The Corner Cafe

Early lunch on a Saturday, 11:00 a.m. We were in the area visiting cemeteries and I had done a bit of research prior to our visit, finding a couple of places that looked good, the Corner Cafe was the first place we came to, so it was the one. As the name implies it's a small town cafe/diner. It is a seat yourself place. At the time it was about half full, so we had no trouble finding a table for 4. I had the Greek omelette hash browns and a side of pancakes. There was also a side of tzatziki sauce. I was torn between the omelette and the breakfast shoe, I decided to a bit out of normal and got the omelette. It had gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese. It was very good. There was also a crispy chicken salad with poppyseed dressing and two Reuben sandwiches with fries at the table. I sampled the fries and they were very good. I was told the salad and sandwiches were also very good.

Worth a visit.

Decided to edit my review after seeing some of the negative Nancy's reviews. If u think their food is expensive or mediocre for the price you're out of your mind and or don't go out to eat much. Generic food products? They use one of the same food distributors that every other establishment uses 🤦 Their prices are on par with other similar establishments if not cheaper. To the person that said they waited 45 mins for their food.... I've dined here numerous times & I doubt I've ever had to wait 20 minutes. Were u there on a day they were super busy & or understaffed? This place is a gem for Petersburg. If u really want expensive, bland & mediocre food then take your butt down the street to Hardee's.

Friendly service and great hamburger, chicken strip, & breakfast horseshoes every time.

We stopped by after a morning at New Salem Historical Area. Cafe was not too busy and the food was amazing. Great choice. Much nicer than the chain restaurants we passed on the outside of town. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They refilled my water serval times due to the heat outside.

Alice was fantastic! The food was good and everyone was very kind. We had a large party and never had to wait on anything. Great place ❤

Nice little Cafe in downtown Petersburgh. Enjoyed a nice breakfast meal for lunch with my son. Great food and nice staff.

Had the Mexican omelet, a side of hash, and two fluffy warm pancakes. Others had the biscuit and grave and two eggs or the Denver omelet. Delicious all! Took home a piece of luscious pecan pie for my mom. Early breakfast at 8:00 AM, by 8:30 pretty full and hopping with the excellent wait staff. Highly recommend!

Good food better service. Everyone was awesome. Very friendly and super social. I had and ankle surgery and went in on a knee scooter. They facilitated for me to be able to get in comfortably. I can't stress enough the food is very good but the service is awesome. My only complaint is that they are so far away from my house.

My 5 Star rating is in reference to the food and server. We had the most perfectly prepared breakfast with fluffy, tasty pancakes, perfectly done eggs, crispy hash browns and a generous omelet. Our server, Dawn, took great care of us.
Given the coronavirus pandemic, we were comfortable with the mask wearing staff and spacious seating options.
Decor is a little worn, but chairs and tables were clean.

The wife had the western omelette and I had the hamburger horseshoe. Both dishes were delivered hot, fresh and tasted very good. We would definitely return when in the area again.

Great service and the food is absolutely amazing and they have breakfast all day! So much to choose from you really can’t go wrong everything is so delicious!

I love many items from the menu but the gyro.the philly.and the monte crisco are a great start .breakfast is served all day everyday. Open 7 days a wk 6am-3pm Open Friday night serving full menu as well as the best walleye in town always fresh.

Loved it! Husband said the gyro was even better in the wrap. Taco salad was really good. Realky charming and waitress was very friendly.

Waitresses way overworked. Not enough staff when there was a large local event! Very nice girls though. Food was average but ran out of bacon!
