Captain Ceviche - Galveston

A MUST in Galveston. The food was great! It's tough to find healthy food while traveling, but this hit the spot!
The owner asked us what we typically like and helped us order the best options for us. He even came out later to check on us. His sister was kind and welcoming too. We ordered the crab ceviche and the lobster roll.

Finally made my way to galveston for vacation and had to try them. Had them in Houston and had to get my fix here. Got the hot lobster roll and the shrimp ceviche. Hands the best I’ve had anywhere in Galveston. Not to mention they ran it to my car while it was raining! Great food great service ! Recommend 100/100

Guys were really nice. It was our first time trying Captain Ceviche and they took care of us and helped us with our first order here. We tried the Shrimp and the fish ceviche’s. Bothe were really flavorful and were quite filling. We’ll be back, makes a great beach food.

Holy smokes this is the best ceviche on the island!! Fresh and tasty! Also some hot items like lobster tacos and lobster grilled cheese!! Check it out! Big portions .

The guy who owns it is very friendly and welcoming. My husband is very picky about seafood dishes and this is his favorite ceviche on the island. We've tried other dishes and they were fantastic also. I'd suggest a stop here to anyone.

first of all the service was amazing without a doubt great . i purchased a mixed platter. red fish, shrimp , crab and mixed ceviches .
absolutely delicious. since i am all things lobster i figured i am going to order a lobster roll . you will not regret , delicious and very buttery. i’ve had cousins maine lobsters lobster rolls and this captain
lobster roll has a special kick that makes it one of my top choices . amazing taste in all food , great service and very clean environment. i highly recommend. the family enjoyed the variety of ceviche . this was a hit

I am not a big online review writer but I have to share this! The lobster roll is AMAZING. I'm from Connecticut, so I know what a good lobster roll tastes like. Also pizza, but that's another story. This lobster roll is MASSIVE chunks of warm, delicious claw and tail meat. MASSIVE. Just the right amount of drawn butter. The spicy/smoky mayo is PHENOMENAL, and adds a distinct but subtle regional twist to a New England classic. That's how non-regional regional food should be done! The bun was toasted perfectly and served as the ideal vessel to deliver the lobster to my watering mouth. Unlike a Philly cheesesteak, the roll should not have a starring role here. It should be firmly in the background, supporting and enhancing the starring lobster, which in this case, it does!

The service is kind, courteous, and prompt. Just a cool dude slinging seafood.

3/5 Atmosphere....its in the Chevron parking lot on the corner of Stewart and 61st. Take your treat to the beach!

WOW. First time trying and the service was great and the food was delicious and fresh. Ordered the lobster roll and I felt like the amount of lobster was generous for the price I paid - They also have discounts available for students, locals, and others. I did my little happy dance and my boyfriend made grunts of approval while eating it. We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. This is the fastest I’ve made a review and the place deserved it - 10 out of 10 would recommend!

SOOOO GOOD// we just moved here and haven’t been able to find any good food but this was AMAZING!! I had the lobster roll and my husband and the ceviche. We also had the watermelon and the strawberry lemonade agua frescas they were also very good and refreshing. Recommend this to anyone visiting or that live in Galveston they also have other locations! Thank you for the fast food! (:

Captain ceviche is delicious. The lobster rolls are the best I've ever had. They put so much lobster. Their lobster tacos are amazing. Ive had ceviche at so many places even in other countries and nothing compares to theirs. The employees and the owner are so nice. I can't say enough good things about them.

Ordered a lobster roll and large red fish ceviche. Everything was excellent. Good flavor and he doesn’t skimp on the meat.

Would definitely recommend and plan on returning.

Absolutely delicious! I got the lobster roll with an agua de sandia. The lobster roll was so tasty, warm, and perfectly toasted. Best lobster roll on the island for sure. The agua de sandia is sooo good! Refreshing & sweet but not too sweet. I was almost halfway done with it before I took a pic haha. I will definitely be back. Thank you Captain Ceviche!

I had such a great experience at Captain Ceviche! I had a delicious aguachile ceviche with flamin hot Tostitos chips, and they even gave me a complimentary cucumber agua Fresca since 🥹 Definitely recommend!

The chef and crew were super nice and the lobster roll didn’t make it back to 45 north. Plus we saved $10 on the ENTIRE because they are BAFHL card participants!

First time there and got the lobster grilled cheese. That was the best grilled cheese sandwich I ever had. Definitely recommend it! Looking forward to trying the lobster roll next time.

I’m glad I decided to stop and try captain ceviche. This was my first time stopping and it was soo amazing!!

I had the lobster roll. It was absolutely, positively, the best thing I've ever eaten. More lobster than roll. The perfect combination of spicy mayo, butter and lemon. Excellent customer service. At $22.00, it was a splurge for me, but worth every dime. I'll be indulging myself more often with no regret. I can't believe the bad reviews...they're lyin'.

It was delicious! Only problem we had was that they first forgot about our fresh pineapple juices (thankfully we remembered before we drove off) and they got our ceviche order wrong but it was still delicious!!

I was surprised to see the poorer reviews! We had the lobster grilled cheese, shrimp ceviche and the shrimp cocktail. We LOVED the lobster grilled cheese and really enjoyed the ceviche which had a nice spice to it. Changes must have been made to the recipe because we thought it was very flavorful! The service was also wonderful, I will say it was a tad pricey, but we would come back just for the lobster grilled cheese.
