Waukesha Hangar - Poplar Grove Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum

We found Waukesha Hangar on accident thru a Google search. We were camping in the area and when looking for some fun activities we stumbled upon this unique place. We made plans to visit on a Saturday and so glad we went. We were first greeted by the friendliest person who gave great info on the museum. While on the small side, this place is a gem. There are amazing old planes and cars, unique displays, a library and a little gift shop. There's also an old gas station and garage on display on the property. As this is a very active airport, it's also fun to watch the planes take off and land. If you're into aviation and history, this worth seeing. It was also just $5... great entry fee.

A wonderful experience! Betty, my host at the museum, was a delight to speak to. I learned about many different aircraft and vehicles from this sweet woman. It was a busy day so I was also able to sit and watch the air traffic for a bit. Everything was pristine! Don’t forget to pick up a copy of a few books in the museum; a delight to read in my travels.

What a cool, unique place! Literally everything is historical, interesting, and has a very cool story! If you get the chance, just stop in! You won't regret it. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. A truly unique spot!

It was so cool to watch the planes take off and land. We went on Saturday morning. There was a ton of plane activity. My son loved watching them. The museum was nice and informative too. We also watched them rebuild a plane in Jenny's hangar.

Great museum with lots of history. I think my favorite was the stories about the early flight attendants. And the people who work there are so nice and very informative. Would definitely visit again!

We had the pleasure of visiting this gem of aviation history! The enthusiasm of the staff was infectous! The museum has a great flow that leads from one exhibit to another so that we did not miss a thing. It is well thought out and beautifully organized. There is so much to see and I highly recommend a visit!!

Love coming here to relax and unwind. Watching all the private aircraft taking off and landing is a stress reliever for me. Everyone is very friendly and inviting.

Small museum, but filled with great people and great conversation. Well worth the visit just to watch all the vintage and antique aircraft using the adjacent airport. No problem walking to the edge of the grass strip to watch the action.

We had a guided tour and he was very informative. They took every percaution during the tour to social distance. The museum was clean and we'll maintained. It is in a beautiful place.

Nice smaller museum, house in a 1930's airplane hangar that was moved piece-by-piece from Waukesha, WI. Well-done exhibits, enthusiastic volunteer hosts. Interesting artifacts, and a nice, small airport atmosphere.
Best thing is the volunteers who do the lion's share of the work. They love the place, and it shows. Stop in sometime.

Great little museum with a fantastic aviation library upstairs. Very helpful and friendly curator. The cutaway radial engine you could spin was really cool!

What a wonderful place to learn about some aviation history. This museum has history even in the building itself. If you're looking to see some really neat exhibits without traveling far this is it.
