Old Harbor Inn

We stayed in Caboose 1 over the weekend. It was an unforgettable experience. The location was perfect and everything was within walking distance. We arrived into town early and we were able to check-in early without any problems. My husband left his glasses behind and the staff called within hours of us checking out and sent him his glasses within a day. I would stay here again on our next trip!

Loved my stay here. Got to experience 3 different rooms on the Harbor. All with balconies. Clean, pleasant decor and wonderful views even from my bed. Thanks to Tracy, Dawn, Jerry and Jake!! 💞 You All made our stay very Special!! So kind, and so Helpful! I didn't want to leave.

The Old Harbor Inn is perfectly located in South Haven. We booked one of the harbor view rooms, and it had a tiny balcony that looked over the water. The staff was friendly, and attentive. The rooms are large, and each one has a theme. Is this a five-star hotel? As for service and location, yes. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and our room was stocked with dishes and cutlery. We'll be back!

The perfect getaway. My husband and I came here in 2023 and really enjoyed our stay. When we needed a place for a short trip to escape the city this year - we didn't hesitate to book a couple of night at Old Harbor Inn again. Location is great, everything is walkable, and the town is just really enjoyable. The rooms are clean and nicely setup - highly recommend the harbor view rooms. Last but certainly not least, the staff is always so pleasant and friendly and makes you feel very welcomed.

Our room at the Inn was very nice. Clean and newly remodeled. Our view wasn’t ideal we did not have a balcony and were behind the restaurant ship beside the Inn which kind of blocks the beautiful view of the harbor. But the large room and more than adequate closet was great. The keepers of the Inn were polite, friendly and efficient at check in and check out. The location is just a short walk to all of the downtown shops, restaurants, lighthouse and beach. All in all it is a wonderful choice of accommodations. We will definitely enjoys this beautiful, relaxing place again.

We ended up at Old Harbor Inn as our only option due to our situation riding jetskis across Lake Michigan from the other side of the lake from the IL/WI border. My buddy’s wife called the front desk and explained our situation and we were immediately taken care of getting the last room available. They were super helpful and understanding that we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Old Harbor Inn for the whole hospitality that you guys provided to us.

My husband and I stayed for three days a few weeks ago, simply amazing and wonderful service! Room was clean and comfy, great location for everything. Shout out to Miss Tracey for making our stay perfect, she represents the property with great pride!

We are currently staying at the Old Harbor Inn. Today one floor of the inn experienced a complete failure of the water heater for an entire floor of the inn. We happened to be on that floor and had no hot water. Before we even called the front desk, the front desk called us to explain the problem and informed us the repair would not be completed during our entire stay. She went on to say she knew we needed easy access due to walking challenges and had located an available room that was in a different building but handicapped accessible. I am so pleased at the attention to detail and courtesy the desk clerk had for us and the other guests who were inconvenienced. To us this turned out to be a very memorable moment with a great outcome. Thank you Old Harbor Inn and your caring desk clerk.

We stayed here during the week for a little beach getaway. The location was perfect! We stayed in room 29 and it was very clean and cozy. It had a balcony looking over the harbor that was beautiful. We will be back!

We love this Inn location and are repeat visitors. It is so convenient and we love watching the boats go by. Our room was updated and had everything we needed. You can't beat the charm of this place!

Had an incredible time with friends and our daughters. Beautiful place and excellent service. Just a few walkable minutes from everything including the beach. We will absolutely be back again.

Lovely room, great view! Clean, everyone was hospitable. Right in town, you can walk everywhere, including the beach. Next door and around the corner are cute shops, and good restaurants. Everything to do without having to go far. Coffee closeby, great restaurants and bars, even a theater! We will definitely return!

Beautiful rooms, amazing location, everything you need right there at the hotel. There's a little alley that has stores and restaurants, Brewery and sometimes there's some live music playing down on the boardwalk. On the back side of this property is the idler, and another restaurant that sits on the river. The Idler has an open-air restaurant and you are sitting on the river. You can see the drawbridge area from the back side of this property. So many things to do and there's a nice little Biggby Coffee that is a walk up. Dawn is amazing 😉

I got a hotel room with a hot tub for my girlfriend and I, and the room was beautiful! The room was CLEAN and looked like brand new! The hot tub was so relaxing along with the beds. The couches were comfortable too! Only thing I wish is they provided a little dining table to eat at in the room, so I either had to eat on the bed or on the couch utilizing a little end table. Nonetheless, the room was freaking AMAZING and I managed with it! Not complaining about it, just a little thing I wished they had! The employees at Old Harbor Inn were so kind to us. When I checked in, Jake basically said we had the hotel to ourselves because around this time of year not many people go on vacation. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Also, I have never felt so darn SAFE walking at night. The hotel, as a whole, looked gorgeous! The hotel has after hours so they close around 6pm-9pm, depending on the season, so they lock their front doors. Luckily, as long as you have your room key you can get back in the building. They have a keyhole to the right of automatic doors that you turn your room key with and then the doors open automatically and lock behind you. No need to do anything extra! Overall, South Haven is a beautiful city with lots of places to eat at, visit, and have fun at. You have the lighthouse pier, all the shops right below Old Harbor, an old fashion theatre, restaurants, and other fun shops about 5 minutes from Old Harbor. I will say, the shops down below are closed because they are only seasonal. In the summer time that’s when they open! My gosh…. I dream all the time of living there. Please go to this city, it is to die for, I promise. Thanks again, Old Harbor Inn. I’m going to come back rather sooner than later because I have so much love for this city. ❤

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this hotel due to a death in the family, but we will in the future! They refunded our trip without hesitation, after we already missed our first night. That is a level of service and kindness not found much anymore. Thank you!

A wonderful place to stay. Close to downtown, rooms were extremely clean and the staff was friendly. Dawn was especially helpful.

Love this place! Near all the shops and downtown area, bike trail and bar restaurants. Within walking distance to everything. The room was beautiful and very clean. Highly recommend. Great customer service from receptionist when we checked in. Even a late checkout! Highly recommended! 5+stars

The Old Harbor Inn is one of the best places that I have ever stayed at (keep in mind, I travel quite frequently). From the cute, modern rooms to the friendly, helpful front desk attendant, Dawn, it really is a gem of a place. We stayed in room number 44 and I loved everything about it! The room was super clean, updated, and beautifully decorated. I also love how you can watch the boats from your window; you really can’t beat the location! The rooms are all different from one another, which I also a unique feature. We can’t wait to come back and book another room to see how it is designed!

Been coming here for years and this place should not be rated as a two-star hotel. Four minimum. You pick the room you want with what accommodations and beautiful views of the harbor and lake are available with fireplaces and jacuzzis! Also, front desk staff are excellent and I had the pleasure of dealing with Jeremiah!
