It's good food, small town vibe with a bar. You can also order togo via phonecall. Pretty sure it's a little understaffed but it doesn't take away from the quality.

The Sweet BBQ Cheddar Bacon Chicken is delicious! A MUST HAVE!!! The salad bar is also very nice. Its a meal all on it own. You can also get it as a side with your entrées.

So our plane from Punta Gorda, Fl landed at Mid-America Airport at 7:30am yesterday and on our way home from Spring Training 2020 (go Cards!) at 8:30am we stopped at the Lantern Pub in Ashley,il for food and they had ready to eat from the most amazing salad bar we have ever seen. EVER SEEN EVER. It's worth the 1/2 hour drive from Mt.Vernon,Il if you love salads. It comes with a soup of the day. Yesterday's soup was chicken noodle. And no they didn't comp me for this review.

Food was delicious and hot. The salad bar was good, a nice selection. All the staff was friendly and few of them served us besides the first server who took our order. Nice, quiet atmosphere

The pub, has amazing food. One of the best examples of a small town restaraunt/diner/bar type thing you could expect to find. Packed around dinner tome on Sundays. I got the catfish and it was fantastic. I've had the tacos before on Tuesday as well and they are also amazing. Well stocked salad bar, me and my girlfriend have gone in before at lunch just to enjoy the salad bar. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

As always the food from the lantern was excellent. We got their chicken dinner for carry out last time. A fried chicken with Coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and brown gravy. There's only two of us so it's dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. If we don't get the chicken we get their fish sandwiches. They are excellent as well.

Their food is good especially the chicken special & the salad bar. Their service is good & the atmosphere is nice. Very clean restaurant 👌

This place is GREAT! ALWAYS get hot food, fast and friendly waitresses. Good environment. I took my mom there for her birthday.

Awesome experience! We had 2 small children with us and the ladies were very attentive to them and didn't mind them being kids. Food is always excellent, especially the pie!

We ate breakfast there, there was 8 in our group, our bill was 65.oo dollars...wow ... and we all.had more than enough to eat... my fav was yhe Haystack.... Great food, staff friendly and helpful and great prices

This is the 2nd time I have brought my family to the L.P. for a Sunday chicken dinner. We had a very good meal and had plenty of it. The waitresses we had were very very nice and didn't hesitate to make sure our drinks were filled and plates were full of chicken. Plenty of tables and space so a person wouldn't feel like they were sitting on someone else's lap. Thank you L.P., we shall return!

All you can eat fried chicken on Sundays is the best hangover remedy ever! Decent sides, delicious sweet tea and a list of pies that will blow you away. The service was great, our bartender was the sweetest thing. Double bonus, with ayce fried chicken being the first, you can order beer to go. I'm sure it's commonplace in Illinois, but a big novelty to us Tennesseans.

Stopped in, food was great staff friendly. Nice clean place, haven't tried fried chicken yet but sure it will be good! UPDATE: Had the chicken it was the greatest! Will be stopping again.

Not the fanciest of places BUT the food AND the service was out of this world!

The food was very good. Taking into consideration that our waitress was new, she did a good job. I would definitely go back!

I love their salad bar and had a lot of choices on it and their chicken was excellent food quality was excellent and the pricing was very reasonable

Great food and great service. I had the fried chicken special. Definitely the best fried chicken out there.
