Nothin' Fancy Cafe

My wife and I stop in there from time to time to get breakfast. Great staff, the food is always great. The owner always takes the time to greet you with a smile and a good morning.. And she is such a hard worker. And their lunch specials are great too!

What a great breakfast and old fashioned diner atmosphere!! Country friend steak and eggs...top, prime rib omelet with mushrooms and cheese...bottom. both cooked perfectly! We will return!!

We stopped in on a Sunday morning and with it being Mother’s Day We were expecting it to be very busy, which it was. We were greeted by almost every staff member and they were the kindest happiest people.
We were seated immediately and brought coffee and water ! The menu is quite large and has a great variety. Definitely diner breakfast food (exactly what we were looking for) I had an omelet with spinach ,mushrooms and bacon..and it was HUGE! The food came out within 5 min of ordering it , no exaggeration!
Fun little bonus— Today there was a man making balloon animals for the kids and upon Checking out, they gave a lovely flower to me for Mother’s Day !

Truly one of the greatest Cafes I have ever ate all. Such good prices. Nothing expensive. Very much worth it. Wonderful staff and environment. Plenty of food will be on your plate so don’t worry about the servings. Would recommend to those who live in the area and just visit through. The quality is there. Have gone multiple times, will be back with family and friends.

Best live bands. Dave puts a lot of work into sound and lighting. Nice spacious atmosphere.

Prices are reasonable. Good service. Nice local place to go to get lunch or breakfast.

A great little local diner! Way better than any chain restaurant. Clean and very friendly staff. Belgian waffle was great, eggs were cooked just right and home fried potatoes were just the way a diner should cook them. Same for sausage links and crispy bacon and the coffee is very good. Would highly recommend for anyone passing through Vernon, NY to check it out.

Kept the coffee hot, portions were very large. We are not from the area but we enjoyed our meal alot. Will be back again if in town!

The owners are extremely friendly as well as their entire staff. The prices for food and drink are a little lower than most other places in the area. When they have entertainment, the sound is incredible wherever you sit. The place is always clean and inviting. Plenty of parking.
Catering is available as well as the venue (the country/rock saloon) for large parties!

Quaint little place. The waitress was great very friendly and attentive. Had breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs and hash browns all very good.

The food and the staff are absolutely amazing!! A must stop if your staying at Turning Stone on in the Verna area.

Okay, I have to start by saying this was my 1st time eating from here. It was recommended by a coworker as best fish fry in the area. We had take out because of time issues. Which is not how I wanted to try this place. Take out is normally not as good as eat in.
Anyway the fish was amazing tasting and it was cooked perfectly. I had the zesty and my wife had traditional. Both were very good. The salads that came with were fresh and great tasting. Fries were a little soggy as can be expected with take out containers holding moisture in. A few minutes in the air fryer and they were good. Coleslaw was good too, but I was so full from the fish and some of the fries, I didn't have much of it.
I want to definitely try this place again and eat in. The staff, for the short time I was there were very friendly. And unlike what someone recently posted, locals do eat there...in droves. I picked up my food at 4:45 pm and it was packed. Locals know where to eat, and this must be the place. Try it.

It's open and spacious. The dance floor is nice and big and they have seating available there and in a balcony area. The bar is also spacious and the staff there is fantastic. The food is really really good as well. Pleasant place to be.

Saw the Brothers Grim Band! They were awesome!

First I've been there in years. Love it just as much tonight as did years ago. Need to do something with the dance floor though so it's slippery. Really enjoyed the band Nothern Outlaws. First time hearing them. Definitely will try to go where they are again.
