Cowford Campground

Wonderful place to camp. It's so relaxing and most sites are right on the river. Ms Janie keeps the place looking great. She's so kind and helpful. We stayed for 3 months in the off-season. She let us know the site was available for the month so we set up our camper again.

We love Cowford. This is our 4th year out here. It's calm and peaceful and being right here at the river is a plus. We love that there's woods all around and the wildlife is a welcome blessing. We love the little fat squirrels.

The camp is kinda small to have 53 lots. And with the huge pine trees, getting in some of the lots can be tight. But there is plenty of shade to say the least. There is a wonderful view of the Tennessee River and the sun rises from across the river. They have gated access, a boat launch and swimming area.The they have full hook-ups, 30amp and 50amp. A bath house is available, but not sure if it's year round or not. So far the camp is pretty much quiet as a mouse.

The manager lives on-site and I think the maintenance guy does too. The manager is awesome, she is a cut up. When I called to get my lot she told me "cash, check, or money order, no chickens" lol. I didn't ask if the lot prices are all the same but my lot is $367.50 per month, which is MORE than reasonable all things considered. I thought that was an odd amount, but maybe thats another piece of humor.

We have stayed there for a couple of months in the fall and it is a fantastic campground. It is small but the people there are so friendly we felt as though we had stayed there many many times. Janey is in charge of the campground and she is amazing and one of the hardest working women I have ever seen.If she is not on her lawnmower she is on the tractor or weed eating or with a blower in her hand. She goes out of her way to help everyone out to make sure that their stay is a pleasure. While we were camping there was a Birthday party for Wade (Janey's helper) that we were invited to that was awesome with lots of food and the party would have until a storm came up. We were also invited to a fish fry by Celesta and the fish was the best I had in a long time. Thank you Celesta A Freeman and Wade Bivens yall are awesome fish fryers. It's hard to get a spot there but well worth the wait. Thank you Janey Bailey, Wade and the rest of the campers there for a great stay! !

Place is absolutely gorgeous and staff is probably one of the most caring and nicest people we have met on the road. Very quite and beautiful atmosphere!

I’m staying here while working at Browns Ferry. This is a great place to stay and well-kept for the most part. Perfect for boating & swimming. The only thing that I can complain about is the some of the long term campers with their drunken noise at night. I don’t think this is the fault of the campground but it certainly should be noted. Over all I highly recommend staying here.

Great place to take your family! I personally stay as much as possible! Lots of fun. Quiet, relaxing, family oriented!

Janie is THE BEST. She's so kind. The camp ground is beautiful. It has on site washer and dryers. Public and private restrooms. Great outdoor fun. A place where a kid can forget the cell phones and throw rocks in the river!

Great friendly environment! We used to go to point mallard to camp but this place is 10 times better, Cowford has a home sweet home kind of vibe to it.
