Rockford CDL Illinois Secretary of State Facility

Best DMV there is. I was missing a certification I needed for my hazmat endorsement, but they were able to point me in the right direction. With their help, I was able to get the certification, get it into Illinois' system, and get my license updated all within an hour and a half. They processed me three times in an hour and a half! Where else can you get that kind of service!

We went there for my son's 21st birthday, as he wanted to renew his DL while in town from college. Not needing an appointment at this location, while others required one, we decided to head there. When we arrived, there was nobody in line and we were greeted by Korina She was friendly, quick, and thorough. We got his picture taken, questions answered and his vision test completed in less than 10 minutes. We even brought the correct documentation to get his REAL ID. It was a great experience and extremely fast. Korina was an A+ employee that day!

Great fast service. They were very nice and I was able to get in and out.

Mr. John and Mr Ricky, thanks again for doing your best to find a solution to the issue which happened with my CLP hard card,
I really didn’t understand what was the reason for delaying and deny, but you fixed the issue despite it took at least couple hours and recurring calls to different departments!
I saw you guys did your best and saw sincere desire to help and I appreciate it!

Let's see, its 90 degrees out, its 75% humidity, everyone is cooked and having to go out onto the boiling tarmac to help with CDL tests. And yet I still got great service from the staff at this office, just like I always do!! I have always gotten great help, answers to my questions, and customer service that we all think is how customer service should be. John and his staff of Mary, Diane and Meg stepped up to help with some really difficult and obscure questions I had. They saved me money, they got the records straightened out, and never once got flustered with my requests. Title and registration whizz kids. And, while I was there, the whole crew demonstrated some real humanity towards an older gentleman who was confused and embarrassed about the instructions for the vision test. He was language challenged, and everybody along the customer service line jumped in and tried to help him. And they did.
Once he figured out what the staff was telling him, it went very smoothly, and you could see his embarrassment melt away. It would have been easy to dismiss this guy. Instead, the team stepped up and gave him his license and his dignity back ( in front of his family members). So, Kudos to the Baxter office team. I thank you once again. They were very busy, I think about 60 people waiting for their chance to take care of business. This is 1230 Friday 8/7 the woman who I spoke with was running back and forth between the table at the door and the counter where pictures are taken. This person was the most pleasant and calm person I ever dealt with at the Secretary of state office. The last two times I have been there its been a very pleasant experience. Hard to believe this is a governmental office. Wish I could tell her name, she was just a pleasure to work with.

I arrived about 4 pm on a Friday. There were only about 8 customers in various stages of being processed. When my turn came, I was greeted warmly, given a number, and waited less than 10 minutes before Bob took care of me. Everyone needs a Bob! He was prompt, personable yet professional, and so kind! I only needed a vision test, and I do have a weak eye. He passed me right on through and wished me healing for my condition. I believe that poor reviews for the Illinois SOS offices are primarily due to customers with low expectations and bad attitudes. A smile and salutations go a long way! Just remember to always treat someone the way you’d like to be treated, and you never know what burdens the other may be carrying. Bless you all!

What a great group of people work here. My job requires me to spend quite a bit of time at the DMV. I am usually there for about 2 hours when I have to go, so I witness quite a lot of the interactions of the DMV employees and the general public. I have been to the majority of the DMV in the Chicago land area and by far and away the Rockford employees seem to genuinely care about serving the public . I've seen them go out of their way to help resolve people's problems (even making phone calls for them) and the entire staff is always so polite and welcoming even when the people they are dealing with are not.

The wait was a little long to get a number but all and all a great experience. Jennifer in particular was amazingly helpful and is epitome of good customer service! Thank you for being amazing!

Had to get my license plate sticker renewed. Love that I didn't need to stand in line behind someone trying to renew their driver's license. Very good quick service in and out

Had to go twice for a title. My issue why it took two times, but both times Carl was very helpful and professional. He took the time to help me with the process even though he was extremely busy and at one point in pain. Through no fault of his, he and his staff are working under staffed and expected to do more with less. I also want to thank the young lady working. She originally suggested to a co-worker that Carl could help me when he attempted to have me come back, that Carl might be able to help. She was to busy to get her name

They are the kindest people, a great experience both time. In and out in 10 minutes in spite of covid distancing to get license renewed Thursday about 10:00. Thank You

Karina, she is best! I got my CDL today, she was polite and helpful. She is so respectful, not like examiners in West Chicago. Dear examiners in West Chicago facility, you are just examiners, and this is only test, be more respectful, learn how to improve your attitude from Rockford facility! Black lady, who is working on West Chicago facility and failing all asian, you are rasist, change your mind, be more kind, you are only examiner, not a judge!

I had to turn in my medical card for D.O.T. you don't have to wait in line for that. Best experience ever. There were so many people in line but I got to cut to the front. Sorry people.

The instructors were very polite and helpful!!! Didn't treat you like a number. Nice attitudes! I would recommend Rockford CDL testing facility to anyone!! Forget West Chicago they suck!!! 😁👍

I've had my CDL for almost 7 years now. I've come to this spot numerous times over the years. Very friendly & efficient location. Masks are required. One of the best CDL facilities in Illinois. Thanks.

Went to Dekalb DMV what a joke. They need to close that one or get someone in there who knows how to manage. Now this one was fast. People so nice. Going to this one for everything from now on.

Very busy but the staff are friendly and professional. The wait for my number to be called took a bit but that's to be expected, once my number came up the system they have in place got me through quickly.
