Lincoln Library

One of the best Presidential Museums I’ve seen. This is easily a full day, it goes from his childhood to his assassination. Highly recommended!

Our family loves the Lincoln library! Over the last couple of years there have been so many improvements- new activities for the kids, a cleaner and more welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always upbeat and they seem to be passionate about their jobs. I can’t wait for story time on Lincoln’s lawn to start up again- my kids love it!

Helpful staff, good selection of books. Easy to use catalogue on computer. Nice displays of variously themed books.

A quiet place to enjoy a good book that had some helpful receptionist

Clean and tidy. Helpful people. Need to have driver's license and live in Springfield to get free card. There are a few street people getting warm or sleeping, but they do not bother anyone.

Great quiet library, great children’s area with puzzles, puppets, Lincoln logs, and other classic toys. Children’s librarians are so helpful when we need to find something specific. Story time is always fun and engaging. Front desk staff are helpful and courteous. We always park in the basement parking garage so my kids don’t have to be near the busy streets.

I frequent the library. I am an avid reader. I find the security rather rude at times. I know they have a lot of homeless people that hang out there, but it is a public area.

Staff is always polite & extremely helpful. Staff was able to assist me with a misunderstanding regarding a couple of misplaced books. Books were found & account cleared up with no problems!! Thanks guys!!!

I really enjoy our library, my daughter has read so many books from here. I think it's really helped her development. Has story time on Thursdays at 10:30 am, lots of free fun!

I spent every weekend at this library as a kid; I’ve just now started going back after years away. Staff are so kind and helpful— I had an especially good experience with Kate, who went above and beyond for me.

My family loves our local library. They have a broad selection of materials, books and other media, as well as an easy to use website with an excellent choice of online resources. Springfield should proudly support this facility.

A specific thank you to the LibraryOnTheGo & Electronic Resources staff and promoters. These are two of my favorite offerings of my library. The NewsBank offerings alone have made my hobbies and research so much better.

Was nice to be back at the Library to get books. Wish there were more areas to sit while waiting for you teens to pick out books. They can be particular. 😁

Staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. They do the best they can, given the poor funding situation for libraries in the state of Illinois.

Everyone there is very nice, and accommodating. You can renew your library card for no charge. You can even get photocopies with no charge.

So nice and clean and staff so helpful...free underground parking. I was glad to know they survived the pandemic and staff were wearing mask.

I love these librarians....they are always kind and helpful.
