Very good food, service & reasonable prices. Wish it stayed open later & would be opened on Wednesday's.

This restaurant used to be Duke's Diner, it is now Mel's Diner as of 2024. The seating became comfortable and enhanced when they took out the plastic booths. Food is straightforward, simple, and well made. Coffee could use some help but the food was delicious.🤗

This is a pretty iconic "greasy spoon". Duke's has been around for as long as I can remember and it's still the same experience after all these years. Food is great and portions are generous. Wait staff are always friendly and on the ball.

Home made cinnamon buns! Despite the sign on the door about closing at a specific time on a holiday, people just kept coming in and they handled it with grace and courtesy. Food was delicious, service was outstanding

I didn’t think diners could get any better, & then I came to Dukes. I ordered my usual - 2 eggs over easy, cheese, home fries (or hash) and a pancake. This food had FLAVOR - I normally have my partner eat my home fries but I demolished them. Eggs were perfectly cooked, pancake was melty and sweet. The waitress, Chantal, was the only one of the floor and she did a beyond fantastic job. Even moved me to bigger table so I’d be cozier !!! That’s someone who shows up and cares - you can see her pretty much every Saturday or Sunday. Make this your spot, the chefs do NOT disappoint!

Best home fries I've ever had. Glad to support a local business. Take a few minutes off the highway and enjoy this gem when you're in or passing by. Highly recommended.

Little spot off the road. Today's special was a lumberjack omelet? incredible! Make sure and eat it with home fries and red hot sauce. Awesome, super tasty. Came got a table , coffee. No nonsence Great food . Its a small place, so maybe call ahead. I was not prepared for how good it was. Flavor bomb.

It was my first time today at Duke's Diner and it was perfect. The food is great and the service too. The waitress even ask me if I wanted onions with my potatoes. It's a really nice place in Plattsburgh.

Our family loves Diners. We are always disappointed with home fries... always. Dukes makes home fries exactly the way they should be made, they were amazing! The rest of the food was a complete homerun as well. We made it a point to thank the cook! Our waiter was hands down the nicest most polite waiter we have ever met. We have never given such a high tip before. If you are a tourist/ out of towner debating where to go, you must go here!

Since moving to Plattsburgh in December I have been searching for a good breakfast restaurant. I believe I finally found it. It's surprising to find how many restaurants in the area don't know how to cook an over medium egg or they're cooking causes intestinal distress. Dukes diner is absolutely perfect. Friendly wait staff and the cook knows how to make a medium egg. Bonus!

It was kinda funny.. My husband and I were going to Plattsburgh to do some xmas shopping and I had put in Denny's Diner since it was close to noon when we got there and we both wanted breakfast. Well when we hit our destination and we were looking around for the Denny's I looked at my phone and noticed it said Duke's Diner. He and I started laughing and said oh well hopefully they are still serving breakfast. To our surprise they were. Duke's is a charming little diner with quite a large menu. The food was delicious and my eggs were perfect. It's hard to get over medium eggs cooked right. I like yoke but can't do slimy. The portions were large and the price was more then reasonable for what we received. We were very happy with our meals and the service was great! Thank you for serving breakfast all day on Sunday! We will be back again!

Great joint - Breakfast hours was done, but the cook was soooo nice and agreed to do breakfast for us ! Will be back!

A nice surprise! This was my first visit after years of just passing by. The current management has turned this eatery into a very pleasant experience. The menu is stocked with many diner favorites. This will not be my last visit.

Came to Duke’s Diner on a rainy Saturday with our family – for brunch. The food was excellent, with great portions – the pricing was on par with other joints that served similar food. The service was excellent. The only drawback was if you ordered water, it’s bottled water at $2/bottle!! Restaurant was at reduced capacity – a bunch of to-go orders. They have the option of ordering from your car, with a huge menu on the side of the shop. Definitely a place I’d go to again – the food was that good.

First time here for my husband and I. We love finding small local diners whenever we travel. The food was delicious and plentiful. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. And you can’t beat the prices! Will definitely be back next time we are in town
