CrossKeys Vineyards

We were invited on December 16th to a JMU graduation dinner for our niece and it was at the CrossKeys Vineyard. It is located in a beautiful valley setting surrounded by mountains. The food was delicious and nicely presented. The French Onion Soup was unique, with a number of vegetables besides the onions, but did not have melted cheese on top. The umami (savory) flavor was excellent. I had the gnocchi main dish (which was a special, not normally on the menu, I believe) and a hot, mulled cider to drink. Both were likewise excellent. My wife tried the European Fondue and the Chicken Caesar Salad. Service was quite good and I would gladly return, though I rarely have reason to be in that area. The only downside is that the open room with a large number of people can get a bit loud, but that was a small detraction. Well worth the visit.

If you want to feel like you are in Tuscany without leaving the states, be sure to visit CrossKeys Vineyards. It is absolutely beautiful and you'll feel like you've visited Italy. The food was delicious and the wine was supreme. It's the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a girl's trip, and perfect for a wedding.

Beautiful venue. From entering the gate and the short drive to the main building, you can see why so many people love it. The rolling hills with vines sprouting across and the amazing backdrop of the mountains. Service was great. We had a group of 6. The wine was very tasty, so much we all got glasses and took some bottles home. There is a restaurant, which seemed to be pretty busy, we got a little charcuterie board, which was amazing. We all loved the jams and mustard. If it represents the kitchen, the restaurant should be amazing. Lots of outdoor seating and covered heated add on rooms. Looks like an amazing venue for a wedding. All around good food, service and wine.

From the breathtaking venue of vines and rolling mountains, to the delicious food, to the exceptional staff- CrossKeys was the absolute perfect choice for our wedding day! Shelby, the events coordinator, made sure every detail was handled from beginning to end and truly exceeded any expectations I had. She easily went above and beyond her "day-of" coordination services and made the wedding planning process much easier. Her team was incredible and I was very relaxed the morning of the wedding, knowing she and her team would handle everything. I truly can't explain how lucky I am to have found this hidden gem of a wedding venue, with outstanding staff to match! I'd recommend CrossKeys Vineyard time and time again and will definitely be back to enjoy wine on their patio!

As soon as I saw CrossKeys I knew I had to have my wedding ceremony and reception there. The sprawling mountains, vineyards, and manicured hills were the perfect spot for my vision of my fairytale wedding. Shelby was a pleasure to work with and will seriously ensure EVERYTHING goes as planned. She really gave me peace of mind during the planning process and day of the wedding. The food at our wedding was KILLER, the steak was flavorful and tender and everyone raved about the salmon. The passed appetizers were also absolutely delicious. The wine served at the wedding was also fantastic. I could not be more thankful for CrossKeys and Shelby and her team for making my dream wedding a reality!

Choosing CrossKeys was the single best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process (besides saying yes to an engagement :D). Everything was absolutely perfect. The views are stunning and the facilities are GORGEOUS at every turn, even down to the beautiful bride and grooms suites (that we could actually use on the morning start of hair and makeup - not something everywhere offers!). Working with Shelby was the best experience we could have hoped for. She went above and beyond making sure the day went smoothly and was able to make all of our unique asks happen, like a specialty cocktail wall and tweaking the menu to include chimichurri steak. So many guests came up to me during the night and even weeks later saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and marveling that there was never a long line at the bar - even at the very start of cocktail hour. During wedding planning everyone told me something would go wrong on my wedding day and I'd have to roll with it, and I'm not exaggerating when I say not one thing went wrong and it was in large part due to the incredible preparedness and service at CrossKeys. Amazing experience. The atmosphere was great, live music, tasty food, fantastic wine, and a breath taking view. The only issue was the service, as the waitress only came twice and was no where to be seen. They could possibly be short staffed, but the tip automatically gets added on (25%) on groups of 6 or more. Maybe that is why the waitress did not go above and beyond, or even just check up more frequently. The family had a great time though so definitely worth the 5 star review still.

I love this winery! The staff is very personable. They have a great variety and ample seating. The last time I was here, it was cold, but they have plenty of outdoor heaters. This time, it was super hot, but they have plenty of shade and indoor seating.

This place is meticulously maintained. The food in the Bistro was very tasty, mostly different kinds of Panini. I was with three other people and we ordered flights of wine with our lunch, and ended up buying a couple of bottles. The view from inside the Bistro is just the nicely decorated hall that looks like it could be used for a reception or large party. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon and there were not many people there. I would expect it to be much busier on weekends. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

I'm a Key Club Member and I love it!! They do an Awesome Job on the pick-up parties and events. Both wine and food are Delicious!! The Atmosphere is Great!! Just wish they would bring back the Bloody Mary's for my Hubby.

We got here early just in case due to the weather. We did find a groupon for the wine/cheese and tour which was a nice inventive, but did find out we had to pay the a tax percentage which was not much. We were greeted immediately and were informed on our options since our tour was not til 4pm. So we bought a sample of their fruity wine and dined at the bistro while waiting. The meal was cooked to perfection with the exception of my husband's meal, the duck was not as hot as the risotto. It was nice to try something different and new to my palette. I ordered the Shelby- turkey sandwich with brie, spinach, apple and a cranberry spread.
After we were finished we went back to the tasting room and started our first part of the tasting. So we started out with our cheese platter and shopped while waiting. Bought a cute top and ornament. The platter was really good I don't think we took photos. The almonds were roasted well. Once we were done, we started our private little tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She did let us take photos and took her time with us. The tour was pretty quick. But we did enjoy seeing how the wine is made.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday and it did not disappoint. Great food and reasonable prices too. The breakfast flat bread was amazing. I ordered a panini and my girlfriend ordered a salad. We also ordered a bottle of wine. The waitresses were great and there was enough shade at the table that it wasn't too hot.

We also did the tasting room after and purchased a few bottles to take home. I would definitely come back when I was in the area.

Perfect place to come to on a Sunday funday! Brunch is excellent here with their special winemosas (highly recommended!) and live music. Our waitress was really upbeat and nice. The front patio is incredibly spacious and has amazing scenery of the Shenandoah Mountain range. It's about a 2 hour drive from the DC area but it is so worth it.

This vineyard is dog friendly but you can only have them on the patio-- no inside pups allowed unless they're a service dog.

We ordered Rubens, French toast, and crab stuffed potato Chesapeake, all of which were very tasty and very filling.

During our time here we also did a brief wedding tour of the location. Our guide, Ariel, was super friendly and accommodating since we didn't book an appointment prior to. She did a fantastic job at giving us a condensed but no less informative tour of their wedding services and venues.

We were a large group and were taken care of as family! Mily, was great! Congratulations to her brother’s graduation. Best of everything to her and her family! Friendly environment, Great wines, scenic views great Food, perfect Ambience And live music ….every reason to return.

Decided to attend the CrossKeys Experience for my wife's 40th birthday. CJ gave us an amazing tour of the winery. We had a great time. She was very knowledgeable and informative. I would definitely recommend going.

The Bistro was excellent and the sandwiches were very good (especially the fries). The tasting room was super busy though, and on a Tuesday with only 2 staff at the bar they over overloaded really quickly. They have a tons of information on the wines which was interesting and the flights were very good. The property is incredible, and if it’s nice out highly recommend being outside!

My daughter's wedding and reception were held at Crosskeys. This is a first class establishment, and we had a great experience. The venue was perfectly sized, the mountain and vineyard views are spectacular, and best of all, the completely gluten free buffet was superb! GF was a requirement for us, and Crosskeys delivered. Shelby coordinated the day for us and everything worked well.

My mom and I worked with Cross Keys to host a bridal shower March 2023 for my sister. We can not say enough great things about working with this venue. Every detail of the shower was perfectly coordinated by Ranae. In addition to being a beautiful vineyard the food was delicious, we had wonderfully accommodating staff, and all the amenities provided by the venue were very well maintained. Ranae and all the staff we worked with for the shower were amazing, thank you for creating a lasting memory for our bride to be.
