Pop's BBQ

While traveling we wanted to support local businesses instead of chains so we chose Pop's BBQ for this stop. It's a quiet place in a small town just a few miles from the interstate. The service was fast and friendly. The chairs were sturdy and comfortable. The one server was running the whole front of house and doing a great job. The fried okra, onion rings and fries were plentiful and fried to perfection. The burger was juicy, flavorful and grilled exactly the way I wanted. The diced BBQ was flavorful and juicy. The potato salad is southern style with good flavor and consistency. The parking lot is easy to enter and exit in a personal sized vehicle. Parking a large RV or trailer might be a bit difficult depending on how busy they are. There was a small surcharge when we used our card instead of paying cash but it literally covered the transaction fee, which is money not staying in the local community so we didn't mind. We'll stop here again if we get the chance to.

My fried catfish was delicious. I like this place so much that I had business in town and ate here both days. They make, bake and slice their own bread! It is delicious! If you are ever that way try to grab a loaf!

Every time I get back that way I have to get their fish dinners. Always fresh fried and the best baked beans I’ve ever had( saying a lot because I’m really not a bean eater) . Nice people also and are always busy. So tip your waitress!!!!!

Best Philly sandwich in town.

Best BBQ I’ve had anywhere in Kentucky, Indiana or Illinois. All you can eat ribs with sides for $11!!!! I’ll be stopping by here every time I pass through.

Pop's offers small-town comfort with big-city flavor. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. We had the best waitress, Kadinz. The restaurant was packed with the "after church" rush, but Kadinz was calm and attentive. She made sure all her guests were taken care of. We will definitely eat at Pop's again.

we went to the cozy table at 6:30, was told the kitchen closed at 6:30 (7p.m. close) so we left and drove by pop's. we stopped in and they were a bit busy. service was fast, friendly and our food was out quickly. i had a dbl hamburger and expected an 8 to 1 patty but they were more like a 1/4 lb.....may not quite, had corn nuggets and fries. this is about the only place that actually gave me enough onion when i asked for extra. it was very good and had a good price. our service was good and friendly. i will return.

Pop's BBQ is one of the best places in town to eat and their fish is the best in town

Have only ate here once but it was delicious. I called in a take out order and the food was fresh and tasty. I will definitely return to try other things. Oh, that have crinkle fries so that’s a huge plus for me. I had their pulled
Pork and it was fabulous.

Pop's Restaurant is a beautiful place. My mother and father in-law wanted us to go eat with them. Everyone loved their food! The chicken tenders were huge , the potato salad and of course the corn on the cob !!! Everyone agreed the food was absolutely amazing!!!! Pop's Restaurant is in Benton, IL. Kudos to all the employees who did an Amazing job!!!!

I ordered 5 pulled pork BBQ sandwiches for my family. The prices was incredibly cheap for the amount given. Each sandwich had enough pulled pork for two sandwiches.

So yes, I used five extra buns I had at home to make 10 sandwiches for 13 dollars (plus two sides of coleslaw.)

They give a LOT of meat for the pulled pork. Definitely worth the money!

I hadn’t been here in years and my daughter and I decided to go for fish on Friday nights. The fried bluegill was excellent, fast service and awesome food overall.

Great price and humongous portions. Great diner style food, fried fish is the main thing to get here besides the barbeque. Small seating area but takeout is quick if you want to eat at home.

I had the all-you-can eat shrimp dinner and he had the all-you-can eat catfish dinner. There was a large selection of sides to choose from. We went really close to closing time; however, the staff was still very accomodating.

Not just good fish!! We usually come here on Friday nights for the fish. This time it was Thursday and they had AYCE ribs! All I can say is YUM!!! Not your traditional baby backs but they had a great smoke flavor and plenty of meat. I have a new favorite here!!

Regular stop on way home from Dr.. the barbeque is delicious. It the fried catfish is what brings me in. It excellent in my oppion if you love fish and I do it the best in area. So if your in the area stop in you'll be glad you did.

Great food, service is always good. I have called ahead and ordered before too and they give the biggest portions!

Awesome food perfect restaurant for a family sitting fast and friendly service.

Went on 4/21/22 new menu and several items has been removed :( most if them the item I normally order.
