Advantage Marine Repair

We were having engine issues for over 2 years that couldn't be identified or fixed at other places. We felt dismissed and charged for things that never seemed to fix the problem. Then we had a friend recommend Advantage Marine. Our friend was impressed with them and thought they might be able to help us. Once we called and explained our issue they seemed to know what was going on without even seeing the boat. The problem was a known recall issue; paint chips interfering with the fuel injectors and clogging the fuel pump. Thanks to their prompt response and concern we were able to make a claim and had all parts covered by Mercury. This saved us thousands of dollars. We had the boat back in about a week and runs like new. We are very happy with the service they provided. All the staff have been very knowledgeable and friendly and we have moved our boat over to be stored and serviced by them from now on out.

I moved to Holland in 2017 and love boating. I bought a boat for bigger water and it had a lot of problems. From the word go, Advantage was a great partner in helping sort that boat. Subsequently, I bought another boat and they are the only place I take my boats. Eric, Rick, and the team are top notch, care, and do great work. They are a partner in boating and was thrilled when they moved closer a couple years ago! I could not recommend them more.

Been using Advantage Marine for over 10 years. The best thing about this place isn't they're fantastic customer service, their quick work, or even their fair pricing. It's the willingness to go above and beyond, and the quality of people who own and operate the business. Including so many of their employees. Even tho they are incredibly busy, Advantage Marine does everything they can to make their customers happy, and get the job done.

I've used Advantage Marine for over a year and two separate boats and highly recommend them. Their pricing is fair, work is high-quality, and communication good. They get very busy in the spring/summer so I recommend calling early and being patient while your boat is with them. I like their work so much I pull my boat out of the marina in Grand Haven and trailer it to Zeeland just so they can work on it. Highly recommend, especially if you have a go-fast boat.

The team at Advantage Marine, here in Holland, MI on Douglas Ave., are some of the friendliest and very knowledgeable boat people around this area. There are a lot of great boat repair and maintenance folks here in Holland, but I've been with Advantage Marine for the past five years and will likely be one of their customers for years to come!

2 years down after installation of two new engines from Advantage Marine. Had a few hiccups but Dave and his team went above and beyond to make sure everything ended perfect.

This was honestly the best experience I’ve ever had with any type of repair (car, boat, house, etc). They did excellent work at a fair price. They communicated often and clearly and were even able to work with mercury to get warranties transferred into my name. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Tuesday I dropped the boat in the water and had (what I thought) was an issue. I was a little concerned but called Advantage and Daryl was able to come out and address and explain the concern. Just great service !

First class people - I stoped in on a busy Monday in May over my lunch break and talked to Rick about ordering a carb it for my 15hp Merc. The kit was over $150 and I was ok with the cost but after talking with Rick he order me just the parts I needed and saved me over $100. The parts came in on Wednesday and the motor was running that night!

My family trusts Advantage for all of our marine repairs. They do good, honest work. Highly skilled mechanics that can work on a huge variety of boats.

These guys are the best. I boat in Chicago, after being fed up with mechanics on this side of the lake, I took my boat to Advantage Marine. I had to have major work done on my engines as they had just been replaced a couple years ago and weren't running right. Dave and Daryl called me with updates regularly and got the work done when they said they would. They went above and beyond my expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone going forward!

Scheduled our boat with a laundry list of problems, I pre authorized an amount I was comfortable with. They called sooner than expected when the job was done and was even cheaper than what I authorized. They are good folks there!

Advantage Marine is an excellent repair shop. Their staff is friendly, knowledgable, and very talented. Last year, I purchased a boat from a gentleman who said he had redone the heads. Long story short, he was far from telling me the truth. I knew I had a miss throughout the season and was going to address it come fall. I took my boat to Advantage Marine to be winterized and tuned up - hoping that's all it needed. Fortunately, the technician at Advantage Marine was able to find what could have been a catastrophic failure. In addition, the transom was found to be partially dry rotted. Within a week, not only was my transom completely solid, it looked brand new.

Despite learning a valuable lesson in purchasing a boat, Advantage Marine was able to prevent major failures from both a mechanical and structural standpoint. I work in the service industry - and I can say their technicians are top-notch.

Regardless what you are in the market for, I would highly recommend Advantage Marine from a pre-boat survey to a redoing the transom. Not only did they protect my family and I, they were able to make sure I will be able to enjoy the already short boating season this year.

Friendly service, Experts at boat issues. I had a new boat and had steering problems. the place where I bought the boat could not find the problem . I tried for 2 years...I then took my boat to advantage. same problem. I received a call that same day saying they found the problem. nelsons speed shop had two years. advantage had a fix in hours. thanks guys.

Advantage did my winter drive service (oil, water pump, bearing inspect, R&R drives), replaced a couple of trim sender units, re-calibrated the trim gauges, and pressure tested both drives. They left the boat as spotlessly clean as it they found it, right on the estimate too. Well done, boat runs great.

All other marinas were too busy... Called Rick and he made an amazing effort to get us back on the water just before guests arrived. Darryl, the mechanic, was so professional and knowledgeable. Stayed around extra to clean the boat before leaving. It takes alot to impress me, but being new to Holland this will be my boat company from here on!
