Excellent experience. Important history and culture filled within this house. Our family was just passing through the area and came across this house. Underground railroad type of history. We stopped and we were offered a tour of the home. Beautiful and a great deal of knowledge! I would recommend touring it. They are open during limited times so I would recommend calling beforehand.

Excellent tour guide gave us a wonderful rendition of how things worked on the underground railroad. Well worth a stop for some really interesting local and national history.

Neat place to visit. Lots of really interesting facts about the underground railroad, the house, and the area around it. It was also decorated inside for Christmas.

The Bonine House is an important part history. It has been beautifully restored and is a reminder of the courage and compassion exhibited by members of this community at a difficult time in our nation's history. It is well worth your time to visit this touchstone to the past.

Good place to visit if you want to know about your heritage. Black or White. I met both. They all shared their own stories. I found it very interesting. The Event is held in Vandalia Mi July 13. Admission is free but donation are welcome.

James Bonine was my 4 greats uncle. This area was instrumental in freedom from enslavement in our country. Learn about the sacrifices of our ancestors and the changes they helped inspire.

The people who've invested their money and time into restoring this property are to be commended for their labor of love.

If you get a chance to check this historical old Underground Railroad house, do it! They are working on restoration and aren't always open but be sure to donate when you stop by! Such a beautiful house, and the girl who was working was so friendly!
