General John A Logan Museum

Good museum to visit in Southern Illinois. Have a lot of very nice artifacts if that is what you like. I liked the info about the southern Illinois area during the time. Won't take you a lot of time but definitely worth the time to stop by.

An excellent museum covering much of the original John A. Logan estate. Great artifacts and exhibits, several historical auxiliary sites like a print shop and garden. The staff are dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable. Admission is free but I always donate and/or buy something at the gift shop :)

The prairie garden was beautiful to see. Lots of information on the signs. And the Oak Street art festival was fun as well.

I didn't go to the museum part of it, i went to find a geocache, but the place looks really cool and historical. I'll probably go back with my 12 year old son to explore the historical side of it in the near future.

It is a very nice small town museum. Lots of historical artifacts and very knowledgeable staff. Great place for young minds to learn about are history.

Didn't know anything about Gen. Logan before going, learned a lot - lots of reading, might not be much fun for kids.

An amazing little museum with the kind of professional exhibits you would expect to see in a much larger museum, they even have a smart phone friendly video tour on their website!

Today it was the place to be, live music, many Venders, lots of people it was Great....

The Logan museum and surrounding properties are on the original Logan Farm land. Many of the homes were built in the late 1800s and also survived the 1925 tornado that destroyed much of the area and killed over a 1000 people. Be sure to visit the Hughes Gallery and the Illinois tourism center next to the museum.

Friendly staff and lots of interesting artifacts and information! Free entry, but donations are encouraged.
