thur, 11 am to 2 pm). Nothing fancy inside but in a pleasant corner of lovely little Spring Park.
