Loved this cool retreat away from Nashville. There were some lovely picnic spots along the river and great hiking. We came in on a Thursday, late afternoon, and there were three camping spots left so you may have a hard time finding an open spot by Friday evening would be my guess. The camping spots were great and very accessible for motorcycles. Our neighbors were super friendly and you could definitely bring your dog here! Check out the little historical cabin that commemorates Merriweather Lewis (of Lewis and Clark fame) and his untimely death.

No showers but flush toilets. Nice camp with an abundance of pull through sites. No hookups of any kind. First come first served, we put a camp chair in the spot to hold it for us. Oh, and the price, free.

This is a really beautiful campground. It was easy to find a spot and the restrooms are very clean. There is no fee for camping and it is first come, first serve. The hikes are beautiful!

Great campground! Not many people were there. We said for 4 days. Plenty of space between sites. A lot of trees to set up a hammock and get shade. There was 2 water spigots and 1 bathroom with a handful of stalls. No showers that I saw. All kinds of flowers are blooming this time of year. We tried to hike the loop, but it was really overgrown and the ticks were bad.

This was a Beautiful Campground!!! I live near Nashville and can't afford much at the moment. Very dark and creepy at night.. lol.. VERY DARK!!!! No unruly people. I could only stay one day. I am building a little more here and there so I can have what is needed for camping. Internet service was present at times. Phone service was a challenge as it was. I played a few offline games on my tablet. You know, camping is a place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. If you want to camp at a place where you can put technology down for a little while, you will be forced to at Meriwether Lewis Campground!!!! I will work my way around to other Campgrounds but this place will be one I will revisit!!!!

When you were traveling the Natchez Trace this is definitely a camper's Paradise. It's a little bit off the road but that ensures here none of the very light traffic. It has beautiful paved roadways and campsites. Some are pulled through some are back in but all are very spacious with picnic tables and some have fire pits. It's a great place to come and relax while on vacation or if you're just taking a trip. There is a combination of RVs both big and small trailers and tents and hammocks. A great place to see the sunrise and the sunset and to enjoy the sounds of the birds and leaves falling in the autumn.

This place is mesmerizing! Just perfect to camp in a tent or with an RV. Loved this place, it is peaceful, quite. Awakening with the birds chirping. The trails are an awesome asset to your camping experience. Camping is primitive although there are bathrooms within walking distance and source of water throughout the campground. I highly recommend this place!

Can't beat the price!!! Zero! Nice clean bathrooms, but no showers. No hookups so be sure your fresh water tank is full and generator (if you need electricity and have one) has enough fuel. Quiet too. Best sleep we had for a while.

Great campsite! Lots of spaces with plenty of room at each site. Lots of ticks though find 3 on my dog after going 100 yards onto the trail that was pretty overgrown. Turned around after that. Still a great free place to park and hangout for a few days.
Update: 4 foot rattlesnake roaming around camp, just be aware.

Quiet, clean, modern. Free camping at its best. Has bathrooms as well, so tent campers, this camp is great for you too. All sites are paved some are pull through but these go fast, so have a plan B just in case.

Free camping with fire pit and attached grill, picnic table, trash can, and nearby toilet with drinking water. LOTS of RVs stop here for the night. We got lucky, no one was running their generators all night. Plenty of wood to scrounge up for a fire, but you'll need a hatchet. If it wasn't so surprisingly busy on a cold, rainy Tuesday in October, we would have enjoyed it more, but I suppose it being busy speaks to how nice it is. About 6-8 miles worth of hiking trails total, estimated.

There's 30 free camping spots with bathrooms. Love the easy pull into spots and fire pits with picnic tables. There is one handicap spot next to the bathrooms. Squirrels frolic about the campgrounds.

Nice campground. I lucked out and got in an area where people didn't have generators running. I think some people live in that campground, but seem just fine.

Great time for a free night or two camping. Toilets are a good way off but everything is clean. A good number of mosquitoes and it was great to see all the lightning bugs

Stayed the night here on site 5 on our way home from The Homestead Festival in Columbia TN. Site 5 is a pull through and was very easy to get into in the dark. No hookups but it is free. Walked around the campground in the morning and would definitely stay here again. I imagine it could get very hot in the peak of summer.
