Bread & Chocolate

We got ham and cheese croissant, chocolate croissant, chocolate cream cheese cupcake, and cheese danish. They were all so good and tasty🤤🤤 Cheese danish is my personal favorite, the texture and the flavor were spot on! Definitely ate too much but can’t wait to be back!

Absolutely amazing chocolate cream cheese cupcake! I'll be back for that for sure. We also got the cinnamon maple roll and a chocolate roll which are good but pale in comparison to the cupcake. We can't wait to come back to try more!

A glimpse of Heaven. I love this French bakery & cafe frequently visiting it on our trips to NH. The breads, pastries, tarts, cookies, muffins, & croissants are scrumptious. One is fed physically, spiritually, & mentally as the humble owner/baker offers free Holy Bibles, books, & devotionals to feed your soul with God’s love. God bless him & this wonderful sanctuary. Looking forward to our next visit.

I’m amazed by the offerings. I didn’t know what a good croissant was until I ate here. They’re supposed to be flaky, delicious, light and buttery, not deflated and sad. Amazing! Franz is a hero!

Best place in town for baked goods for certain. The chocolate raspberry cake is delicious.

If you ever find yourself in town then stop by for a sticky bun. It’s sweet, warm, and has layers of stickiness to it... absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and small, the location is at the heart of concord. It’s worth the trip!

Bread & Chocolate is my all time FAVORITE bakery. I've lived in NH, VA, FL, and MD and have yet been able to find a bakery as delicious as this one. Franz does incredible work!

The sticky buns are so good, came back here multiple times during our trip here.

Fabulous aroma when you walk in. Excellent selection, quality, flavor, freshness. My turkey-pesto-cheese croissant was one of the best pastries I have had. My husband selected a sticky bun and loved it. Far superior to other bakery/coffeeshop in town.

The premier bakery in New Hampshire - and all of New England as far as I know. Get in early before the good stuff sells out!

To talk about how good B&C is, I will tell a short story. My brother-in-law is a baker from France. He is in the habit of making fresh croissants every morning for his family. He visited us and we took him to Bread and Chocolate. We bought him a croissant and kept going with our day. After tasting it, he went back in to buy one of everything so that he could try it. The next day, instead of making croissants like he normally does, my brother drove to town and bought a basket of croissants from B&C. He repeated this for the whole trip, buying a different type each day.

We get raspberry croissants for every special occasion and we get the sticky buns for everything. They are that good!

You should also try Franz's excellent lunch sandwiches. These are an underappreciated aspect of the shop.

Such a cute place! The atmosphere is old-timey and unique. I bought a croissant and corn muffin. Great!

Old world goodness. Everything is good from bread to pastry, cakes and their own special creations. Quality ingredients, excellent service, and a great vibe set Bread and Chocolate apart. This is not a fast food stop, take your time and enjoy.

Possibly some of the best home made dessert I have ever had. The owner is from Europe, therefore my understanding is they focus on flavor without being overly sweet yet delicious! The bread and other items are also very good. The pricing is extremely fair for their quality and consistency.

No frills bakery offering lots of European breads, cakes, tarts, cookies, croissants and sandwiches. I visit everytime I'm in Concord!

I have been a devoted customer since I first moved to the area over 10 years ago. I was amazed at the authenticity of Franz's baking and food combinations. He is a master of all his work. Favorites I've enjoyed are: the Chocolate Truffle Cake, Opera Cake, Cream Puffs, Lemon Cream Cake, and the Fruit Tarts are the BEST in the state. You must must go there. He is a wonderful man who loves to share his love of others and food! Enjoy!

Amazing bakery...authentic excellent recipes with delicious results. Whether a loaf of bread...bread and chocolate..a blueberry cake omg... pastries, cakes..and wonderful sandwiches for a quick and delicious lunch. Just can not get any better! A must for us when we are nearby and sometimes even just make the trek because it is so yummy. Thank you!
