We had a great time here. Our room was upgraded and the new room was a beautiful suite. Thanks so much! Staff is great. Ate dinner at the Pink Pony and had really good time. Food was great. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We stay somewhere new every time we visit the island and this might be the best place we have stayed! Check in and out was super quick and easy, the location of the hotel and our room was amazing to pop in and out throughout the day and the rooms were very clean, spacious and updated! There's a great view no matter what side you choose. You can tell they pay a lot of attention to detail. The hot tub is a huge plus! Shout-out to Bart for being very friendly and accommodating!

This is the second year my wife and I have stayed at the Chippewa and we have declared it to be our favorite hotel anywhere. We will not stay anywhere else on the Island. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The views were incredible, and the service was excellent. The best part of all, however, was the hot tub outside our room. I literally did not want to leave it until the moment of check-out. Would definitely recommend it to others.

My husband and I brought our 80 year old moms to stay. We got a two bedroom suite that was beautiful, clean and comfortable. When we realized how tall the beds were we asked housekeeping if they had stools to help them. They came back a few minutes later with two. They were so kind and every time we saw any of the staff they smiled and greeted us.
To our surprise in the evening there was a knock on our door and a smiling employee asked if anyone wanted complimentary cookies and milk and mints, it was a pleasant surprise.
Getting our luggage to and from the boat was made easy with the porters.
Thank you Chippewa for an excellent experience and I will definitely plan another stay.

We had the BEST time at the Chippewa! The updated room with the gorgeous bathroom was perfect. We had a harbor view that was stunning. The hotel staff were so helpful, especially the manager, Bart. We had a delicious meal at the Pink Pony and lively nightlife. Can’t wait to book another trip!

We just got home from our 3rd trip to Mackinac Island and this was our 3rd time staying at Chippewa Hotel! We absolutely love this quaint hotel. From the very friendly staff (this goes out to you, Bart!) to the very clean rooms. Everyone is so sweet and willing to answer questions and help. We stayed in a top floor, harbor view suite, and the beds were comfortable. The view was beautiful!!!

Thank you for the wonderful vacation. We’ll see you next year!!!

Staff were all super nice and polite. Very conscientious about taking care of the guests. Really enjoyed the Pink Pony. The food was great and the location is within easy walking distance of the ferry dock and lots of things to do.

Love love love this place!!
We have been staying there for the past few years . Staff , customer service and Hotel is perfect no complaints at all. Famous Pink pony restaurant which is onsight has delicious food.plus you can't beat the location close to everything. We stay in the street side rooms and love to wake up to the horses walking on main street. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, even lake side rooms are great with balconies. I give this hotel 10 stars if I could.

We've been to the island many times over the past 5 years and stay here each time. We love it here! I have no desire to stay anywhere else. I always try to stay on the lake side, but that's not always possible. The street side rooms are smaller, but still very nice. The hot tub is amazing!!!
The location is beautiful and very close to the Star Ferry dock.
I have read some of the other reviews about poor customer service, and I have never experienced that. The staff is amazing and very accommodating, from the front desk to the wait staff at the Pink Pony. We received our milk and cookies on the evenings we were in our room. If not in our room we received turn down service.
I highly recommend the Chippewa Hotel! And plan to go back again and again!

First time saying on the island and we picked the perfect place to say. My wife and I stayed on the 1st floor, overlooked the boat marina, hot tub and deck for eating at the pink pony. By the way is a great place to eat. My wife just loved the room, couldn't get over how nice it was with a view, and we live on a lake. As with most things on the island you are going to pay.. But well worth it. Bucket list, check. Jim and Melody

We had the top floor queen. It actually has 2 rooms, which was perfect for us, because I would stay up late and get up early to take pictures. The coffee machine was great for me to make a cup while sitting on the deck overlooking the bay. Easy check in, our bags were brought to the hotel and stored for us so we could go adventure the island.

We stay at the Chippewa at least twice a year and it just gets better every time. Bart, Matthew, Ntombi and all the front desk staff are always wonderful. Archie and Louis make sure all our bags get from and to the ferry, always with a smile! We love the top floor harbor view suite, love sitting on our balcony watching the sunrise and watching the freighters go by. The Chip is an easy walk to all of downtown an d with the Pink Pony right downstairs, there is always a delicious meal (get the surf and turf) and entertainment nearby. Cookies and milk at night and chocolate mints on our pillows! It’s a perfect way to end a fun filled day. We are glad to say that the “staff” at the Chip are now “our friends at the Chip.”

We had a blast staying at the Chip. A great location on the waterfront, amazing staff, the rooms are nice and spacious and have been updated. The pink pony was fun and our adult children loved hanging out at the hot tub drinking rum runners.

Was a very very nice hotel in a great location. Many thanks to Bart for the free upgrade to a waterfront room. And many thanks to the front desk for finding us that great room after realizing that my booking was off by 1 night. Would definitely come back

This was our 4th year at the Chippewa and it was fabulous as always. We stay in a harbor view suite and the balcony is my favorite for watching sunrises in the morning and hearing the first horses go up the road. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The service and staff always professional and kind. The food at the Pink Pony is great too. We will not stay anywhere else now - always the Chippewa.

I highly recommend The Chippewa Hotel. The prices are far more reasonable than the Grand and the accommodations and service are top notch. We had a two bedroom suite with a balcony looking over the harbor, and it was wonderful. A cute living area with comfortable chairs and sofa, a little kitchen with fridge and microwave, one bedroom with two queen beds, and one with one queen bed. All very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was incredible, especially the front desk people who could not do enough for us. And...it's right in the middle of the main street, so shops, restaurants, grocery store and carriage rides are right at your doorstep. What more could you want? You won't be disappointed.

I had an excellent two-night stay at the Chippewa, checking out the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Bart and the entire front-desk staff were friendly, professional and efficient from making the reservation all the way through checking out.

The room was a little small, especially when pulling out the ironing board, but not so small to be an issue for most of my stay. And it's quaint, like walking into yesteryear. I was on the second floor, so during the day the music from the Pink Pony came into the room quite a bit, but the good news is that I was that close to the Pink Pony! I'm sure the same room on a higher floor would not have had that challenge. Everything else? The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The water pressure in the shower was quite good, and there were plenty of coffee pods for the coffee maker. The lobby was comfortable, and not only houses the Pink Pony, but also the classiest store on Main St. (in my opinion), Urvana's.

The location was ideal, even with my conference being held at the Grand, and it is a great starting place for exploring the Island during the downtime. Highly recommended!

Bart and the entire staff made our 50th Anniversary visit to the Chippewa exceptional and memorable. From the moment we checked-in we were treated to outstanding service. In 1974 we spent one night at the Chippewa during our honeymoon and decided to return 50 years later, we were overwhelmed with the attention we received. The view from our 4th floor room, the reserved table for dinner at the Pink Pony and the constant attention to detail we observed allows us to say - with all the choices of accommodations on Mackinac Island you would be missing an wonderful opportunity if you do not choose the Chippewa Hotel.

When I made my reservation, there were only rooms available looking toward the street and not the Lakeside. I asked to be put on the wait list for a lakeside room and lo and behold, they were able to come through for me and even secured a suite. The meals were phenomenal as was the staff. I definitely reserve a room there on my next visit to the island.

What a great place. Everything is so close especially if you take the Mackinac Island Ferry Company over to the Island. The service is second to none, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!! The room was awesome and very clean. Also very quiet at night. Highly recommended to all.
