The best banking experiences I have ever experienced anywhere. Small town kindness with nationwide options for those that travel. I wish I found this a long time ago as the mega bank I was a customer at for years treated me like a number. Three cheers to every staff member at Spire from the tellers to the Management!!

I’ve had an account with Spire for years! Every encounter I’ve had has been so pleasant compared to other banks. Today I went in and I had a BUNCH of stuff that needed to be taken care of, and I knew I was going to be a hassle. A woman named Karen in the Milaca Branch helped me with everything with a SMILE! Someone give this lady a raise! Thank you for your patience Karen!

I love spire so much. I had an auto loan with them but a checking and savings at TCF. I switched completely and now do all my banking with spire. The atmosphere is so different from a traditional bank, the customer service is way better than tcf or other banks, and the ease of use is so much better too. I love this credit union and I'll never go back to a "bank"

This place is kept clean and neat. The workers are also very kind and they take fairly good measure to keep everything safe.

I went to the Milaca Branch to just talk to someone about IRA rates. Of course there was no one to be seen except for the teller who was with a customer. When the customer was done, I was standing there and the teller walked away, as though she didn't see me. She went into the back where there was at least 2 other employees and when she came back out about 5 minutes later, the teller asked how she could help. Well, already irritated listening to them laughing while I was waiting, I said I wanted to talk to someone about IRA rates. So the teller yells to someone in the back if she had time and she said is that my 1 o'clock? Ummm well it was 1:20 and the teller said no and the person in the back said that I needed to make an appointment. But they could get me in at 2. What? Clearly they don't want me put my retirement in their bank. I felt customer service definitely was lacking the day I went. Guess I will keep my accounts elsewhere. I was trying to get my accounts local. This has definitely changed my mind.

Please, please, please separate the atm from the drive up lanes again. It can be very frustrating wasting time waiting for customers that could be using a different lane. After all, time is money and it’s wasting mine.

I've ALWAYS felt that IF I am to trust a FINANCIAL institution, they should TRUST ME, BUT, this one REALLY DOES NOT, ALSO, they DON'T replace your debit CARD as needed, so YOU CAN'T BANK WITH THEM UNTIL IT'S UPDATED, BUT IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, NOT THEIRS, BUT THEY HA E COMPUTERS, I DON'T!!! TRUSTWORTHINESS, QUESTIONABLE!?? 🤔🙏🙏🙏

I’ve previously had a great experience with all employees of spire in Milaca. I applied for a loan my banker was Ashley Taylor immediately I got the vibe she was new to this or incompetent. I was approved immediately and have tried to get an update from Ashley when I could sign the papers and get the money. She never returned a phone call or email. I went into the bank and she rudely said I’ve been busy but will finalize it when I can. The following Tuesday another message left for her and email sent still no reply. I’m very disappointed with her. I would recommend working with someone else other than her she rude unhelpful and the communication was non existent. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a banker.

I have had a couple issues with spire. They have great rates but their customer service can be poor. First I went to get a loan for a 2017GMC 2500 Sierra, which was being purchased from an auction. I mentioned right up front it was from an auction. Got approved and everything was going good. I had to be on a flight so they told me that I would get an e-document to sign and that I would receive it in 20-30min via email. An hour goes by and no email, so I call them. I call the persons direct line that I was working with. "Sorry your loan was denied because it is coming from an auction". I asked to talk to a manager and the manager explained their policy... That's fine but I just wasted 4+ hours going through the loan process. After explaining this to the manager his reply was, "she is telling me she was never informed this truck was purchased from an auction". It was discussed several times throughout the loan process. I had to write a check for the truck out of my business account. I wasn't happy.
Fast forward to today. My father calls for a loan on a 2014 Jayco. He was purchasing this camper from out of state. This was told to them right up front. Which their reply was "that's fine this should go through with in 24hours". My father goes into the bank to get things started and do the paper work. He was told his payments would be $350 a month. He was also told that they need to send in the paper work to the main office and then the main office sends it back for him to sign. This all sounds like a quick process. 4 business days go by and nothing from Spire. Finally yesterday 9/30/2019 my father calls them. To which the Lady at the bank replies that the paper work isn't ready and is waiting on the main office. He decided to go in to hopefully get this process moving faster. To his surprise his loan price has gone up to $420 a month. She said it was because of tax and license fees(which she asked if he was going to take care of these fees the first time they met). She stated they do not allow him to take care of his own tax and license fees. Then at 4:00pm(end of the day) she says "does the seller have a paper copy of the title?". This is an out of state vehicle(which was mentioned 8 days ago) and different states have different policies on proof of ownership. The bank owns this vehicle, so now the seller has to have the bank send proof of ownership which can take up to two days. How was this not mentioned 8 days ago when my father first walked in?
I booked a plane ticket to pick the vehicle up this Saturday and arranged a babysitter for my daughter. I am a single father, so this took a lot of planning to get this vehicle back. It was planned in this time frame based on the information Spire provided to my father. The first phone call to spire was made almost 2 weeks ago. Spire made this seem like a simple/fast process and it has been anything but.
To top it off they say they are going to mail the check once they get proof of owner ship. Mail the check!? Now we have to wait for them to mail the check, the current owner to pay off his loan, and then get a lien release..
I really want to like Spire, like I said in the beginning they have great rates, but their professionalism and customer service is lacking. It's really a shame.
