VCA Parkway Animal Hospital

My experience with VCA was exceptional! Dr. Katie Smith goes above and beyond to care for my fur baby and I am so grateful to her for providing the best care possible.

Everyone in the practice is knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this practice for anyone seeking veterinary care.

VCA Parkway is amazing. Helen helped me book (and cancel) several appointments for a feral I tried to catch (unsuccessful in the end) before I moved to Garner. Her positivity kept me from tears when I had to call and cancel after he escaped the trap. Then she was able to squeeze me in for a new feral I caught 4 days after moving. Dr. Smith took great care of our feral, Corey, and provided a lot of information about taking care of him (hopefully indoors forever) and the other ferals outside.

I hope to begin trapping the other ferals soon. :)

I've never seen a more caring facility that not only cares for the animals' needs but the owner needs as well! I had 3 animals under the care of Dr. Hennessey, and there's another female Dr. on premises, I forgot her name that expertise with animals is amazing! Thanking God for them and the VCA team!

Great staff and top notch pet care. We've been going here for around 30 years now. At this point, I'm a little disappointed they haven't named a wing after us... But otherwise I have nothing but great things to say about them. They have helped us welcome every one of our new pets, Care for them and, when the time came, lead them from this world with care and compassion. Love these guys and wouldn't ever go anywhere else.

Dr Smith is fantastic! I’ve never had a vet who communicates as informatively and honestly as her. She lays out all my options and gives very honest opinions on the course she recommends. She’s very friendly and great with my pups

I had a great experience with the staff. Felt really assured with their professionalism.

We took our 2 dogs there as new patients. Jack is a rambunctious 2-year-old Pit/Lab mix. They were kind and patient with him. Rocky is an old man...10 years old. Rocky has a lot of fear-driven behaviors. Everyone was kind to him as well. They went slow and were patient when he barked every time they came in the door. Thank you for loving our fur babies as we do. AND! They gave us a great referral for an eye vet for Jack. Thank you!

We have never been here, but I had seen great reviews online and by word of mouth, and planned on switching vets to this animal hospital. When my dog, Max was hit by a car, an employee’s daughter happened to be on the scene and called her mother. Katie drove to work late at night, met her daughter who was carrying my dog, scanned her microchip, and called me to break the news. My husband picked up the phone, as I had hastily run out to the car to go look for my dog, without my phone, about 20 minutes earlier. When I got home, I heard the news and called Katie back. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me while I sobbed. She cried with me and comforted me. This was a week ago. Today, we received Max’s ashes. The cremation service didn’t offer any type of sentimental keepsake. My husband told me that Katie had taken it upon herself to get a paw print. When I opened the envelope and saw that there was also a print of her nose, I cried for a bit, and then started writing this review. The employees at this place truly love animals, but the compassion I have received from them shows that they care about pet owners just as much. I will forever be grateful.

We have taken our kitties several times now and the doctors and staff are always friendly and professional.

Everyone at VCA Parkway is so kind, caring and helpful. I drop off my cats because of work and they are so good about keeping me informed at every step. Dr's Smith and Hennessy go over all the aspects of their diagnosis and carefully explain options and prognosis.
I highly recommend the good people here!! Thank you for all the hard work you do!!!

Dr. Katie has been amazing with my two senior cats. They both have dental issues and she has explained everything each step of the way with their care plan. When an issue with one of the boys teeth turned out to be a special case, she has reached out to a specialist and said that she very much wanted to schedule the procedure when she could be there to observe. That is what I call a real pro. Not only knowing when to seek additional input but wanting to be there to learn so future feline patients will benefit. 5 stars!!!

I cannot speak highly enough about this facility! The entire staff from reception to vet techs to actual veterinarians have been so amazing in the 6 months that I have been bringing my dog. They saw her as a 10 week old puppy and were so thorough in the first few visits making sure that I knew what they were doing and why. They have taken the time to educate me as well. My dog just recently broke her leg, and they have exceeded all expectations when it comes to her care- including answering any and all questions and accommodating multiple visits and phone calls. My dog LOVES this office and that makes for a very happy owner. Definitely give them a visit!

I have being taking my Shih Tzu here for 10.75 years and I would highly recommend Parkway to anyone looking for a vet. I have seen Maxine and she is my favorite Vet so loving and caring for all the animals. I have also see Katie and she is great as well. They call and check on my doggie when he has been sick. They don't rush appointments and take time explaining and answering questions. Also, I have my dog groomed here and I am pleased with the groomer as well. Look no further for a quality vet.

I have been bringing Pepsi (my rescue) here since she was a puppy and I 100% trust the vets at this practice. I have met with Dr. Gilvey and Dr. Smith and they both bring extra care and love into each office visit. When Pepsi was bit by another dog Dr. Gilvey was awesome. Dr. Smith has been great helping me with my Pepsi anxiety (excess barking). Can't recommend highly enough Parkway Animal Hospital!

We have been taking our cats to Dr Gilvey for many years. She is very knowledgeable and up to date on treatment options and always takes the time to listen to any and all concerns. The staff at Parkway is also stellar!

Dr. Katie Smith is WONDERFUL!!! The compassion she has for animals is bar none. She traveled a long and heartbreaking road with my boy Charlie when he was sick and I now turn to her for my little Bun Bun.

I've been bringing my kitties to VCA Parkway Animal Hospital for the past 10 years and trust I am always given reccomendations for the best care. Parkway is always willing to answer my questions and go the extra mile in communication. Parkway knows my pets by name and treats them like family.

Once again, Dr Gilvey has exceeded my expectations and has provided the best care for my old puppy. She walked me through the exam for an eye infection and seemingly cracked tooth that would require removal. She stayed late that evening to run some last minute blood work and called me that night with the results - then again the next afternoon after the surgery. Poor Shadow didn't need her tooth pulled after all, but if it had been any other vet, it would have come out for lack of 1) caring 2) thoroughness. I would never consider going anywhere else, especially after the dreadful mess another vet in town left my poor dog in years back that Dr. Gilvey had to correct. For those that may balk at a seemingly higher price than other vets in the area, there is only 1 thing I can say - you get what you pay for.
