Rooster's Roadhouse

I happened upon this place during a road trip as I was burnt out of fast food and wanted to try something unique and local, and what a pleasant surprise this was! A total gem!

Highly recommend the Redneck Sushi if you want BBQ brisket with a twist, it's complimented well with a horse radish based sauce that is great! All Beef is lean, tender and packed with flavor. Their menu is fairly large. If you have a large appetite try your hand at the Triple Decker King Brisket!
If you're in the road and looking to get out of typical fast food and want to experience a local dive. This is definitely one for the books!

Everything was tasty! Especially the smoked Turkey! The sausage for me was a tad overdone though. We each got a 2 plate entree.. plenty filling! We really liked our sides, beans and rice and cowboy coleslaw. Good service too

Always enjoyed going to roosters. My blackened chicken bowl was very filling. They had just the right amount of chicken, rice, and corn. If I would’ve thought about it, I would’ve asked to add black beans! Hubby had the cheese buffalo burger with french fries. The burger had mushrooms, bacon, cheese, and a fried egg! The french fries were good and crispy. We enjoy going here whenever. We are passing through Decatur. 5 stars!

We always visit, and I mean ALWAYS, Sweetipie’s but decided to give Rooster’s one good try. We were not disappointed! We were seated immediately and our orders were taken to the kitchen promptly. The food took less than half an hour to receive despite the busyness of Friday lunch rush.

We started off with a half-order of bacon cheese fries which were soooo good! They are served with ranch. I ordered a patty melt since it was starred on the menu as a favorite. It was amazing, the sweet caramelization of cooked onion topped a cheeseburger and had a delicious sauce. I could only finish half the sandwich, it’s huge. It comes with homemade chips, they were actually better than I was expecting. My kiddo had the Texas sliders (kid’s meal comes with 2 sliders and the adult slider meal comes with 3). Hubby ordered a meat plate, which I thought was just okay. The sausage piece I sampled from his plate was over-cooked and tasted like it had been reheated because it was too chewy (like it gets when you microwave something too many times). I’m picky about smoked meat though, so I don’t order unless I see it being smoked in front of me (ie Hard Eight).

I do have a few cons to point out, but I didn’t deduct stars since overall it was an enjoyable visit. Our server didn’t keep our drinks full; however, she did walk over after we had our food to ask if we needed anything. Also, she didn’t offer to-go boxes even when she noticed how much food we had leftover. We really had a lot leftover, my half sandwich, my child’s slider and fries, and my husband brisket plus my chips. Plenty of food to take home for later!!

There is a bar so if you are looking for a Date Night idea, perhaps Rooster’s would be a spot to try in the evening hours.

We were passing through town and stopped here for lunch. The food was very good. The BLY had plenty of bacon plus ham, and was served with a side of crispy homemade chips. The BBQ Pit sandwich had a nice portion of smoked sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. The staff was great and the food came to the table quickly and hot.

This place is Awesome..
Food was fantastic.
Hayden was awesome..kept our glasses of sweet tea filled and was friendly and knows what he's doing.
We are impressed with Roosters and we highly recommend to everyone..
We will be back.

We were driving through from Houston to Amarillo and needed a quick lunch. A quick search lead us to this place. It was delicious! The staff was friendly, helpful, and quick.

We ordered the Bacon cheese fries, Patty melt, Basic cheeseburger, Kids Mac n cheese, and Brisket burger. We all gobbled it up. Tasty, good quality food here.

We’d definitely stop here again on our next time through the area.

I went to the Roosters in Denton and wasn't overly impressed so I was hesitant to try it again, I am glad I did! This location had great service, fresh food and a fun atmosphere. The only drawback for me is that they no longer have the hell sauce... Will definitely be back!

This was our first vist but definitely will not be our last. The food was amazing and a lot of it.
Our waitress was on point. We never had an empty glass. The atmosphere was chaotic but we enjoyed ourselves. Our kids loved the place and the food.

Nice bar dining room place. There are 3 pool tables in the back with additional seating upstairs. I tried the rooster tails, which are fried onion strips. Wonderful flavor, better than the big chain blossoms. The chicken strips are generous portions, a little pepper forward for me, but I am not a huge pepper fan. Good crispy fries. The banana pudding was really good also.

The food was so delicious I will definitely tell everyone I know to go try this place. The service was good. I mean they could’ve checked on you a little more. But it was still a very good experience for our first time trying them.

Great laid back vibe in a saloon atmosphere serving great food.
Fast service, friendly staff and plenty of seating is what you will find here. Full bar and cold tea will keep you cool while you enjoy dining on the amazing food. The Cuban sandwich is amazing!

Nice place right on the town Square you can eat and have a view of the courthouse.
Really nice interior signs, graffiti/signatures on the wall.
Menu includes the brisket plates and salads.
I ordered the sliced biscuit it was good with sides all three were excellent the fried okra black beans and rice and Cowboy slaw.
The service was excellent!!

We were in town for a few weeks and tries Rooster's our last day. Our server was very welcoming and kind. We ordered appetizers, drinks and meals. Everything was delicious! The Tennessee spicy chicken sandwich was not spicy however the flavor was amazing - definitely recommend trying that.

Absolutely phenomenal. The service, even on an Easter Sunday, was on point. The waiter was busy but was still attentive and helpful. The food was the perfect blend of temperature and flavor. BBQ sauce was perfectly spicy, and the sliced brisket was great. I highly recommend the Rooster Tails as well. We will most certainly be coming back!

Delicious smoked meats and steak fingers melt in your mouth. Excellent drink specials each day. Very friendly service and fun laid back atmosphere. So glad we stopped in!

Very good food. The fried pickles left a bit to be desired (to salty tbh) but the brisket nachos and the cockeyed mango lemonade were heavenly! Very friendly service and helpful waitress! Also great little view upstairs of the downtown area. Also has a small pool table area

We came here to have lunch with family. We were seated promptly, and had great service. The food was served quickly and was delicious! The drinks were also cheap so that’s also a plus. Definitely will come here again to enjoy some drinks, watch the game, and have a great meal!

My wife got the bbq plate and it was solid, but where they really shine are the burgers. I audibly moaned when I took my first bite of the smoked garlic jalapeño burger. It was ridiculous! The vinegar (cowboy) slaw was great and the homemade chips were tasty as well. Cool atmosphere but we're gonna go back some evening and see how it is at night.

I also tried one of the hell burgers. If the waitress offers you milk up front, TAKE IT. Don't wait until you're in the depths of Gehenna as I did. The cool thing is that while the burger was insanely hot (they use ghost chili and make you sign a waiver), it was still really tasty.

My biggest regret is having lived in Wise county for over a year now and just going in there today. We have some making up to do!

I must say the food was great. The French fries were better than McDonalds fries. Even a little girl customer made the same comment. My husband and I are in our 70’s and share food. They divided it for us prior to bring it out. Had a great burger.
