Galenas Tajin Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Came for margaritas and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. Near the time I was ready to leave, I noticed a “CASH ONLY” sign on the back of the register, which sent me into a panic as I only had a credit card on me; however, they do accept credit cards. (Staff: maybe remove this sign if it’s no longer true)

The food was amazing! And the margaritas second to none! You can taste the passion and love that goes into each dish they make! Excited to come back! We loved it so much we booked them for our wedding! 🥰 you have to try this place! Family owned and lots of passion in what they do! Everything is homemade and the prices reflect that, worth it!

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. The margaritas were outstanding made with fresh fruit juice. All of the food we ordered was amazing and homemade. The staff were wonderful, so nice and accommodating. Prices are higher than a typical Mexican restaurant but completely worth it.

We are so happy to have stopped in for lunch on our trip to Galena. The food was delicious and the margaritas were amazing! Super adorable family owned restaurant. We will definitely come back next time we are in town.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. We made a last minute reservation for 15 people for my sisters bachelorette weekend and they were so accommodating for us even with little notice! They made the night amazing, the staff was so nice and welcoming. Great food and wonderful service, would highly recommend and would definitely go back here. Such a kind group of people work here, they made our night special.

Miguel and his family are wonderful people, and they serve some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine in the area. Worth the time if you are hungry. You won't be disappointed.

Get a Margarita! Everything is made fresh in front of you at the bar. Strawberry Jalapeño marg and avocado margarita were excellent. Didn’t have the food, but looked great.

Amazing margaritas!! The food prices had our group feeling a little off, but when the food came out we realized it was definitely worth it! The food was amazing and tasted fresh. We will all certainly be back.

We just stopped to get a snack and what a surprise. Best Mexican food we have had in forever. Everything was so incredibly fresh, salsa is homemade and margaritas are made w real fruit. We will stop by again this trip as it was so good!

The Best Margaritas in the world! No mixes, fresh ingredients, and good tequila. Miguel is a real craftsman when it comes to mixing any of the specialty cocktails offered. My wife and I have been here dozens of times and brought several friends and everyone loves the drinks and food. It’s not cheap, but not expensive…you pay for the quality of the food and fresh cocktails. I’d rather spend a few extra bucks for these delicious offerings on beautiful Main St Galena, then save a few bucks for poor subpar quality and premixed cocktails in a strip mall. This is a family operation with personal attention, good service and a hard-working, small staff. The restaurant quaint, clean and comfortable. Always happy to eat there. Food was authentic and delicious. Homemade Mexican fair. They have both Mexican and American tacos. We opted for the Mexican option and it was delicious. Hot sauce is homemade and the best you will find anywhere.

This family owned business is a gem! The margaritas are exceptional. The food delicious. But the owners/staff make you part of the family and want your experience to be 5 star. Can’t wait to go back.

Best margarita in the state. Seriously. I’ve had more margs than I care to say but Tajin provides the highest quality and most care to a drink than I have seen in a long long time. Terribly kind folks and a great experience all around.

The restaurant was beautiful. We took our Mom for her 60th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the kind and friendly staff as well as our delicious and filling meals. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Great food and service. Authentic food and large portions. Very affordable. Great tequila selection. Centenario and Sprite was perfect.

We enjoyed a birthday dinner for our son's 26th birthday. We were seated in a table by the large front window. It was fun to watch the cars and people passing. The food and service were amazing. Our son received a complementary appetizer and dessert for his birthday. We also ordered guacamole and chips which were delicious. The owners brought instruments and we all played and sang happy birthday. It was a very fun night.
