Hiwassee foodmart

This place has changed hands a few times and has just reopened under the name Hiwassee Country Cafe and Grill. The owners seem real nice and the service is pretty good. Looking forward to patronizing this place a lot!

They sale old products. When you say something about it they act like your wrong for asking for a fresh product. I bought something they hand it to me it was 30 days out of date. I say you have something fresher. They handed me a 3 day expired product. I opened it in front of the clerk she talked to the other lady behind the counter acted like I was a problem. So I handed her 6.19 and threw the product in the trash. No one offered to say oh wait let me give you a refund nothing. My advice is NEVER EVEN STOP HERE. The ac is not working so if you want a candy bar it is melted. It's not like they are just trying to repair its Been out for a month. When someone rips me off I never return. I don't care if people shop here just know you have been warned

This store has went down so much. It used to have a great deli and for the most part what you woukd expect from a store like this. Now they close early, deli is embarrassing and nothing to choose from

If there was a way to give this joke of a store a 0 they've earned it.

Two weeks ago, my daughter, her BF and I stopped by this store so I could eat lunch. I had three very greasy egg rolls and diet coke.

There is a money machine by front door where you put quarters in to win folded bills. The folded bills are folded in a way to get stuck in the slot if you win. You have to keep adding coins to make the bill fall on through.

My daughter had put some coins in the machine and it said she'd won $20, which got stuck in the slot.

There were two women working behind the counter so she advised one of them she'd won $20 but it was stuck. The woman said "well, it belongs to the owner."

My daughter politely asked if she could speak to the owner and was promptly told "no, he's out of town."

When asked for his phone number, the woman rudely said "no, he doesn't want to be bothered."

Flabergasted my daughter came and sat down beside me at the table and commented on the appalling rudeness of that employee.

At the moment my daughter sat down, that employee took $6.00 in quarters belonging to herself and proceeded to feed the machine with the jammed $20 bill, which fell on down after the woman's quarters had been put in.

The $20 bill and the $6 in quarters fell into the area for collecting winnings. She walked back to the counter and put the winnings into her purse!!

My daughter walked over and said "that's my $20 bill." The woman smiled, said nothing and went back to work.

Since I witnessed the whole scenario and knew that the owner might be at the Hiwassee (Reliance) Fly & Tackle, we drove over there to see if the owner was there. He wasn't but a man there said he was his brother. My daughter told him what happened and was advised he'd tell his brother.

No one has called, no text message not a word from the owner.

The owner may be a good man like I've heard but the two women employees there aren't so great. One of them owes my daughter $20 along with an apology.

I doubt either will occur. Neither will I visit this store nor will our family and many friends ever set foot inside this store again.

The man at the next table told me his hamburger was raw in the middle, showed it to me and indeed it was

New owners. The store looks clean and bright and uncluttered.
The cashier was friendly and staff were friendly.
The burger however was disgusting. I don't think it was even real beef. I couldn't even eat the meat. And I was starving.
I won't go back.

HORRIBLE!! No knowledge of how to make a Cheese steak, let alone put the word Philly in front of it! Took approximately 40 minutes to make 5 tiny steaks and still couldn't get them right. Oh don't forget the fact that I was asked at the last minute if I wanted cheese on my "cheese steaks!!" On top of that, the cheese was stuck to the paper, not even on the sandwich. We will never eat there again. So if you know what good cookin is then do not torture yourself by eating from there! Our dogs will not even be fed this mess!
Lesson learned!
