Southwood Kitchen

Literally some of the best food. I almost always choose Southwood when I have friends or family in town and we want to have a nice evening out.

One of my favorite things about this place is that you can "come as you are" and still receive high quality fine dining type food.

We hadn’t come here for a long time but it definitely made our stomach happy! We got Bbq shrimp which was so delicious and I ordered Chicken dish (I can’t remember the name! ) but the skin was very crispy and the sauce they had at the bottom of the chicken tasted amazing with creamy mashed potato. My husband got Kurobuta dish, meat fell off the bone so easily with fork and it was full of flavor. No wonder they are so busy all the time! We will come back very soon 🔜

We love Southwood Kitchen! The food is always phenomenal and the service is excellent. I've eaten here at both lunch and dinner and both were good experiences. I highly recommend Southwood for your next dinner!

Great place to come to have some drinks, eat some food and enjoy friends. Staff was outstanding, the establishment clean and the food was equally amazing. There's was nothing I could find to be a negative. The food is amazing each plate was good portion size for the price, the taste is in line with cost and left satisfied. Highly recommend.

I've been eating with the wonderful people at southwood for the last several years now and I can honestly say one of the most satisfying meals and ambiance that I've ever experienced have eaten all over the world and southwood is it the top of the list

Went to Southwood Kitchen for lunch with friends. I Had the hamburger and it was absolutely delicious. My friends had the chicken sandwich and loved it. Highly recommend eating here when in Daphne Al . You cannot go wrong eating here and the Price is very reasonable!

The food is always so so delicious. Absolutely worth a stop. Always check their website for the new menu of the day and be sure to try their daily specials.

The only downside to this place is that it's closed Sunday and Monday.

Without getting in too much into detail. Food was excellent! Everything was on the level you would expect from a sort of fine dining experience. Great selection of cocktails and drinks. Menu changes often so they keep everything fresh and seasonal. Nothing we tried was really disappointing in any way. Steak was cooked perfectly, green beans, just like I like, not overcooked. Oysters were clean and fresh, Murder Point oysters as expected were salty and meaty, clean. Pairing and sides were done very balanced and interesting. Definitely recommended.

I’m giving this a 5 star review simply because they do not have an option for more than that. Hands down best food in lower Alabama. Between me and the rest of my party I got to try all 3 salads, the pork shank, the scallops, and the teres major dish. Everything I had blew me away. This should be considered a bucket list dining experience for everyone!

What an amazing dinner at Southwood! Brittany was a fabulous server that offered recommendations and answered any questions we had. The Prince Edward Island Oysters were presented in old hub caps- what an interesting idea! The Tile Fish, Prime Strip and Filet Medallions were perfectly prepared. The menus changes nightly, to offer the best and freshest ingredients. It’s always a great treat to visit Southwood Kitchen.

We had such a wonderful experience here! The staff are so friendly, the food is to die for, & the atmosphere is nice. Get the Pork belly appetizer, trust me. We will definitely be back & it is now officially one of our favorite places to eat on the Eastern Shore!

I was incredibly impressed with the food service and atmosphere, not to mention the prices. I will say I make a pretty mean Rosetta but theirs was incredible. We also got a filet and pesto salmon. No complaints whatsoever . Also the portions were very generous. I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious, found this place thanks to Google of local restaurants and glad I did, small but man does it pack flavor, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We started with the Grilled Spanish Octopus which had great flavor, as we tend to get Octopus whenever it is offered on a menu. Next up came our Tomato and fresh mozzarella salad which was delicious. Then we opted for the Eel Lake Oysters ( dozen) which were delicious. Finally she decided on the Swordfish which she seemed to enjoy and I got the Durham Ranch Elk tenderloin which man oh man was it delightful, tender and juicy and the accompaniments that went with it worked so well together. I could eat another one just thinking about it. Definitely gotta try this place out.

Came here for lunch and had a pleasant experience. Inside the restaurant is very clean even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend the BBQ shrimp as a appetizer. Had to order more bread b/c the sauce was that tasty. For the main course I got the Filet Medallion cooked medium rare and it was DELICIOUS. I’ve been to other fancy restaurants in NY/NJ that try to serve this same dish for 2x the price and doesn’t do it any justice. For an upscale restaurant the food delivers and the price is very affordable

This place surprised me with their quality of food and service. The oysters were excellent but I was blown away by the filet, vegetables, and mashed potatoes cooked in duck fat which gave a wonderfully creamy taste. The steak was perfectly seared and root vegetables were tender. I highly recommend going to Southwood.

Definitely a 10 on 10 experience. You want fine dining with great taste? This is the place to go. We had a guest visit the city and we were looking for a place for dinner. A friend suggested Southwood Kitchen. This was by far a great recommendation. We ordered a few different options of appetizers to share because they all we're very appealing. The alligator boudain balls were a slam dunk with everyone at the table. Our waiter was fantastic. We asked about the history of the establishment and he informed us this restaurant has been open for about 5 years and that directly across the alley there is a secondary location that is more casual dining. Our main dishes were the ribeye, steak and chicken. Their duck fat potatoes there are no words that can express how incredibly delicious they were. For cocktails we all enjoyed a couple old-fashion's that definitely hit the spot. As for desserts this restaurant is very smart to save a hidden gem till the end. It's not advertised on the menu at all and is strategically a great talking point for the staff. So I'll keep the allure. But I will say try and save room for dessert because it was absolutely worth every last bite.

So I have been back countless times since then and I cannot say a single bad word! We were there for Mother’s Day and had a great experience. Thank goodness it wasn’t a buffet rather a set menu that’s good quality food was reasonable portions

Another fabulous experience. This is our go-to in Baldwin County for a great dinner out. It’s one of the few restaurants we’ve been to recently where we left feeling like it was worth every penny. Service, atmosphere, presentation and taste all exceed our expectations over & over. I’m hard pressed to choose anyplace else when given the option. Our table had the squash blossom appetizers, beet carpaccio salad, the divers scallops, pork shank and elk. Even the sides were delicious 🤤

Cozy small spot with the absolute best service and well blended food I have had in awhile. A reservation is needed for dinner hours and a menu change from lunch ...great overall atmosphere , the flavors coming from my plate will definitely bring me back threw the doors!
