I was locked out of my house for an hour and had no way of getting in. A very kind Police Officer, Badge 351 was in the neighborhood assisting with a morning prowler call and was more than helpful! He worked on my door to let me in. It just goes to show you that Sandy Springs hires only the best! Thank you!

You know cops have bad days and good like all people. I got pulled over the other night. I was sick and had a very long day. The officer was very quick with my warning Ticket and very understanding. Probably the fastest traffic stop I have ever been involved in. To this location my I have met quite a few officers from sandy springs and all have been professional and well mannered. Thank you for your service

About a year ago today I had an accident where I accidentally bumped the rear end of another car at a traffic stop. Me and the other driver moved to the side of the road to not block traffic. The other driver had called Sandy Springs police. It was hot and my daughter was with me. She was crying and I was consoling her. About 15 minutes had passed and a Sandy Springs police car drove up. He apologized that the assigned officer was running late. To my recollection, the officer offered the other driver and I some cold bottled water that they just happened to have in their cooler while we waited. The other driver and I thanked the officer and respectfully declined the water. They drove off. Five minutes later the police officer that was assigned to our accident arrived. The officer asked me what happened and during that time my 6 year old daughter was crying and pleading with the officer to not take me to jail. The officer kneeled down and told her that this was not going to happen and she stopped crying. I admitted that it was my fault. I thought that the other driver was going to proceed through the yellow light but he stopped and I was going to fast and that’s when I rear ended the other car. The other driver was not hurt but her had a big scratch on his bumper. In the front of my SUV it was dented and there was a little smoke coming from the engine. The officer listened to me as I apologized profusely. To my surprise, I was given a warning. The officer asked me if I needed a tow truck. I said no and that I will just drive the car to the dealership and have them work on the SUV for me. The officer looked at me in a very concerned way and said if I cannot make it to the dealership call the SPPD and we will send out a tow truck. I have never forgotten the experience. When the officer gave me a warning, it had more of a profound impact than giving me a ticket. My friends say that Sandy Springs has too many cops around. I disagree. I have never felt more safe and secure.

So I left Northside Hospital beginning of Sept 2018 and I got a stop sign on Spalding (yep that was me) and I called 911 because even though I was “loopy” my car was damaged and I just couldn’t drive anymore (even though I shouldn’t have been driving in the first place)

Anyway Officer T pulled up and asked me sobriety questions , I answered correctly and showed him my Hospital papers. He gave me a citation, and towed my car ! And a neighbor went out of their way to get m home safely (which I appreciate )!

So two days pass...and Officer T calls me back and checks on me. I call that going above and beyond ! I think Sandy Springs Police Department is great or at least my experience with the Officer is.

The Dunwoodt Officer who arrived on the scene first seemed careless but as for the Sandy Springs(Awesome and empathetic )

Now I’m scared for court. I haven’t ever received any ticket or citation or violation and I’m scared. I just know to bring my Hospital paper.

I am 90 years old, and my husband is 88. Leaving an appointment with the doctor, I fell, and bruised my elbow very badly--not broken, but, painful. We were supposed to have been picked up for the trip home, by Calibre, but, through no fault of theirs, our signals about where the pick-up was supposed to take place, were mixed. George and I stood on the cold and windy corner, and we soon realized that we had to do something to get out of the cold. I was unable to walk back into the building. Desperate, I called 911. Soon, an angel appeared in the guise of a Sandy Springs policeman. I asked him to just take us home, but he insisted upon calling an ambulance to have someone check out my arm. I wish I had noted his name, because he stood firm, and said we had to wait for the ambulance. We did, and soon it arrived, and the tech. checked out my elbow and said it was not broken. Shortly after, the car from Calibre came along, and he and this fine policeman fussed over me as if I were a new-born chick! Please tell the young policeman how much I appreciate his refusal to take us home, but to wait until everyone was satisfied that I was OK to go home. This exemplary young man is the picture of what a policeman should be. His concern for us was so touching, and I am so sorry that I did not get his name. Thank him once again, for me, for digging in those heels, and, our of his concern, made us wait! Kudos to The Sandy Springs Police--and you may use my remarks in any way you feel is appropriate. Last night about 1:00 AM our alarm went off and in just a few minutes Officer Smith was there checking outside and inside in a very professional, careful and polite manner. I was very impressed with him and his demeanor; I hope all your officers are as good as he is.

Best police department in the whole state. I see a whole host of bad. Reviews. To those reviewers Stop breaking the law and you will see how much of a positive impact they make on the city. If you still don’t agree then move back to Atlanta with apd as your lifeline 😂😂😂

The employees in this department are very lovely people. They were extremely helpful, nice and quick. I went in there and was out in less than 15 minutes. I will definitely return to them should the need arise.
