Hillcrest Cemetery

My grandfather, Richarf Croft, came from Kentucky on the train with his wife and several children. There were very few jobs in Temple, Tx. And finally he found this job of caring for this cemetary.

My mother, Edith, was born in 1913 in the house that no longer stands on the property of this cemetery.

Eventually the family hsd grown to eleven children, all of whom were born on this land.

Grandpa Croft had an artistic bent and drew a very detailed study of the cemetery and the locatiin of each grave during the time he was there.

His wife, Elizabeth, passed away at the age of around 57 and is buried here. Grandpa lived to be 99 and is now buried in this cemetsry that he worked so hard to develop.

Today many of the Croft family members and their ancestors are interred here.

Rest in Peace, beloved Croft family…and all others who have chosen Hillcrest Cemetery as their final resting place in this very peaceful clime.

I love that they have a special section called ‘Baby Land’. You are allowed to make it special with flowers, nick backs and such. The loved ones left here on Earth have decorated the little ‘angel’ graves and made it colorful and beautiful.

My mother has been buried since 2006. Very peaceful place.

Tremendously helpful and courteous people here that are very sympathetic to your needing to find a loved one. 🥲 So thankful for their service

This place is so unprofessional, turns to social media & humiliated my family exposing our loved one ... Sara Federle needs more professional training to contact the family first not run to social media to get attention
