Historic General store from 1870.In 1940, it transitioned into the great American rural tavern it is today. It’s s what Texas Roadhouse was before they sold out. No better authentic Tavern food around. Many bars, taverns, roadhouses, pubs, come and go, but there is a reason BUCKHART TAVERN had lasted 154 years. Had lunch with several people, the food was very reasonably priced, it was very good, our server was attentive and very nice and we loved the atmosphere. We will be back!

Fun Place to chill and talk with people. Real wooden fire place is nice to warm you cold hands in the winter time. Homemade pizza's are great, and the tacos on taco night are worth a lot more than they charge.

This is a new place to us and we have yet to disappointed in the food, ambiance and the friendly staff.

It's an experience! Local lunch crowd gathers during week, out of towners invade on weekends. Poneyshoe was very good, a central Illinois thing. Try it!

Nice rural tavern. We usually go on Wednesday nights for their $1 taco night. I dont.know what their secret is, but the tacos are fantastic! Good people, good fun!
