Lake House Restaurant

I stayed here for one night prior to heading to Cooperstown All Star Village to umpire for a week. It's such a nice, quaint place. I arrived pretty late (after 11pm) due to driving from Chicago. Pat and Sabina were so nice in communicating with me and accommodating my late arrival. I only wish I had more time to enjoy a meal here.

We stopped at the Lake House for dinner after many years of not going. We were greeted by Sabina and seated at a lovely table with a view of the lake.The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. Service was exceptional. We will be back.

Very friendly staff. Great food and even greater views. They also had a piano that i could play. It is in a great location to easily get to cooperstown. I would highly recommend staying here if you get a chance to.

We enjoyed the rooms and restaurant here! Their new chef made wonderful chicken alfredo and chicken parm! The old fashioned was stout and tasteful- we do love to have them smoked but they were still great! I would have uploaded a picture of the fried cheese curds but we ate the entire basket before they even hit the table! Service was very friendly and attentive! They were in the middle of setting up a stage for concerts. The new dining room had breathtaking views of the lake!! After dinner we caught TWELVE fish (several different type) of fish right off the new pier they just built! We really love the quiet seclusion of this quaint lodge!

*the wall bookshelf on the 2nd floor has a wonderful library of educational books which are my favorite!

This venue has a bygone era feel that is both comfortable and enchanting. Anyone who remembers this restaurant from the 70s will love seeing the improvements as well as what remains the same...

In town for a baseball tournament at the Cooperstown Dreams Park, I rented a quaint house in Richfield Springs, NY, on beautiful Canadarago Lake. On our last night, I stumbled across The Lake House Restaurant online and, on a whim, drove the 1.7 miles to the other side of the lake and had dinner.

My 12 year old son and I had a memorable dinner - one we'll never forget - on the back porch, overlooking the lake and a gorgeous sunset. The food was, if anything, underpriced. I had the ribeye, medium, cooked to perfection. My son had the fish fry (fish and chips). Both dishes were excellent. My Caesar salad was very good, too.

The service was outstanding! Sabina, the owners' daughter-in-law, waited on us. She took the time to talk with us at length about the history of the restaurant and lodge, their plans for the future, Canadarago Lake, and Richfield Springs. Honestly, she treated us like old friends, for which we were grateful.

If you live in the area or, especially, if you're visiting and staying in Cooperstown or the nearby area, take the time and drive out to Richfield Springs for dinner at The Lake House. I promise you will be glad you did.

An awesome location on the lake with beautiful views. Great music and food, along with multiple chimineas to sit around.

Went here for dinner tonight and the food was incredible along with the service! I got the baked haddock with fries my boyfriend got the chicken parm, the food was so flavorful. My boyfriend got a mixed drink and said it was perfect. The place was very clean. Staff is very kind and even made a cat friend, Teddy. Highly recommend!! I couldn't give a rating for rooms as we didn't stay but the place is beautiful I can only assume the rooms are too!

Food was absolutely amazing!!!! The service was top notch. A+++++++++

If you're looking for a stay at something like the Hilton, don't come here.

If you want to come to grandma's house, feel comfortable & absolutely at home, this is the place for you. We checked in late & were greeted by a lovely note with directions to our room. You can tell all the rooms are newly renovated with a country feel, and the craftsmanship is spot on. We were told breakfast would be served from 7:30-9 am the next morning & we fully expected to be ordering in their restaurant downstairs. To our great surprise is was a complimentary mini buffet.

The best part of this place & why we picked it, its dog friendly. My puppy & I had a great time exploring the grounds first thing the next morning.

Best restaurant in Richfield Springs! Let me start by saying that this is some of the most delicious food I have had in a very long time. 10 out of 10. The salmon especially was cooked to perfection. The flavors were on point for each dish. The atmosphere of dining and looking over the sparkling water of the lake was nothing less than enchanting. I felt so at home in the cozy interior of this beautiful building with its rich history and interesting decorations. A beautifully lit up bandstand and dancing floor sits right along the water making it a great place to experience live music. Later on, as it became darker, a bonfire was lit and gathered around. What a perfect evening!

The staff was friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The salmon was the best I've ever had! My husband had the NY Strip steak, which was also delicious.

If you want a real lake house feeling, this is the place for you. Great views, friendly staff and the food was delicious. I had the scallops with the sauteed spinach, steak crostini and wings everything was fresh and so tasty. Also the owner was nice enough to let my son take one of the kittens home, we'll have a souvenir to remind us of our beautiful experiences at The Lake house. Her name is Lake!

Good food new chef really good price points

I has not been to the Lake house Restaurant since Chef Mike left. The food was always spectacular under Chef Mike soon was leery about my first visit. But my fears were unfounded as the food was just as good as when Chef Mike was there - SO great food, reasonably priced. What more can you want? Well, there was more. There a terrific fire pit outside and the night we went for dinner, there was a live band and fireworks. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic food. Everything was fresh, got to meet the chef after our meal was served. He was a very concerned and studious man. It's a great experience all around. I recommend it to all, wether by road or boat.

This is the best local eatery that you weren't able to find. If you can manage to navigate the back roads to get here and it isn't packed with summer tourist crowds (which it usually isn't. . .oddly) then you've found the best place to eat in central New York. Some of the best fish dishes available in these parts.

Food was delicious, service was excellent, and the atmosphere outside is perfect.
Everyone we spoke to was very welcoming and helpful with choosing food.
Recommend the blueberry dessert.
