Sonny's Cafe

Have eaten here for years and it is always delicious! Lots of choices. I usually have the fried catfish but the burgers, chicken sandwich/salad is also favorites. Atmosphere is of Old signs and taxidermy with wooden benches for seats in the booths. The service is always great no matter how busy they seem to be and the food comes out fast!

This is a must visit for southern comfort food. The chili is on point and they make my favorite chicken fried steak in the state! If they have the cinnamon rolls you have got to get one! It reheats beautifully and is nice and gooey. The service is always prompt and it has a nice relaxed rustic vibe. I really can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Very nice place with a rustic feel to it. The food was wonderful. If you have read my posts, you know I love a good chicken fry. Chicken fry here was huge, and the breading was very well seasoned without the oily aftertaste. I like my okra really fried, and they didn't disappoint. Okra breading was well seasoned, also. The service was excellent as well. We're already making plans to go back.

Chicken fried steak was huge, falling off the plate and not greasy. Great customer service. Mushroom appetizer was really good too.

This was my first time coming here. Tyler was the server, and he really gave exceptional service. He made a few suggestions. I went with the sirloin.. mashed potatoes.. salad... sweet tea.. and blackberry cobbler.. the food was AMAZING!.. I would make this drive weekly or more.. the place is set up so cute and vintage.. I would definitely recommend the drive to Purcell .. and if you get Tyler, then that is just the icing on the cake.. I never had gravy with my steak. I have to admit that this was really actually a good choice.. I was surprised at first when he brought the food out.. but it definitely spoke for itself.. I actually ate everything and no take-home box.. and the food proportions were pretty nice.. oh, and fried mushrooms for the appetizer... I almost forgot.. I definitely recommend.. I can't wait to make another trip to this little cafe again soon... ☺

This is one of the most delicious places to eat, hands down. The staff is so incredibly friendly, too. The pie lady brought out a plate of desserts and while we hadn’t intended to get dessert, we couldn’t help it after seeing the desserts in person. She also notified us of their fish specials on Friday and Saturdays. She even brought out a couple small pieces just so we could try it. I’m not much of a fish person, but that fish was incredible. My daughter really doesn’t like fish, but after one bite she was tearing into the rest. The chicken fried chicken was perfect - whether you’re enjoying it with mashed potatoes and corn or on a bun with bacon and cheese. Most places the fries are decent but you really just dip the fries anyhow. These fries are good on their own with nothing else. The ranch is out of this world and the desserts are simply heavenly. You NEED to eat at Sonny’s. Make it a goal.

Hands down the best chicken fried steak I've had. Need to go back and try that Monster Cheese Burger I seen

There was about a 20-30 minute wait, but there are NO other good dining restaurants to choose from, so all 6,500 folks from this town dine here.

Calf Chips are fried testicles--so don't think these are the way the town folk call "steak fries."

I ordered the sausage plate with a baked potato ...10/10.

The chicken fried chicken with the white gravy was tasty, too.

This is the place to come in Purcell Oklahoma. Food, service, and atmosphere is amazing. We've been here several times and will continue to come back. The entire staff are good people. But Katrina is our favorite waitress. She has a bubbly personality and takes great care of us.

I ordered fried chicken steak with fried okra and mashed potatoes along with dinner salad. Very good food.
The space and decorations are something interesting to look at. Nice parking lot.

Delicious , wonderful atmosphere. Love all the decorations. Feels like you’re in your grandmas kitchen eating a home cooked meal .

Great down home country feel. Service is great even considering they are busy during peak hours.
Fried Catfish Specials going on...also mix and match the sides with their amazing chicken fried steak/chicken.
And save room for their homemade pies and cobblers!!

This was our 1st time to try Sonny's out. It was all so good! The chicken fry was amazing! We will definitely be going back when we're around that area again.

We went back again with our grandson’s. It was amazing just like last time. We tried the chicken fry & fish this time. We’ll be back in Nov.

the food here is really good! we stopped by for lunch and i was pleased with my experience. i got the santa fe salad and it was HUGE and so delicious! the severs were really nice and super fast aswell. the decorations are also so cool! i’d recommend trying this place out :)

This place has A LOT of character inside!!! Staff is very friendly. I've only tried the grilled chicken salad but it was very enjoyable! The salad was so large I couldn't hardly eat it all. I was shocked to find out they even sell chili beans!! I will go back to try them soon. There's a large parking space so semi tractor trailers can park (I was in one). I love all of the decorations at this cafe. A country southern feel with that southern hospitality! Check them out of your near!!

Shout out to Sonny’s in Purcell! Stopped in with friends last weekend on the way to an investigation 👻 Our food was wonderful & our waitress Julie was amazing! Great place to stop in for a bite to eat 🥘🍴

P.S. yes I couldn’t decide on which pie so I split coconut cream & pecan with my friend John 😂 🥧

We came to Purcell to visit family from Texas. Wanted to find a good breakfast restaurant. We definitely found the best A+ restaurant in town. Thanks for an awesome dining experience.

The food was delicious and the service was awesome, great atmosphere, clean and just a all around great place to eat!!!
