Whistle Stop Park

So much shade, restrooms, and things to climb and play on! I’d say perfect for around ages 2-10. Tons of shade 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 and bathrooms! Love it here!

Such a gem of a playground! There is SO much to do for many age groups. It’s our favorite park in the area!! We enjoyed playing and getting to watch the various trains go by.

Such a fun playground. Extensive play structure, separate area for little kids, swings, balance beams, tire swing, slides galore. On a practical side, there’s a fence that runs all the way around with a single entrance, and restrooms just outside the entrance. Lots of shade trees around the perimeter and inside so you are mostly shaded all day long. Benches and picnic tables around the outside of the fence as well as a pavilion nearby. It’s right next to the train tracks and my kids loved watching the trains go by.

Lots of shade and a fun park to play on. It's large and has space for younger and older children. I like that it has a fence around the entire park with one entrance/exit. We enjoyed it and would go again!

Oh my word... the best park EVER! Stray from your route just a wee bit and take a "breather" here, worth it! Magical! Don't pass this stop, make it a point while traveling! An answer to our prayer while driving cross country. Artsy and thoughtful! Did my Mother's heart much good, too. I became teary eyed, thanking God we happened to "stumble" upon this place while traveling; our boys being anxious from sitting too long, I panicky looked up the closest kid area, and the timing was right on when discovering this location. We have a 2 & 4 yr old, and moving far away, permanently, has been exhausting and emotional, so this peaceful "break" was what we all needed. The photos don't do it justice, it is enchanting in person.
They do have bathrooms too.

I had never been to this park before being invited to my baby cousins birthday party. I really enjoyed myself. Everyone did!!! It was perfect. Very clean... Great space .. But still able to keep an eye on your children from a safe distance!

This park is soo cute! Everything is based off trains. I love that there is the main park but also a smaller park within the park for toddlers and babies! The jungle gyms are awesome. The rest rooms are very clean and well maintained. This park has plenty of trash cans and lots of places to picnic. It even has a big pavilion perfect for parties!

This is a great park the city takes care of it very well it's all set up very kid friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

This park is our favorite one in Temple. I just wish there was a gate at the entrance. There's a toddler section so it'd be nice if parents of multiple kids could bring their toddlers and young kids and let them play without having to worry about whether they're going to run off while they're distracted with another kiddo. It doesn't make sense to me that there'd be a toddler/baby section and not have a safety gate.

It's a very nice park, well kept. I like the design as there's only one entry/exit point. It's a good location, my kids really enjoyed it.

Great little park for kids, especially kids who like trains. If you don't have kids, but you do like trains, this is a great spot to walk around and grab shots of BNSF power in the yard and on the main. Also has a covered seating area to keep you cool from the hot summer sun. There's always lots of kids around so your kids can easily make friends and play together at Whistle Stop park.

Great place to take the kids or grandkids to unwind ..run..play.. swing..just let off some of that energy...clean.. different age appropriate entertainment...and the best is that the trains go right beside the play ground.

This is a great and fun park. It has a walking path, a large play area, and is right next to the temple railroad and heritage museum.

Great park and it’s easy to watch your kids, my kids love this place

This is a great park. We are from out of town and needed a place for my 4-year-old to play. The park is clean and safe, clean bathrooms, and she loved getting to see the trains. Be prepared for your shoes and clothes to get a little dirty due to the ground covering in the play area.

My kids love this park, in the summer, it’s a little too crowded because of all the summer camp activities, but it’s pretty big, so there’s room for everyone.

If you're a railfan then this is a park to go to. The north bound Texas eagle Amtrak gets there around 11:00 to 12:00 in the morning. The playscape is big for kids 12 and under and trains are there 24/7. Last time I was there I saw a parked Canadian Pacific Engine.
