Der Dutchman

There was only about a five minute wait to be seated, and it was definitely worth it. The food here was delicious and reminded me of my grandmas cooking. It made me feel very nostalgic. The service also had to be the absolute best service I've ever received in a restaurant. The server was patient, friendly, and observant of our needs without being overbearing. I also love the little shop/bakery that's attached to the restaurant.

We came all the way from Europe, specifically from the Netherlands, to try delicious Dutch food!

There is plenty of food and space in this place. We decided to not order something specific, but to take food from the buffet and everything was really good and tasty.

Great food! Salad bar was few ash we'll sticked. The Breakfast bar is amazing. The view is one of the best in Amish country.

If you are looking for a nice lunch or dinner than der Dutchman is the place. There is great food and an incredible bakery.
Firstly, the food is incredible with savory and sweet for anyone. As an anonymous customer told me," Der Dutchman is really good." This shows that Der Dutchman is an obvious option for lunch or dinner.
Secondly, Der Dutchman is in a great location with lots of other things to do. As an anonymous customer said," Yeah, right before Der Dutchman I went on a hike to Dundee Falls and got some good pictures by a water fall." This shows that you could easily include Der Dutchman in a great day hiking and doing fun things.
Lastly, Der Dutchman has a great bakery with amazing pastries and jams. As a satisfied customer said," I got some raspberry jam and I'm going to put it on some cheese cake, plus there was a bunch of donuts and cookies." This shows that Der Dutchman isn't just a great place for lunch or dinner, it is a great place for dessert.
In conclusion, Der Dutchman is a great place for a great day, providing both lunch or dinner and a great dessert.

Wonderful restaurant.
My strawberry salad with candied pecans was the best strawberry salad I've ever had.
My husband's meatloaf dinner with 2 sides cottage cheese and coleslaw was fantastic.
The fresh wheat rolls were tasty.
Our cheesecake was delicious. I had the rubarb sauce it was perfect. Gary had the plain. We were surprised by the portion size of everything in this meal our lunch was also our dinner.
Next time we plan on the buffet which looked delicious.

Visiting from Vidalia, Georgia! So much could be said! Food was delicious! Restaurant was beautiful….amazing views from window tables! Staff and service was outstanding! Oh and the Bakery! Oh my!

An incredible breakfast buffet with a wide variety of hot and cold breakfast items. Food was very good!
Staff was very attentive which made the dining experience that much more enjoyable.

Excellent hot buffet and salad bar. Family style meals were also available last time I looked. Friendly and efficient staff. Pepsi products. I especially like their iced tea.

Recently remodeled. The door is no longer on the corner of the building. They now take your payment at the table.

Great tasting food for the 40 plus years that I've visited.

Beautifully remodeled since I was last there, it's enormous now and lovely. Our waitress was busy but very attentive; getting our drinks before we had to ask. Food was good Amish homemade. Roast beef was so tender, yum. Buffet was the only thing available when we visited which had many choices. It was $18.95 a person for buffet.

This is someplace we love to go to eat and have been coming to our whole marriage. We had lunch at Der Dutchman to celebrate our anniversary and to our surprise love the newly renovated entry and waiting area.

Food is ALWAYS delicious and service is impeccable.

Love the bakery and the new path to the bakery that you can now take without leaving the building. Enjoyed my ritual rock in the rocking chair and to boot it was warm in Walnut Creek.

🛍 Take out / To Go experience. 🍠🍗 Tasty food and Must try pie 🍰. Sides were large portions.

🕒 Saturday 3PM visit had 30 mins wait time for table. Staff at the door were pleasant, take your contact number to text when the table is ready.

The take out order was placed swiftly. Food is ready in 10 mins. The bakery leaves an adult with Candy 🍭 shop experience. Too many to order from.

Large parking space at the rear. Great views of the valley 🏞 from parking.

Waitress was very nice and brought us our food right away. Brennan in the bakery went out of his way to give me warm cinnamon rolls with a big side of frosting to go! We’re we’re all excited cause we came there from Medina, oh. Good and service is always excellent! —Sandy Norton—

Great breakfast buffet. There was a great selection of breakfast items. Food was hot and good tasting.

We got to try our first taste of fried mush, a local favorite.

Their staff was very attentive. I drink decaf coffee and they had a great way for the waitress to know to refill mine with decaf. See the photo I added.

Great Homestyle cooking in the heart of Amish country. The view from this restaurant is amazing. We ordered the buffet and it was great but their desserts stole the show. Dutch apple pie with homeade ice cream and NY style cheesecake with peaches 😋. It would be difficult to find a restaurant with staff as great as they have. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Yum!!! The salad bar was delicious! Gluten-free items are marked on the menu. Beautiful view!

The salad bar has everything you'd want, they even finely chop it up. They make an amazing cookie pudding. The hot bar is everything you'd hope to try with Amish style food. Everything tasted great. Once it got busy I didn't even notice except for it took a while to get the check. Also, be aware usually there is a line out the door and the seating is pretty open.

Great food and service. One of our favorite places to eat. Remodeling looks wonderful! Will be back next trip down there.

We went there for dinner before a concert at the Ohio Star theater. I told our waitress that I have to avoid dairy products, and then ordered the fish sandwich. She returned a few minutes later, concerned that the fried fish breading might have milk in it. She suggested I change the order to a grilled fish sandwich , which I agreed to. It was the most delicious fish sandwich I've ever had; moist, well seasoned, and generously size. I gave her a nice tip. I also took a piece of cherry pie to go. I ate it after the concert. It was really good.

Beautiful place, awesome food and super nice staff. Heard a lot about this place and found it worth coming here. The location is beautiful. Ample of parking space even for RV’s and trucks. It has a huge dining hall with booths having pretty landscape views. The food here is too good. Chicken pot pie I have never this delicious kind. Everything was just perfect. The back side of Der Dutchman has a fantastic view which looks like mini Switzerland where you can take pictures. Our server was Shelby she was very nice and kind. Kids will love the ice cream here. They also have salad bar.

Always good, home style cooking. Broasted chicken rocks! Sides always good. Recommend going during the week, place is very busy on weekends
