Cook's Spice Rack & Chili

My wife and I have been to Cook's Spice Rack before a few times and have always been pleased. The food was great and the seating area was clean and bright. I had the sausage omelet with home fries and the jalapeno toast, while the jalapeno toast was good it wasn't worth the extra dollar as I didn't taste any spiciness from the jalapeno.
My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, french fries with coleslaw, she said the pork was just a bit dry but still good.
We certainly will be going back as you know you will get a great meal for a good price.

Loved having the blue gill! Good food portions. Wait staff did an excellent job taking care of everyone. This was my second visit here recently. Always a hidden gem for breakfast and of course... the chilli!

It's nice and very friendly family restaurant. We were there at Sunday night, that's their family dinner night. Food was tasty, the owner was very nice and honestly. We may go back try their normal menu, we was told by another customer their chill is very good in town.

Stopped in Springfield IL and had some fantastic Donna's Mean Green Chili and Smoked Pork Chop for breakfast with two eggs and jalapeño toast! It was fantastic! I highly recommend stopping in.

Priced like every other diner in town despite their food obviosly prepared with top notch ingredients. Servers always ready to top off your drink and making sure your food is as you like it.

I got the brisket sandwich with fries. Delicious food. I'll be back for breakfast. Love seeing another small business reopen. Welcome Back Cook's Spice Rack.

We had breakfast there on my birthday and everyone was nice and the food was fantastic. My wife and I both had omlettes.

This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, great food and great service. I ordered smoked pork steak. It was awesome and very tender. My server was Susan. She did a great job. She was very attentive to my needs and a very fun and friendly person. I highly recommend this place.

We first had their food at the Visions by JDR Holistic Fair at the Illinois State Fair Grounds. I feel in love with their chili, the Terlingua Red Chili is delicious. We try to stop in when we are in the area. Goldie and the rest of the staff treat guest like family. We had the Sweet Potato tots, I had Black Pot chili dog with shredded cheese and chips It was more than I could eat in one meal) and my husband had Hamburger Horseshoe with yellow and white cheese (he said it was soooo gooood!)

I order the Chicken Fried Steak dinner for breakfast. They really treat you well here. The place is nice and cozy. If you feel like having a quiet conversation with friends and family go in and take up a whole room there. The staff is very nice and constantly make sure your ok!

Cute little gem of a place. Very nice, laid back staff and good food. Not many places you can get smoked beef brisket for breakfast! Can't wait to go back and try the chili!

Just found my new favorite breakfast. The food was great, the staff and owner were super friendly. Great service. THEY HAVE GRITS.
Plan on coming back to check out the rest of the menu. Homemade soups and chili's. How can you beat that for a cold day. Can't wait to try them. If you haven't been you really need to check them out. Support our locals.

Loved the eggs and veggie skillet. Veggies were especially good. Waitstaff was extremely busy but still very nice. Will definitely come back.

Great food, great service. Went for breakfast today. First time we had been there. Everything was excellent. We will be back. Definitely want to try their white cheese sauce for horseshoes. ❤

All three guests ordered chili and we were content with our meals (: service was great and cute atmosphere. There are two separate rooms to choose to sit in. Both my boyfriend and his brother also had a breakfast eggshoe and enjoyed it.

What a great place to eat! Awesome prices, delicious all made from scratch food! The smoked Pork Steak is amazing! Very friendly, and attentive staff we got samples of three different things from the kitchen! Highly highly recommend, will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

Embarrassed to say that this is my first time at Cook's! It was amazing. We got there early and the owner let us come in and drink coffee until they were ready. The service was beyond great! The breakfast was amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. I can't wait to go back and get dinner some time...

I had an omelet which I asked for crisp bacon which had a great amount. I had a choice of bread about ten choices. Friend with me had a grilled tenderloin horseshoe two different cheeses with meat an inch thick! Met manager and waitress excellent!
