Love the ferry. Captain is very nice man and I feel bad for him because he just rented a house that is about to be auctioned off due to probate settlement. Person rented property illegally and water to both houses come from one well and is contaminated with heavy metals, including mercury.

I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR THE CUMBERLAND CITY FERRY,It sure does save me a lot of time and miles off of my drive to work. The crew and captain are always very courteous to customers and for the .75 cents they charge you to cross it is a very good deal.I hope they continue to operate for a very long time to come it sure is a big help to very many people.

First time on a small river ferry. The last one was to Alcatraz 😉 This wasn't as adventurous as Alcatraz however, it is an extremely inexpensive life experience. Just make you have a buck (I was charged .75 cents) to ride across to Riversbend side, the way back is free. You're greeted by a deck hand who takes care of monetary transactions, answers questions and etcetera. Didn't try to meet the captain, but he obviously knew what he was doing.

Great trip, regardless of what you are driving. I recently rode across several times with heavy farm equipment. Great shortcut!

Great way to shave time off your trip if you need to cut some distance and it applies. Cheap to travel across, and come on, it's a ferry!

If your point A and B is opposite sides of the river I would highly recommend the ferry.

Wonderful; always reliable. Closed on Sundays; inconvenience if that's the day you have to visit someone over yonder, for sure... but helpful every other day of the week!
