Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital

We love Animal Kingdom! We found them when we added 2 rabbits to our family, as they are one of few vets in the area that are knowledgeable about the species. We were so impressed we decided to bring all our fur babies to them. Dr. Highsmith and her staff are kind, compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s nice to have a vet and staff that remember us and our pets. They are reasonably priced as well! When we had our rabbits spayed & neutered, their price was about half of what we were quoted at another veterinary office and Animal Kingdom accepted spca vouchers to use towards the service. To me, this shows that they care more about the community and families they serve rather than gouging them unnecessarily. Today we had our sweet, 14 year old, mixed breed dog put down. He was old, tired and had become very uncomfortable. The staff was again kind and compassionate, explaining everything in advance and again along the way during the emotional event. We will continue to travel from Fuquay to see Dr. Highsmith and her staff as long as we have fur babies.

My pup and I absolutely love the entire staff at Animal Kingdom! I can tell that they’re kind to my dog because he’s always licking their faces when they carry him. They’re more than happy to answer all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I can’t ask for a better vet practice! Thanks for taking such good care of my little Moose!

I've been bringing my guinea pigs & cat to Animal Kingdom for years. Dr. Highsmith and the rest of the staff are always kind, helpful, and quick to see us. My pets have all been given great care. I appreciate how they are always straightforward and realistic about care options. I've never felt pressured into unnecessary or pricey procedures. Thankful to have you guys! Highly recommend!!

In my opinion Dr. Highsmith and the Animal Kingdom staff are the best in the area, for the health care of rabbits. They have taken care of 3 of my fur babies. I trust them completely. I highly recommend them.

I drive over an hour to Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital for the annual check ups for my two rabbits and will continue to do so. I always have great experiences here whether it is for regular annual exams for for bigger visits like surgeries. I recommend this veterinary hospital primarily for the quality care Dr. Highsmith provides to my pets. She is also so kind, gentle, and thorough. I am always amazed that my usually skiddish bunnies seem so calm in her arms. Also notable is how pleasant the staff always is and the fair pricing.

Our little bunnies have received the finest care at Animal Kingdom! Dr. Meredith is gentle but thorough in her examinations and provides excellent advice regarding care. Her team is pleasant and also handles them with care and gentleness. We won't go anywhere else.

I’ve been taking my bunnies here for the past several years. The employees are all extremely knowledgeable about rabbits and very friendly. Even my squirmy angry bunny is calm and chill when he comes here(wish he’d be like that at home lol!) Great vet for rabbit owners, I highly recommend them.

Love Dr. Highsmith and all of her staff, including three-legged Noel. Dr. Highsmith brings three decades of experience to diagnosing and problem-solving my old lady cat's health concerns. She is practical, concerned, loves animals in a way you can tell, and is reasonably priced too. It's getting harder and harder to find privately owned, non-consolidated vet practices, and I am grateful for Dr. Highsmith and her team.

We found Animal Kingdom when we brought a bunny into our family. Thank goodness there's such a wonderful vet in the area for rabbits! Our bunny girl was spayed recently and it was hard convincing her to take it easy after the surgery. She recovered so quickly it was like it never happened! It's a relief to have these professionals as our bunny support.

I absolutely loved Animal Kingdom they seemed very knowledgeable, welcoming, and truly cared for my rabbit. The flat pay for a rabbit spay was around $320 for me but i opted for preanesthetic screen, laser surgery, and the pain management package. I also included the receipt if yall wanna research the additional packages with the prices before your appointment. They explained to me what to do before her surgery and had me bring in hay, pellets, and greens so Josie could eat after and not risk GI stasis. They also gave me printed instructions for how to care for her after along with how to feed her her pain medication. My favorite thing they did was how they called me to check up on Josie for the next 2 days after her spay to make sure she was eating and gave me tips for how to check the incision.
It's been a week since the spay and my bunny is back to normal and doing great thanks to their amazing team. I think it was well worth the money and I will definitely be coming back for all of my bunny care needs. They also have a few adorable vet cats that were extremely cute and friendly that helped calm my nerves when dropping off my bunny. They made this stressful process a breeze and there is no doubt in my mind that they are truly the best veterinary hospital for rabbits in this area.

Dr. Highsmith and her team have consistently offered high quality care for our pets. We love the intimate, cozy feeling of their smaller practice and the sense that we really know the team working on our animals. They've always been super understanding of our circumstances, as we've needed to reschedule our appointments several times for personal reasons, and have always gotten back to us quickly whenever we've called with any questions or concerns! Phenomenal team, we greatly appreciate all of the work that you've done for us and our fuzzy family members!

Very pleased with the initial appointment for Comet (bunny). Everyone was friendly and showed a great caring for Comet. Dr. Highsmith did a very through exam and spent a good amount of time discussing my questions and concerns.

I brought my bunnies to be neutered. They did a great job. The bunnies recovered nicely. Friendly and professional service. Very caring vet.

We absolutely love this vet. They were very knowledgeable, affordable, super gentle and friendly with our dog, and really had a way of putting us and our dog at ease. I asked them if they would be able to explain possible costs of a procedure our dog may need in the future and they went ahead and sent a detailed cost estimate to my email, and at no point did they attempt to sell anything to us or surprise us with random charges. Our old vet always tried to sell us stuff and we’d always leave with a massive bill. I drove about an hour to animal kingdom because from the reviews they seemed like a better option and I was so right. We will definitely be returning. Worth the hour drive for sure.

Doctor and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. When I first took my little girl Malibu (1 year old pit-bull) for pneumonia they greatly took care of her. Doctor came and explained what was going on in a simple language without using jargons.
Second time was also very smooth and easy process. Lovely, kind staff and doctor herself is absolutely amazing.
Compared to most other vets it is affordable as well.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a genuine, caring veterinarian clinic in Cary.

Dr Pooch is absolutely wonderful! My Rio Rose didn't mind being at the vet's office for once. She didn't even want to leave and wanted to go back in the building not sure if that was because she had a great experience or better she met a kitty cat she liked on the way out. Definitely will be back!

Our family loves our cat, and we appreciate top care for her. Stella is getting older, and we make sure she gets regular checkups and keeps up her vaccines so she will be part of our family for a long time. Dr Highsmith is caring, and the office staff are helpful.
